This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalms 118:24 (KJV)

Blank

Aug
04

Do you ever get those days where your mind just goes completely blank? You have so much to do and it seems that you cannot quite get a hold of all the things you need to get done, your mind has went completely blank. I have days like that when writing for this blog, it isn’t an easy thing maintaining just the right amount of encouragement and truth to everyone each day.

blank-flag

As matter of fact, it takes quite a bit of work, more than some may know. So the purpose of today’s post is just to talk about whatever may come to my head while writing it, you see, many people may not think that doing this ‘blogging thing’ is any work at all and actually there is some who might think it’s being completely lazy. However, it does take a lot of hard work, concentration, time, effort, creativity and even a little bit of your spirit as well, a good writer will put their heart, mind and soul into their writings and they will go the extra mile to keep their readers interested, I would like to think that I am a good writer. But who knows right? We can’t all be perfect, and that by no means is what I am looking for, all I hope to do is spread a little truth and encouragement with you each day that I breath.

Now, today’s post being that it’s coming right out of thin air will likely be shorter than all my other posts (though I say that pretty much all the time when writing) I have thought of a story to tell you that I believe I haven’t told yet, I’ve shared this with close friends that I know but I’ve not publicly shared it with everyone, it isn’t bad or anything, quite frankly I wouldn’t call it anything less of a miracle.

Bring On The Rain –

It was a hot summers day in South East Missouri (where I practically grew up) I must of been 9 or 10 years old at the time, putting that at about the year 2000 something. We didn’t have much money back then, and would usually get a blow up pool to play in to help us cool off in the summer, but we did not have one at this time, it was so hot outside and I decided to go sit on our swing sit and start to swing back and forth hoping the breeze from that would cool me off. I began to look up to the heavens and I started praying aloud, (paraphrasing here)

“Oh God, please make it rain right above me, please oh God I need the rain Jesus, it is so hot.”

I forgot to mention that on this hot day, there was not a single spec of a cloud in the sky, not one spec I tell you. I continued to pray silently to myself while swinging back and forth on the swing-set and before I knew it I felt a little drop of water on my head, I quickly thought to myself “Well that is odd.” (After I had just prayed for a miracle, so odd that it would happen, so typical of me.) I thought at first that it was only my imagination so I wrote it off. Then I felt another drop, and another, and another! Before I knew it, it was sprinkling down on top of me pretty heavy, and that isn’t the only thing, it was ONLY on top of me. Not a single cloud either, it was a true miracle from God, it was the most amazing thing I have experienced and I have still not forgotten to this day.

In Conclusion:

People can think I am crazy, and that is fine, I have also seen angels too, they were with me one time when I was with my mom up in Northern Missouri when she had taken me away to be with that man, there were angels there looking after us and I thank God for them because I know if it weren’t for the prayers of my grandparents and my great grandma, God, and those angels, I would not be here today to testify to you that on a hot summer day in Missouri, God answered a 10 year old boy’s prayer for rain.

Sometimes a little rain is a very good thing, (now I’m speaking of a more spiritual rain, of tragedy and heartbreak.) Sometimes we need to be drenched in that type of rain to help us make it through another day, to nourish our souls and to give us the strength to keep moving on no matter what. A little rain never hurt anyone, and a little rain that day I really needed it, really helped me, and it is still something that I cling on to when it seems nothing is going my way, because I know. Even if things aren’t going my way, they most certainly are going HIS way, because I have given him control over my life and I pray for his will and his will alone, daily.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope it has blessed you in some small way, if you can make sense of it let me know and I’ll get back to you on that, have a great day, night, afternoon, whatever.

I’m Not Perfect

Jul
21

We must all come to the realization that we aren’t the best that we can or even should be. There are small little imperfections about us that we cannot fix and other things that could do with some improvement. However, no matter what we must learn that we are not the most perfect human beings that have ever walked the face of the earth, we may be smart and know a lot, but we still have much left to learn.

tumblr_m7sr5oeuZ71r71r40o1_500I wrote one week about how we all have our own shoes to fill, you see. While some people sit on their high horse and look down upon on others as if they are mere lowly peasants not worth anyone’s time of day. They have a story, they have a heart, they have mind and a soul and they have emotion. Humans is what they are, humans like you and me, they aren’t perfect, some may not be so great with Math, while others may not be so good at grammar. Or perhaps they cannot even write or read at all, is that any cause to make fun of them, is that any reason? I think not. You see, we often forget that we ourselves at one point did not know the things we knew, maybe we were completely ignorant to everything we know now. But maybe, just maybe, someone took the time to share their expertise with us. Instead of shaming us into thinking we are nothing, instead of making cruel jokes and saying bad things about us without actually saying them.

