Standards..

Aug
18

Today I would like to just jump right into the very core of this post and that is the diminishing of our over all standards as a society, as people, but most importantly, as THE Church of Jesus Christ, we are starting to fall.

11132136_1117408078284706_1177506354_n

As the above photo states, what you can see is the sheer destruction of what once was a strong piece of material, the canvas is very strong, however if we allow it to be compromised in any way then we will soon find that it’s strength will quickly be meaningless, as it will crumble and cause it to be easily ripped apart by anyone and everyone that seeks to do it harm. However, if we keep it from being compromised, then there is nothing in this world that could ever get is to be torn apart, we must keep it guarded from the dangers that is of this world, or else our beloved canvas will be taken away from us.

We as Christians need to guard ourselves from the evil of this world, we need to be so strong in our faith before we even attempt to go out into the darkest parts of this earth, because if we aren’t fully prepared to enter the combat zone then we will be one of the first to be taken down, if our canvas isn’t heavily guarded by the word of God and we are subject to one little snip while out in combat then perhaps all of our ethics and values could be compromised as well, the problem with the Christian church today isn’t that they are not allowing enough God in (though that is a huge problem) the main problem is the fact that the church has started allowing too much of satan in.

It is true that the church is a place for sinners to come, but they are to come to be healed and they are to come to church to be transformed, if there never is any transformation at all then something is wrong and I’m not saying that we become perfect over night because we will never be perfect in such an imperfect world there is only one worthy of the title ‘perfect’ and that is our Lord Christ, but what I am saying however is that without some type of change then perhaps something is wrong.

In Comes The Enemy:

The scripture tells us that the enemy will come in rushing like a flood, but that the Spirit of the Lord will raise a standard, now the problem is that we can very well see the enemy rushing in, like the song says, we see the enemy coming at our families, our churches, our communities, our relationships and our nations, however, what we don’t see is the standard, people are failing to stand up with a great strength of holiness for God and they are failing to live a life of action, many can ‘talk’ the ‘talk’ but there are very few in this church that can actually ‘walk’ the ‘walk’ while some believe that talking is the only thing we need to do others believe that walking is the only thing necessary.

But I believe that there is an equal balance in scripture, and I believe that we should be so bold in our faith that when we talk it we don’t have to be second guessed as to if we are really walking it, we need to have a great love for his truth so strong that when we come across the lost of this world and we say to them on the street “hey, Jesus loves you” they feel such a powerful presence of love and witness of God from our life to the point where they don’t even have to think twice as to whether or not we actually meant it, what we are really needing more in this world, the Church world, is a standard of truth, love and boldness, that is what we really need.

In Conclusion:

I hope that you have all learned to be very careful in the paths you choose to go down, because while we are all free to choose whatever path it is that we want to take, there is a great danger ahead of us no matter where it is that we may go, because the enemy is always trying to look for ways to take us away from God because he is angry that  he took us from him, he is angry that we are no longer under his illusion of deception, he is angry that he no longer controls our lives, and he will stop at nothing to get us back.

So stand strong in your faith, raise your standard high according to the word of God, live your life according to his purposes, so that when every time the enemy does come rushing in like a flood God raises up the very standard that you live by and it knocks the enemy so far back it takes two weeks for such demonic power to come back at you again, don’t let your faith be compromised, don’t allow people to trick you into to selling your soul out to satan no matter what, and last but not least, continue on in fighting the good fight of faith because believe me my friends IT IS worth it, it’s worth it.

Until next time…

Blank

Aug
04

Do you ever get those days where your mind just goes completely blank? You have so much to do and it seems that you cannot quite get a hold of all the things you need to get done, your mind has went completely blank. I have days like that when writing for this blog, it isn’t an easy thing maintaining just the right amount of encouragement and truth to everyone each day.

blank-flag

As matter of fact, it takes quite a bit of work, more than some may know. So the purpose of today’s post is just to talk about whatever may come to my head while writing it, you see, many people may not think that doing this ‘blogging thing’ is any work at all and actually there is some who might think it’s being completely lazy. However, it does take a lot of hard work, concentration, time, effort, creativity and even a little bit of your spirit as well, a good writer will put their heart, mind and soul into their writings and they will go the extra mile to keep their readers interested, I would like to think that I am a good writer. But who knows right? We can’t all be perfect, and that by no means is what I am looking for, all I hope to do is spread a little truth and encouragement with you each day that I breath.

Now, today’s post being that it’s coming right out of thin air will likely be shorter than all my other posts (though I say that pretty much all the time when writing) I have thought of a story to tell you that I believe I haven’t told yet, I’ve shared this with close friends that I know but I’ve not publicly shared it with everyone, it isn’t bad or anything, quite frankly I wouldn’t call it anything less of a miracle.

