To some of my readers I’d just like to start off by saying I’m not going to be talking about a a video game today, I’m really talking about our world that we live in.

What I mean by that is you look around and there is so much evil, so much hate, a lot of crime and it often be hard for Christians to live in such a world. I suppose this isn’t any news, the world has pretty much always been this way.
No not really, I mean there is always going to be evil and wicked people in the world, but lets go back a few decades – I have heard stories countlessly during my life about how the good ole’ days were, people loved one another, they genuinely cared about each other and were there for each other. As neighbors, as friends, as family, as a nation.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”_Ephesians 6:11-12 K.J.V.
I believe everybody is connected in a way, I mean we have to be, but with the world becoming darker and darker it’s getting harder and harder for us to find those similarities with others, to connect with others the way God intended us to.
What can we do to make a difference in this world? What are some of the things we can say or do that will not just change our lives but most importantly the lives of others as well? We can always pray, but prayer is just a start that helps us gain the strength we need to continue on with the rest of the plan we need to follow. With that then comes action.
The bible often speaks of hearers of the word and doers of the word. Well with the world being so dark, I feel it has something to do with the fact that so many people are only just hearing the word and not going out in to the world and putting the teachings from they’re pastor to work. Also, they are only hearing what they want to hear. Like most Christians are always trying to save a soul with how loving God is, but they forget to mention that he does have laws he wants us to abide by, that he COMMANDS us to abide by. I once heard my grandma and grandpa say God didn’t say in the bible:
“Oh if you could please follow these rules that I have laid out before you that would be lovely.”
NO, he COMMANDS that we follow his COMMANDMENTS and not JUST the Ten Commandments either. He has laid out many commandments for us throughout the bible. I’ve always been told that the bible is a guide for us to so that we might have somewhat less difficulty trying to live this life. Not that things won’t be hard either, that isn’t promised either. In this day and time you are bound to be hated for standing and believing in Jesus’ Christ If you are truly living the life your supposed to be living and standing by his word, not only talking the talk but walking it as well then Jesus’ clearly stated out his mouth that we will be hated among all men for his names sakes.
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.”_ Luke 21:17 K.J.V.
For my scripture I mentioned earlier in this post Ephesians 6:11-12 we should all put on the whole armour of God so that we might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, the temptations of this world, and so much more. So we might stand strong in his name, following his will, his plan and his purpose for our lives.
In the words of Randy Newman “It’s a jungle out there!” It is a cruel dark wicked jungle, not that there isn’t light, where there is darkness there is light, what goes up must come down, and so on. Like the picture of the world where one half is dark and the other half is lit up by the sun, there is two sides of this world light and dark. I intend to be on the side with the light in it because the dark is just too dark for me! During my struggles with my mom I recall my best friend sending me an email and in the email these words stuck out to me the most.
“Your not done fighting yet, pick a side and stick with it”
People we’re not done fighting yet! Pick a side and stick with it, I wrote this because it seems like we are surrounded by darkness daily. But I’m reminded of when it’s raining and cloudy, even though you can’t see the sun you know it’s still there, and that’s just like God even when it doesn’t seem like he’s there, know that he is because he ALWAYS is! For we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Remember that.