Perhaps instead of saying those cruel comments out loud at all? I guess there will always be those who try and make us feel lowly of ourselves. I suppose that there will always be critiques. But we don’t have to allow those criticisms to get us down, as matter of fact, we don’t even have to let it be criticism at all. We can flip flop something around that was meant to be bad, and we can make it into a beautiful like transformation. Let’s not allow others to break us, let’s let them help to make us. That’s what I always say, lets rise high above our normal comfort zone. And let’s all try to be a little better than we normally are, let us not allow our imperfection’s to weaken us or prohibit us from achieving our dreams and for sure let’s not allow cruel comments to crush our self-esteem. Because we know in our hearts who we are, and we know that we do the best we can.

Do Your BEST – Leave the REST

Sometimes all you can do is the best that you can do, “Do your best and leave the rest, and hope to pass the test.” That’s another little quote that I always say, something I combined from the old ‘Black Beauty’ movie and my own thoughts during the time that my Mother had left back in 2011. It’s still something that I tell myself to this very day, because all you can ever do is the best that you can do and if you still end up getting burned in the process, then at least you tried. That’s bound to count for something isn’t it? Well, who knows it does, right? Maybe we are all just really that bad at being decent humans, or maybe others are really that bad at being good friends in this life. Or what if it’s a little of both? I think it is, even when we give it our absolute best, we will still make mistakes both big and small and that’s just a fact of life.

No matter how good we get at something, there is always going to be someone better than us at it, and that is perfectly fine because it is only another small fact of life. That should only make us want to try harder at what we do, so we can keep improving in our work or passion, and maybe we could even learn from those better than us. I mean after all, they didn’t get to be so good by being jealous of someone’s talent did they? They couldn’t have, they stepped up to the plate and became better instead of bitter and now we are back to that. That is the key no matter where we go, whether it come to getting cut off in traffic or finding out that someone may be better at something than you are, the key is to be better instead of bitter.

In Conclusion:

As Christian’s we know that we aren’t perfect, we are only human, but we also know that being human is no excuse to sin willfully and we also know that because we are mere humans with many weaknesses (imperfect in many ways) we are forgiven by God of all the things that we have ever done or may do ‘unknowingly’ in the future. Because that is just how loving and amazing Jesus Christ is, he is holy and he is just, he loves with such an amazing love and he judges with a mighty hand of glory and of power because he is full of righteousness beyond our imagination.

Remember this the next time you see someone sitting on their high horse judging others for every little imperfection, or remember this the next time YOU, yourself start to do the same to others. The murder deserves punishment, the thief deserves just punishment as does the drunkard and the alcoholic and the adulterer and the fornicator and the bully. And you get the picture I’m sure, we all have a big something or a little something that deems us worthy of hell. We have ALL sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and though it can be easy at times to become quickly angered at others hypocrisy and though they are justly deserving of unmerciful punishment – we can’t forget. SO ARE WE. While sins are different in a legal sense, they are the same in an eternal sense, meaning that if we are to continue in our sins willfully then… The punishment is death and separation from God. For.. Eternity. And because we all have had our fair share of sins, this makes us JUST as deserving of unmerciful punishment as it does anyone else who has.

Thank you for reading today’s post, until next time my dear friends, I pray that you have a very blessed with many moments of great love, joy, laughter and…

Children & The Corn

Jul
14

Don’t get it twisted just yet my friends, at least listen to what I have to say first. However, before I get into that, why not a short word of inspiration? When people tell you that you can’t, show them that you can. When they tell you that you won’t, show them that you most definitely will and lastly. If people tell you that you will never, show them that you will never let them be right no matter what it takes.

CornA long time ago, back in the day. When I was but a wee lil’ lad, I did something really stupid. Haven’t we all? It was the summer of the year 2000 something (which we are still living in, for anyone confused) and I had just went outside to play with another member of my family and a neighbor friend that we had invited over, my grandma and my mom were gone and my grandpa was the only left at home to watch us. He was in his bedroom, most likely taking a nap. When all of a sudden, we decided to go and play in the garden, well isn’t that a bright idea? I remember standing next to the corn stalk’s, I must of only been 4 1/2 feet tall and they were almost as tall as me so they must not have been that tall yet. I believe we were playing cops and robbers, I even had a toy dispatch radio.

As we were playing, I started getting tired and wanted to rest for a moment, but my younger family member started pulling on me and I decided to grad a hold of the corn. The constant tugging at it eventually caused it to become uprooted, I stood there for a few minutes in shock while holding the ripped up stalk in my hand. I heard my grandpa come outside, he must of heard all the ruckus and woke up from his nap to see what was going on. My family member told me that I was in trouble, our neighbor just stood there for a moment in the garden until my grandpa got there and seen what had happened, I have to say. He wasn’t too happy about me pulling up one of his corn stalks that my grandma and him had put so much time and effort in to grow, let’s just say that I learned a lesson that day and a lesson that has stayed with me even to this day.