Bring On The Rain –

It was a hot summers day in South East Missouri (where I practically grew up) I must of been 9 or 10 years old at the time, putting that at about the year 2000 something. We didn’t have much money back then, and would usually get a blow up pool to play in to help us cool off in the summer, but we did not have one at this time, it was so hot outside and I decided to go sit on our swing sit and start to swing back and forth hoping the breeze from that would cool me off. I began to look up to the heavens and I started praying aloud, (paraphrasing here)

“Oh God, please make it rain right above me, please oh God I need the rain Jesus, it is so hot.”

I forgot to mention that on this hot day, there was not a single spec of a cloud in the sky, not one spec I tell you. I continued to pray silently to myself while swinging back and forth on the swing-set and before I knew it I felt a little drop of water on my head, I quickly thought to myself “Well that is odd.” (After I had just prayed for a miracle, so odd that it would happen, so typical of me.) I thought at first that it was only my imagination so I wrote it off. Then I felt another drop, and another, and another! Before I knew it, it was sprinkling down on top of me pretty heavy, and that isn’t the only thing, it was ONLY on top of me. Not a single cloud either, it was a true miracle from God, it was the most amazing thing I have experienced and I have still not forgotten to this day.

In Conclusion:

People can think I am crazy, and that is fine, I have also seen angels too, they were with me one time when I was with my mom up in Northern Missouri when she had taken me away to be with that man, there were angels there looking after us and I thank God for them because I know if it weren’t for the prayers of my grandparents and my great grandma, God, and those angels, I would not be here today to testify to you that on a hot summer day in Missouri, God answered a 10 year old boy’s prayer for rain.

Sometimes a little rain is a very good thing, (now I’m speaking of a more spiritual rain, of tragedy and heartbreak.) Sometimes we need to be drenched in that type of rain to help us make it through another day, to nourish our souls and to give us the strength to keep moving on no matter what. A little rain never hurt anyone, and a little rain that day I really needed it, really helped me, and it is still something that I cling on to when it seems nothing is going my way, because I know. Even if things aren’t going my way, they most certainly are going HIS way, because I have given him control over my life and I pray for his will and his will alone, daily.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope it has blessed you in some small way, if you can make sense of it let me know and I’ll get back to you on that, have a great day, night, afternoon, whatever.

Children & The Corn

Jul
14

Don’t get it twisted just yet my friends, at least listen to what I have to say first. However, before I get into that, why not a short word of inspiration? When people tell you that you can’t, show them that you can. When they tell you that you won’t, show them that you most definitely will and lastly. If people tell you that you will never, show them that you will never let them be right no matter what it takes.

CornA long time ago, back in the day. When I was but a wee lil’ lad, I did something really stupid. Haven’t we all? It was the summer of the year 2000 something (which we are still living in, for anyone confused) and I had just went outside to play with another member of my family and a neighbor friend that we had invited over, my grandma and my mom were gone and my grandpa was the only left at home to watch us. He was in his bedroom, most likely taking a nap. When all of a sudden, we decided to go and play in the garden, well isn’t that a bright idea? I remember standing next to the corn stalk’s, I must of only been 4 1/2 feet tall and they were almost as tall as me so they must not have been that tall yet. I believe we were playing cops and robbers, I even had a toy dispatch radio.

As we were playing, I started getting tired and wanted to rest for a moment, but my younger family member started pulling on me and I decided to grad a hold of the corn. The constant tugging at it eventually caused it to become uprooted, I stood there for a few minutes in shock while holding the ripped up stalk in my hand. I heard my grandpa come outside, he must of heard all the ruckus and woke up from his nap to see what was going on. My family member told me that I was in trouble, our neighbor just stood there for a moment in the garden until my grandpa got there and seen what had happened, I have to say. He wasn’t too happy about me pulling up one of his corn stalks that my grandma and him had put so much time and effort in to grow, let’s just say that I learned a lesson that day and a lesson that has stayed with me even to this day.

Parents – God – Children – Corn

So, by now I bet you are wondering, “how does this tie into children?” Well, let me explain. It took my grandparents a whole lot of hard work, time and effort in growing that corn. First, the ground had to be tilled and then the seed had to be planted, it had to be covered up with a gardening hoe. Watered, weeded and nurtured for quite a long time to get it as big as it was. Only to be uprooted as if it was all done in vain, for nothing. It couldn’t bare any food anymore and there was no way of getting it deeply rooted again as it was once before, it seems as though it was lost forever. In the same way that an uprooted corn stalk can upset a person that values their garden a lot, having a child become uprooted from everything that a parent has taught them and raised them on their whole life can also very easily be upsetting for that parent.

