I believe I have talked about this many times before, but perhaps some of you were busy that day and missed it. and even if you went back and found it with my weekly RECAPS then that’s great! But I’m telling it again, not in the same way. I will be explaining it in a different way though how we are all the body of Christ.

One day I was watching on youtube a Pastor’s sermon and he said imagine if your mouth did one thing and it was uncontrollable? Imagine if when you went to shake someone’s hand, you ended up kicking them instead? That doesn’t sound too good,now does it? Ok, let me put it this way for you now, since we are the body of Jesus Christ, imagine when he wishes we reach out our hand to help someone (which in the end is a hand for Jesus) but instead of helping that person with our hand, we kick them while they are still on the ground in need of a loving and caring Christ-like soul.

How would you like it if you were in dire need of some help from someone but instead of that person giving, they took – they took from you by kicking you while you were down? Have you ever been kicked during times you were down? Have you ever kicked others while they were down? You may say no to this question but if you have ever mocked somebody or ridiculed them while they were down, that is just the same as kicking them to death as they lay there helplessly on the ground.

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” – 1 Corinthians 12:27

We are the body!

I love this song from Casting Crowns called “If We Are The Body” Now the lyrics speak in a magnificent way, because IF WE ARE THE BODY, why aren’t arms reaching? Why aren’t his hands healing? Why aren’t his words teaching? Why aren’t his feet going? Why is his love not showing them there is a way?

THERE IS A WAY! Why can’t we seem to show them that this way is JESUS? Is it because we are too caught up in time? Because we are worried about losing track? I know that time is something to be valued but when it’s being used for God in any way, isn’t that valuing time to it’s greatest extent? Most people tend to let time get the best of them and they control things on our time – whether then God’s time, but you see God’s time is the most important there ever will be.

His arms aren’t reaching… his hands aren’t healing and his words aren’t teaching because people are too consumed with trying to keep time –  too much to do in a day. There isn’t enough time to reach out and show others the healing of God’s word. Aha! See what I did there? Most people won’t take the time to reach our and show others the healing of his word. Here’s another for you: Other times people won’t take the time to get their feet going so that they can share his love with others and show them the way, the truth and the life.

WORK OUT THE BODY!

See, what is hard for most people to understand is that, even though there isn’t anything wrong with having this big church building for God, what can become wrong is putting this building before his word and even before some of his ways. Most times, preachers will make compromises to fill the pews of their little church so that it may grow into a big kingdom – but who’s kingdom is it really? That building made of wood beams with a steeple on top isn’t worth much to Jesus. He’s not coming back to take all the gold we put into some church. He’s coming back for HIS PEOPLE. Not any denomination, not any fancy building or the preachers with the nicest cars –  he’s coming back for souls who dedicated their life to him no matter what their status in life.

So, if we could just break down the walls of the church and see that WE ARE THE CHURCH; WE ARE THE BODY then things would be so much simpler in life, wouldn’t they? But things don’t tend to usually go that way, do they? No, they don’t. Because people don’t want to take the time to work out his body. All it takes is reaching our your arms and hugging those in need, whether it’s a spiritual hug or a real one; reaching out your hands and showing them the healing of his words; moving your feet to those in need and showing them his way and his love.

Come on and give it everything you get take a chance, make a stand and…

BREAK DOWN THE WALLS; WORK HIS BODY!