Parents – God – Children – Corn

So, by now I bet you are wondering, “how does this tie into children?” Well, let me explain. It took my grandparents a whole lot of hard work, time and effort in growing that corn. First, the ground had to be tilled and then the seed had to be planted, it had to be covered up with a gardening hoe. Watered, weeded and nurtured for quite a long time to get it as big as it was. Only to be uprooted as if it was all done in vain, for nothing. It couldn’t bare any food anymore and there was no way of getting it deeply rooted again as it was once before, it seems as though it was lost forever. In the same way that an uprooted corn stalk can upset a person that values their garden a lot, having a child become uprooted from everything that a parent has taught them and raised them on their whole life can also very easily be upsetting for that parent.

It didn’t take them over night to get their child so deeply rooted in such a strong solid foundation, or well at least what they thought was a rock solid foundation. So why is it that many times parent’s children can become so easily uprooted almost over night as if they were never rooted at all? Temptation, tugging perhaps. The enemy will come and no matter how deeply rooted parent’s may think that their children are mentally, and even spiritually. If they aren’t fully committed to the will of God, then they will be easily taken down by the tugs of the enemy and like the man that build his house on sand, they will come crashing down.

In Conclusion:

Really all there is that we can do is pray. It may not seem like a whole lot, but it really is more than we could ever imagine, because it is true that prayer changes things. It is true that with faith and prayer, what once seemed like a terrible tragedy, can be turned around in to something so much greater than we could have ever thought. Continuously nurture your corn, water it, weed it, help it to grow as strong as it can be. Help it to be as deeply rooted as possible, so that no matter how strong the wind is, it won’t be able to blow it down. And no matter how rough the enemy comes in tugging, they won’t be able to pull it up. It’s not going to be an easy task and I for one am not one to give too much expertise on such issues, however. I must say. With God, it most certainly will not be impossible.

So you see my friends. It appears that the title should make some type of sense now, shouldn’t it? I know that some may have gotten the wrong impression at first glance, but believe you me. That was not my intentions. My only intentions is to help people see a great message of inspiration each time I share something on here, and while there may be times that I become weary and discouraged with everything. I know that with God ALL things are possible and I keep trusting in him for inspiration and he just keeps right on giving it to me.

I hope you liked today’s post and until next time…

The God Of The Mountain

Jul
07

In your walk with Christ you will face many ups and many downs. The ups will always be far greater then your downs, however the downs will likely be more often then your ups. That is the way it goes. I have seen multiple times in my life and in my family’s life where the same God was with us through both.

11117654_1169356379756542_1243764855_nHow is it possible that the same God who ‘allows’ such pain and misery is indeed the SAME God during our good times of love and peace? Because surely no ‘good’ God would ever let any harm come upon us now would he? And if it does, if we were to ever face any hardships in our life then we must not be living for God good enough now are we? If we hadn’t of missed church last Sunday or if we had been going to church more altogether. If we had been doing this, if we had been doing that. What if we had been going to church all of our lives? What if we had served God with all our heart, all our lives? What if we hadn’t of? What if we had of just died when we were laying on the death bed, gasping for air? As I have heard my favorite TV Minister Character (Rev. Eric Camden from my Fav show, 7th Heaven) I have to say.

We can’t play ‘What If’, we can only deal with ‘What Is’ and what is, is this. The Bible tells us, Jesus Christ himself tells us that if wechoose to follow him,we MUST be willing to count the cost. Because there IS a cost that we will pay, DAILY for serving him, for claiming to live in HIM. Too often ministers today try and paint ‘The Christian Life’ as this glamorous lifestyle. One where you never do any work and everything gets handed to you on a gold platter and a velvet pillow. But that isn’t true. Another saying from one of my other ‘real’ favorite TV Ministers, (Billy Graham) is this. (And I am certain I’ve repeated this before, because it’s true.)

“Salvation is free, but discipleship costs everything.” – Rev. Billy Graham

The way of righteousness is straight and narrow is the gate, but the way of hell is broad and wide and it leads to destruction.

He Is Still God In The Valley –

When times are rough, it is often hard to believe that someone really is up there looking out for you. But we must not forget, he is still God of the valley. The same God that was with you when you landed that big real estate deal, he’s the same God with you now while you struggle to pay your bills. Don’t doubt God. While questioning and reasoning is OK and most certainly natural, don’t even do that. Just Believe. Have Faith. He will bring you through, it will be alright. It may be hard to see the brighter side of your situation right now, but believe me when I tell you this. There is a brighter side to every dark day. And most likely, it isn’t too far away. All you need to do is keep holding on.

“Don’t give up, it’s worth it. Just keep trying.” – Obama

(Yes, I quoted the big O’)

It’s like a little light in a huge dark room. It’s not bright enough to light your entire way. Though it is just enough brightness to light up enough ahead of you so you can see your way through. Don’t worry about what is behind you, don’t worry about what is ahead of, just look beside you and God will be there. He’s guarding you from the front, he’s walking beside you and he’s trusting that you’ll never look back. Whoever puts their hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. In the Christian walk we will be given many mountains to climb, (many plows to put our hands to) we must never look back, because each step we take is one less step to glory and one more step from hell. So there is no point in looking back, by the time we reach the top, even though we must go back down. It’s still to far to look back.

