Since I first heard this song I just fell in love with it! Johnny Cash – “I Won’t Back Down”
I started singing this song just awhile back – and I will continue singing this song for the rest of my life.
I know there are times when people will try to push you against the wall. They’ll even knock you to the ground! But here’s where the going gets rough, which means – you’ve got to get TOUGH! I like to take this song and use it while saying this message to those who are discouraged or feel like they are at a loss.
A message that God gave me awhile back in the year of 2011….
I began to realize it always seemed like people think that by belittling you and by trying to make you feel degraded that they can break you.
If you look up to the right of my website in the header it reads a quote I wrote and the words came to me early in the morning one day late in the night. I believe it was between 3 and 4 am. Back then there wasn’t much sleep for me – constantly worrying about my mom and where she was, if she was ok and praying she be safe, kept me up at night. Songs were starting to flow out of me I was playing the guitar and messing around listening to the different chords when all of a sudden the words came to me:
“Don’t let others break ya! Let em help to make ya!”– Nathan Tune
Along with this message: people will try to put you down, tell you that your nothing, but you can’t let them win! Don’t let em break ya! Let em help to make ya! No matter what people will say to you, you can’t allow it to get to you because there are events in our lives that happen that makes us much stronger then we were before. Some people may experience these struggles more than the rest but nevertheless, keep strong and let them help to make you!
I say this for those of you who may feel bullied by others in your life, whether it’s at work, in college or public school even church – wherever you go there is going to be some rotten apple out there trying to spoil your day. But what if we remove that rotten apple from our life? How can you remove something that’s so terribly bad? It’s simple really. If you let something get to you so badly, then the bully is winning anyway, but you’ve just got to be strong and not let the doings or words this person dishes out affect you.
God’s Word Says:
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”-Deuteronomy 31:6 K.J.V.
So you see friends, don’t be afraid. God is right there with you by your side. He will not fail you and he will see you through!! God is in control and on the throne as I like to call it – TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS!
To my mother, especially, as she’s going through some difficult struggles with people right now and to everyone else who may be struggling with the same situation, I ask that you remember these words and DON’T BACK DOWN!
“Well I won’t back down, no I won’t back down, you can stand me up at the gates of hell but I won’t back down. Gonna stand my ground, won’t be turned around, and I’ll keep this world from dragging me and I won’t back down.”- Johnny Cash
God bless y’all!

Thank you, Nathan. God is greater in me than he that is in the world – I am a winner! <3