In Conclusion:

After each mountain, there will always be another valley and after each valley, there will always be another mountain. Back when I was still struggling with the pain from my mom in 2010, I wrote this short piece about ‘The Christian Life’ it isn’t anything of great extravagance, but it is something of significance.

“With every sorrow there is a joy. With every valley there is a hill. But with every joy there is a sorrow. And with every hill there is a valley. The life of a Christian is not easy. You follow a path that winds through the darkest places only to come out in the brightest of all, then to go back down into the darkest pit only to rise on the highest mountain.” – Nathan Tune

So keep walking my friends, keep climbing. Keep struggling, keep pursuing, keep persevering. Keep fighting the good fight. Keep letting your light shine. Keep rocking on, and keep moving on. Keep your held high and your spirits held higher. Keep your eyes on Christ and your mind on truth. Keep your heart on love and your feet on the rock. Keep picking up your cross, daily.

Love & Shame Of America

Jun
27

During the whole ‘unlawful’ ‘legalization’ of ‘Gay Marriage’ (whatever that is) I have seen quite a few people speak the phrase “I’m ashamed of my country” That is a phrase that I have a hard time getting around. I must ask myself, we must all ask ourselves. “Are WE ashamed of our country? Am *I* ashamed of my country?”

grunge_bless_america___precut_png_stock_by_somadjinn-d727784For me, the answer to that question has got to be, ‘Yes’ and ‘No’. I will always have a great love and patriotism for the core values of what America was founded upon, what America used to be. How we once stood up and defended freedom, justice, equality, liberty and all of that good stuff. How we took a stand against terrorism and put an end to it right then and there when it was the darkest times the world had ever seen. How we were that shining city on a hill, a leading example for the world. A place where people looked to for freedom, shelter and a better way of life.

A place where people could actually make something of themselves, not get any benefit under the sun if they came here as an immigrant, but where they could be anything they wanted with hard work and determination. That is what makes me proud to be an American. The men and women before me that actually built this country, instead of just ‘talking’ about building, they actually did. The brave men and women that died defending it’s founding principles to the bitter end. Even if it meant their life, they stood for what was right. Not like us wimps today. So no, I’m very proud of my country. Or well, what it used to be.

I Am Ashamed –

But today, I am very ashamed of what it has become. Of what her people have become. You cannot say “God bless you’ without someone curling up into the fetal position with their feelings hurt. You can’t have Jesus in school because it’s ‘unconstitutional’ so he is removed. Yet when anything goes wrong the first question anyone asks is “Where is God?” the answer to that is that he wasn’t allowed on the premises. Could it of been avoided if he was? That is a high possibility. He does defend his people. Those that call on his name.

What was once unthinkable is now acceptable in many peoples minds and they don’t even care how it affects them or are country. They don’t even care how each so called ‘victory’ in the Democratic party is just another loss for all of us as Americans as far as freedom is concerned. So yes. I am very ashamed at what America has become, because everyone has become a bunch of wimps. I am ashamed of our leaders.

Mothers young sons died fighting for freedoms and religious liberties so we could wimp out. I think not. Christians are too afraid to get political but I believe it is a Christian’s duty to be concerned with these issues. Americans in the beginning dealt with two things very seriously. God and Politics. Many people think the two can’t collide and they are right. In the wrong way they can’t, but in the right way they can.America was based on freedom, morals, values. Ethics. Now we bow down to everyone under the sun.

We are weak and feeble. We have no backbone anymore. We put the desires of other cultures before the founding principles of our own. Our founding Fathers was be sickened with disgust of how weak we have become. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t blame them.

We deserve to be spat on in the face for our ignorance.

In Conclusion:

With that said, what do I believe about Gay Marriage? I believe in what the bible says, (and no, don’t give me that garbage about shrimp being worse then gay marriage. Either you can’t read or you don’t know how the bible defines things) the bible tells us that marriage was a sacred bond created by God. A bond between a man and a woman.

Therefore, I do not believe in ‘Gay Marriage’ nor do I support it. I would not ever vote to make it legal. HOWEVER, this is a big however by the way. I do believe that the STATES have a right to choose whatever it is that they want when it comes to this issue.

I believe as a Christian and a Conservative that these two beliefs are based upon freedom, liberty and free will. You can’t very have freedom, liberty and free will when it is being oppressed. So, while I myself personally do not support the idea of ‘legal’ ‘gay marriage’ I do support a persons right and free will to live however it is that they please. Which means this.

The Supreme Court should not have any right to tell individual states what to do in this matter. If states want to vote for gay Marriage, fine, let them have it. Don’t force them to stop it. If states don’t want it, don’t force them to do it. Simple as that. And lastly. Don’t sue Bakeries, T-Shirt Companies, or Photographers for not participating in the wedding ceremonies because that goes against their ‘religious’ beliefs and that is wrong. Do not make them out to be this awful ‘bigoted’ hateful people when all they are doing is refusing to participate in a gay wedding. After all, it isn’t like they are cutting their heads off or anything. (Oh wait, I’m sorry. That is from places like Saudi Arabia and Sharia Law where that happens. Which happens to be the same location of many well known Liberal owned companies. HA how hypocritical) makes me sick.

Stop being such wussified hypocritcal babies and stand up for what you believe. Not in hate, no. Do it in love. With truth. And with boldness. That’s what it’s going to take. Where we can find common ground, for the sake of ALL our lives and all our freedoms and our country lets find common ground. Lets stand together. Let’s stand strong.

Until next time…

Let’s Just Be American

Jun
23

It is often debated the terrible issue of ‘segregation’ in this country, well it is if you still live in the 50’s but if you are a strong American Patriot that has moved on from those mistakes and learned from them then you realize that segregation is a horrible thing, especially for us as people of such a great country that is “The United States Of America” so why is the political left still trying to segregate us all, pitting us against each other like we’re dogs?

1200

Because the truth of the matter is, is that I believe that each of us are Americans, I don’t care exactly what it is that someone might believe or how it is that they might even feel about my beliefs and I certainly do not care about the color of their skin or where it is that they may have an ethnic origin from, that is not a problem for me at all. I love America and because of this I love Americans, though we often disagree from time to time, why is it that we can’t just all be Americans? Why do we have to segregate ourselves with titles such as “Asian – American” or “African – American” why is this even a thing at all, why aren’t we just fully American citizens of the United States? Even if someone be gay, or straight or whatever, if they are someone that truly wants to better this country for the good then they are Americans nonetheless, and the only ones that keeps segregating us in such a dramatic way is those who want power.

We don’t have to continuously fall for these lies that only breed more and more hate towards each other, hate towards whites because they are white and to the blacks because they are black, hate towards Asians because they are Asian, none of it makes any sense at all and none of it is even necessary at even the slightest, it is ridiculous. I find it hard to believe that people these days are still falling for this, I find it hard to believe that deep down people don’t want to be something more, something greater, something better than just someone that is being divided into categories like we are all slaves or pigs, I believe that people really want to just live their lives as American citizens.

There Is Hope –

I believe that regardless of what the mainstream media tells us, that we most certainly can come together, we might not always agree on every single little issue and we may never agree on every issue. But where we can find common ground let us find common ground, and no matter how impossible one may think it is, it isn’t, I have seen time and time again where no matter of race, faith or whatever differences it is that people may have they have came together and stood with each other against the Government that stands to threaten and take away ALL of our liberties, I have seen gays stand with Christian bakers and Christian Pizza shop owners and Christian T-Shirt makers, I have seen them stand together when their businesses were being threatened by people that only want to divide us more.

I have seen miraculous stories about Americans coming together in love, and standing with one another so that we all might be able to live a little more free in this country, because I believe that there is hope, Raven Symone who most of you may know was on the Cosby Show and on Disney’s “That’s So Raven” once made a statement almost too hard for the big O’ (as in Oprah) to handle.

“I don’t label myself. What I really mean by that is I’m an American,” the actress continued. “I have darker skin. I have a nice, interesting grade of hair. I connect with Caucasian. I connect with Asian. I connect with black. … I connect with each culture. … Aren’t we all (a melting pot)? Isn’t that what America’s supposed to be?” – Raven Symone

Yes! Exactly, that is exactly what America is supposed to be, the left and the right get so caught up in a strict political view that they often forget that we are still humans, we are still people and we are still Americans. We have all different kinds of races mixed in us and we have diverse families, friends and it is not a bad thing, I was amazed the other day when I was talking with an elderly colored woman and she couldn’t believe that I was talking to her in public it was like a throwback in time, I do not deny that racism still goes on and I don’t defend it in any sense, but we really have come a long ways in many good ways, in some ways we have grown better and in other ways we have grown worse.

So let us take great notice of our accomplishments and let us fix our failures from where we have fallen.

In Conclusion:

Whatever you believe, whatever your race is or wherever it is that your heritage may come from let’s not let that matter as much as who we really are as a people, I have mostly Apache blood in me, I have some Hispanic blood as well, I have Dutch and Irish and a lot of other races mixed in me, I’m a melting pot in one body, though I can’t for sure tell you exactly where my ethnic origin truly is and I can’t really tell you much about my tribe as an ‘Apache’.

But I can tell you that I was born and raised in Southeast Missouri of the United States Of America with a long desire in my heart to move out to Texas where I now reside, I can’t tell you what types of food my ethnic origin might have but I can tell you that I like good ole’ American cheeseburgers and fries with a nice ice cold American Coca Cola to wash it all down with. If you ask me what race I am or where I’m from or what my ethnic origin is, though I am mixed with many, I’m most likely to simply reply with a great big smile on my face –

“I’m American, and I’m from Texas.”

Thank you for reading today’s post , I hope that you are blessed beyond measure and until we blog again…

There Is Still Hope

Jun
09

When you have taken the last step that you think you can take, there is still hope. When you have reached what you say is absolutely the very last destination you will ever reach, just let me take a moment to remind you of something that you might have forgotten while on your journey, there most certainly is ‘still’ hope. Though it seems that all hope may be lost, when you least expect it, it is there for you.

11271140_1141879335837580_152668578_n If you feel as though you have given the last bit of advice you can ever give, there is still hope for more, if it seems as though you are no longer able to care for anyone at all, there is hope. There is hope for you when no one else thinks there is, there is hope for you in the darkest pits of this world, and yes I have to say that absolutely there is hope even when you don’t deserve a second chance, even if you have failed at everything else, you still have hope. Somehow it’s there when you need it the most and deserve it the least, could it be that God cares about his children that much, that he would be so gracious and kind to extend hope to us even though it is certain that we do not deserve one ounce of mercy?

Absolutely, it most certainly is. Why? For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever ‘believeth’ in him should ‘not’ perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) “Everlasting” Eternity, Forever, on and on and on and on and on and on and on! IF – ONLY we would just BELIEVE that HE IS, he is what? He is our LOVE, he is our LORD, he is our GOD, he is our LIGHT he is our JOY, he is our STRENGTH he is the TRUTH, he is the WAY, he is the LIFE, he is EVERYTHING, he IS ‘EVERLASTING’ he is the beginning and the end, he is eternity he is forever, he is HOPE. When we least expected it he was our hope, he came into this dying world and he SAVED it, he gave us new life, he gave us new faith, he gave us new air to breath, new light to see and my friends, he gave us HOPE.

Our Hope Lies In Christ –

I may have mentioned this before on my radio show, but I do not believe that I ever have written about it on my blog post, there is an old song (bet you thought I was gonna say ‘there is still hope’ didn’t ya? Fooled you.) that my grandparents often sing, they learned it from one of their old Pastor’s from when they first got into church, (many moons ago, no, just kidding, only one.) it explains how there is only one hope that we have, and that would be hope in Jesus Christ. It is entitled “Jesus My Hope Is In You” in the lyrics it goes on to say that there is no one else who could possibly carry us through (and if I may elaborate) no one else could ever carry us through such dark times of this wicked world that we face as Christ can, no one else has the power to help us overcome evil with good and no one else deserves praise and honor as he.

Though there are times when satan may try and tempt us to give up and walk away from the path that God has set out before us, we cannot allow him to fool us into believing that what he says is true. He will try and trick us into believing that there is no hope, that our lives aren’t worth much, or anything for that matter. He will laugh at us and get us to feel terrible about ourselves, he will ‘try’ and make us worry about every little thing that you can imagine and he will try to make you think that God doesn’t care about you, that God does not love you. That you aren’t able to be saved from all your sins and before you know it “IF” you let him get in your head, you will soon become a victim to evil mind play of the devil himself.

In Conclusion:

When you’re down and discouraged, and feeling alone, a beggar an outcast, or a man with no home, know that in one special moment your life can be made new, because there is still hope. In Jesus alone. The other day I became worried about something, so I decided to call and find out the outcome so I wouldn’t have to worry anymore, when I got off the phone with the people I wanted to talk with it became clear to me that there was no reason to be so worried, not just yet anyways. And what became even more clear to me was the fact that there was still hope for me. Thus the inspiration for this blog post was born, we all need a little hope in our lives, living in these days don’t we?

We could use it. If you find yourself in a predicament that causes you to start worrying, fear not, remember that even if it doesn’t seem as though it’s there, it is. Hope will always be there, and you will always be able to find it, no matter how big or small the situation is or no matter how unlikely it is that there be any chance at all. I promise you that even if it’s a very small thread, it will be there and it will be something that will help you make it through, it will be what gets you to your next destination and it will be what gets you to the finish line of this race to glory.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope that it has blessed you in some special way my friends, until the next time we blog I pray for you to be continuously be treated the way that you treat others on a daily basis. God bless and as always…

Growing Up

Jun
05

The little boy stares at the new remote controlled toy truck displayed in the toy stores window, with such childish awe and amazement he begins to slowly reach up and touch the glass, dreaming of the day that he could own the toy himself, however, he knew that such a dream was absolutely foolish. You see, Mike’s parents were very poor at the time and could barely afford to take care of themselves.

The-Land-of-Ooh's-and-Ahh'sMuch less afford something so grand for Christmas, yes. Sadly, Mike’s hopes of ever owning such a nice toy was nothing more than that – just hope. “Why do we have to be so poor, God?” Mike thought to himself. “Why do my parents have to work twice as hard as any of the other families on my block yet only make half of what they make, it isn’t fair God, it isn’t FAIR!” He began shouting and kicking the trash cans outside of the store and the store owner ran out to see what all the ruckus was about, when he found that little Mike was to blame he was shocked. See, Mike isn’t known for getting into trouble, he’s actually quite a nice boy, he does what he is told when he is told and he does so with the utmost politeness, he is very mature for his age, (that would be 8 by the way) he likes to drink a lot of chocolate milk and play in the dirt with his ‘friend’, Bill.

The only serious trouble he’d ever gotten in was not cleaning up after himself one evening, he’d never made such a mess before in his life, most certainly not intentionally anyways, when Mr. Pine found him standing there he quickly began to question why it was that our friend, Mike had so angrily knocked over his trash cans, when Mike explained his frustrations with Mr. Pine, Mr. Pine just gave a slight grin and a small tear started to stream from his face, because you see, Mr. Pine knew all too well the struggle of being poor, so he got himself back together and he told Mike not to worry, “You be a good boy like you always have Mike, you pay attention in school and I promise you that one day it will all pay off.” “Now, let’s get this mess cleaned, what do you say?” Mr Pine said with a laugh.

50 YEARS LATER –

It had been 50 whole years since that short encounter with Mr. Pine, who is now long gone, our friend Mike has grown up to be a fine businessman and though he never became filthy rich, he always managed to have everything he always wanted, except, he never did seem to get that Blue remote controlled truck that he had dreamed of many years ago in the window, now this being his 30th Holiday with his family, they all agreed that it was time to get their dad something that he had still always dreamed of, but never made the time of getting himself, come Christmas morning he was just excited to wake up breathing, but when he started opening his gifts his eyes filled with tears as he saw the toy truck under the wrapping paper.

He began crying and remembered the day that he had stared into the store window, asking God why. – He remembered that it wasn’t easy growing up the son of a farmer in the middle of the hardest times his country had ever faced, he remembered that it was often difficult, but he made it through, he grew up, he came out something wonderful, like a diamond he was given just the right amount of pressure to come out worth more then he could have ever imagined.

In Conclusion:

We often ask ourselves “Why God?” why is it that we work so hard but seem to get nowhere, or why is it that we can’t even afford the simplest of things, much less a little toy? Personally I have to say, even though my family has had it rough at times. I have to say that there has never really been a ‘bad’ Christmas, we may not of always had ‘everything’ but you know what? Most of the time we do not need ‘EVERYTHING’ we always had just enough, somehow, we managed to get what we wanted and somehow we always managed to get by, I have always been amazed at that. We all change, we all grow up, it’s just a part of life, I remember when I was little running down the hallway on Christmas morning shouting at the top of my lungs “It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas!” My eyes getting real big as I seen the gifts and stockings full, the candy, the tree, the music, the hot chocolate, the food, all of it, somehow everything was just right even when we didn’t have much, it couldn’t have been better.

There may be times that we wished we could go back and change things but we have to ask ourselves, in growing up, is there really a lot that we would change? How much is there that we would change and if so, what exactly would we change? For some I am certain that there are many things that they would change, but for a lot, myself included, I have to say that I would not change much or any little thing at all, because even though there are rough and bad times throughout our life and for those that grew up in far worse conditions than myself, even though there are bad times, it is those tragic events in our life that make us who we need to be, well I could put that in a different set of words, it is what gives us the power to be who we need to be, whether we choose to do the right thing is another story entirely.

But that’s also a part of growing up, thank you much for reading (the story above the conclusion is entirely fictional written by Nathan Tune for the purposes of this blog) I hope you have been blessed by it in some way.

Travelin’ On…

Jun
04

Hello everyone, I titled this post “Travelin’ On” however, I do not know entirely what I am going to say on the subject and please let me warn you ahead of time that I may stray away from topic here and there, I just needed a nice little title for the post so I thought that the one above was a perfect fit. You see, it becomes ever more difficult to find inspiration to give inspiration, to be an inspiration!

airplane-wallpaper-3I am often weary from thinking of what to write next even though I try my hardest to keep these posts scheduled way ahead of time so in a sense I am working each day to travel on with this blogging mission that I have taken upon myself, I do enjoy writing and posting what it is that God has given to, and I love reading all the feedback that I get whether it be negative or positive (though the positives always outweigh the negative) I enjoy being able to shed some kind of light in someones darkest hour and I love to bring hope to the world in some way each day that passes us by. Because I know that there are so many who doesn’t feel as though they can continue traveling on, as matter of fact they feel as though they might have hit their limit, ran their last mile, spent their last ounce of strength and lost their last drop of fuel to get them through.

This may be true for some, however, I am here to say otherwise. It’s my job now isn’t it? Otherwise. There, I said it. You heard me, yes that is correct. OTHERWISE. Otherwise what? OK, how about this. What if you haven’t spent your last ounce of strength or your last drop of fuel, what if you are seconds away from a pit stop and if you give up now you will feel so foolish when you could have gone a few more steps ahead and rejuvenated yourself to keep moving on, but instead you gave up because you didn’t think you could go on any further. When in reality, God had otherwise planned, there was a way, there is always a way. We must find a way to make a way to live the way.

Hold On –

Keep holding on no matter what, we know that it is hard, we know that it isn’t easy, we know that things can become tiresome from time to time but we must not forget to keep holding on to our faith, to hope. Because there most certainly is hope, there always is hope my friends, when we least expect it, hope comes around the corner and slaps us in the face with a wake up call and we are amazed at the way things start to turn. Because when we thought about stopping only seconds from a pit stop, we didn’t, we kept going, we got a rejuvenation and went back out there until our next checkpoint and we kept going.

Along the way we may have faced some dark valleys, some mountains and some storms, we may have had to endure freezing temps and brutal heat waves, we may have had to endure slippery slopes and rugged hills that were almost too hard to get over but by the grace of God we made it and we continue to each day.

In Conclusion:

In the words of one of my favorite TV Ministers of all this world, though he’s not a real Minister at all, rather just a Character from one of my favorite TV Shows called “7th Heaven” he most certainly was an amazing Pastor in the show, and though the man that had the honor and privilege to play the role of “Reverend Eric Camden” has recently had some bad stuff come upon him from some awful things he did in the past. The Character is still the character and the character is amazing.

“You live, you learn, you learn to cope.” – Reverend Eric Camden

And that is so true, in this life we all go through hard times in the struggle we pray for a life line, needing someone to show us the way but we’ve got to have faith. We must continuously grow stronger in our faith each day, because God is our mighty defender.

Thank you for all who have read, may it have blessed you in some way. (Rev. Camden’s quote may have been slightly paraphrased for the sake of not being able to find the actual quote and not being able to remember it fully)

What Is Love?

Jun
03

Guest Post By:  Sarah Grosjean

In our day and age it’s hard to determine what love is because our society has blurred the line between obsession, attraction, lust and love.

11355487_1149677685057745_411527889_n

I looked up the definition of love in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and here was the definition they gave me:

love Noun
:a feeling of strong or constant affection for someone
:attraction that includes sexual desire : the strong affection felt by people who have a romantic relationship
:a person you love in a romantic way

Now, I don’t know about you, but that does not satisfy me.  They’ve clearly defined love as a feeling.  But I would like to argue that love is not a feeling, but rather an action.

Let’s look at what God says love is.  1st Corinthians 13 is often called ‘The Love Chapter’, so I thought we might look at that first.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8King James Version (KJV)
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

There’s the Biblical definition.  Let’s look at it a little bit closer, and break it down a little bit.

vs. 4 “Charity suffereth long, and is kind…” The word Charity in this passage is love.  Love is long-suffering, and is kind.
“…charity envieth not…” Love does not envy.

“…charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up…” Love is not prideful. Love is humble.

vs. 5 “Doth not behave itself unseemly…” Love acts in standards of decency.
“…seeketh not her own…” Love is selfless, and thinks of others first.
“…is not easily provoked…” Love is slow to anger.
“…thinketh no evil…” Love does not think evil of others.

vs. 6 “Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.” Love is not happy when something bad happens, but rejoices in the truth.

vs. 7 “Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
Love bears burdens, love believes in people and hopes the best in people, and edures until the end.

vs. 8 “Charity never faileth…” Love does not fail, or fall out.

As shown, love is not felt, but rather shown, and does. We are given the perfect example of love when we look at Jesus Christ.
Look at John 3:16, which is perhaps one of the most well-known verses in the Bible.

“For God so loved the world that He GAVE his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

You see how it says He loved, and so He gave.  It doesn’t say He loved, and so He had butterflies in His stomach.
I see so many people, young and old, who confuse attraction, obsession or lust with love.

But there is a world of difference between those.  Maybe the reason why so many marriages and relationships end in failure is because people have forgotten the true meaning of love. And when the initial attraction fizzles out, the “fall out of love”.   But that’s simply not how real love works. Loving is making a choice to do something without thinking of ones self, or what we’ll get in return.  It is not an emotion, even though sometimes when we love we have emotions.

Jesus demonstrated that perfectly.  He came to live a life on earth so He could die so that we might have forgiveness, and reconciliation with Him in Heaven.

“Greater love hath no man than this: that a man lay down his life for his friend.” (John 15:13)

That’s exactly what He did.

In conclusion, we are given an example of love.  Now examine your heart, do you love like you’re supposed to?  I think if you are completely honest, all of us can say we’ve come short of loving fully, without thinking of ourselves.  I know I’ve fallen short of perfect love many times.

But with this example, we can strive to be more like Jesus, and love others every day the way God does for us.  But remember, it’s only by God’s grace that we can do it.