It didn’t take them over night to get their child so deeply rooted in such a strong solid foundation, or well at least what they thought was a rock solid foundation. So why is it that many times parent’s children can become so easily uprooted almost over night as if they were never rooted at all? Temptation, tugging perhaps. The enemy will come and no matter how deeply rooted parent’s may think that their children are mentally, and even spiritually. If they aren’t fully committed to the will of God, then they will be easily taken down by the tugs of the enemy and like the man that build his house on sand, they will come crashing down.

In Conclusion:

Really all there is that we can do is pray. It may not seem like a whole lot, but it really is more than we could ever imagine, because it is true that prayer changes things. It is true that with faith and prayer, what once seemed like a terrible tragedy, can be turned around in to something so much greater than we could have ever thought. Continuously nurture your corn, water it, weed it, help it to grow as strong as it can be. Help it to be as deeply rooted as possible, so that no matter how strong the wind is, it won’t be able to blow it down. And no matter how rough the enemy comes in tugging, they won’t be able to pull it up. It’s not going to be an easy task and I for one am not one to give too much expertise on such issues, however. I must say. With God, it most certainly will not be impossible.

So you see my friends. It appears that the title should make some type of sense now, shouldn’t it? I know that some may have gotten the wrong impression at first glance, but believe you me. That was not my intentions. My only intentions is to help people see a great message of inspiration each time I share something on here, and while there may be times that I become weary and discouraged with everything. I know that with God ALL things are possible and I keep trusting in him for inspiration and he just keeps right on giving it to me.

I hope you liked today’s post and until next time…

The God Of The Mountain

Jul
07

In your walk with Christ you will face many ups and many downs. The ups will always be far greater then your downs, however the downs will likely be more often then your ups. That is the way it goes. I have seen multiple times in my life and in my family’s life where the same God was with us through both.

11117654_1169356379756542_1243764855_nHow is it possible that the same God who ‘allows’ such pain and misery is indeed the SAME God during our good times of love and peace? Because surely no ‘good’ God would ever let any harm come upon us now would he? And if it does, if we were to ever face any hardships in our life then we must not be living for God good enough now are we? If we hadn’t of missed church last Sunday or if we had been going to church more altogether. If we had been doing this, if we had been doing that. What if we had been going to church all of our lives? What if we had served God with all our heart, all our lives? What if we hadn’t of? What if we had of just died when we were laying on the death bed, gasping for air? As I have heard my favorite TV Minister Character (Rev. Eric Camden from my Fav show, 7th Heaven) I have to say.

We can’t play ‘What If’, we can only deal with ‘What Is’ and what is, is this. The Bible tells us, Jesus Christ himself tells us that if wechoose to follow him,we MUST be willing to count the cost. Because there IS a cost that we will pay, DAILY for serving him, for claiming to live in HIM. Too often ministers today try and paint ‘The Christian Life’ as this glamorous lifestyle. One where you never do any work and everything gets handed to you on a gold platter and a velvet pillow. But that isn’t true. Another saying from one of my other ‘real’ favorite TV Ministers, (Billy Graham) is this. (And I am certain I’ve repeated this before, because it’s true.)

“Salvation is free, but discipleship costs everything.” – Rev. Billy Graham

The way of righteousness is straight and narrow is the gate, but the way of hell is broad and wide and it leads to destruction.

He Is Still God In The Valley –

When times are rough, it is often hard to believe that someone really is up there looking out for you. But we must not forget, he is still God of the valley. The same God that was with you when you landed that big real estate deal, he’s the same God with you now while you struggle to pay your bills. Don’t doubt God. While questioning and reasoning is OK and most certainly natural, don’t even do that. Just Believe. Have Faith. He will bring you through, it will be alright. It may be hard to see the brighter side of your situation right now, but believe me when I tell you this. There is a brighter side to every dark day. And most likely, it isn’t too far away. All you need to do is keep holding on.

“Don’t give up, it’s worth it. Just keep trying.” – Obama

(Yes, I quoted the big O’)

It’s like a little light in a huge dark room. It’s not bright enough to light your entire way. Though it is just enough brightness to light up enough ahead of you so you can see your way through. Don’t worry about what is behind you, don’t worry about what is ahead of, just look beside you and God will be there. He’s guarding you from the front, he’s walking beside you and he’s trusting that you’ll never look back. Whoever puts their hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. In the Christian walk we will be given many mountains to climb, (many plows to put our hands to) we must never look back, because each step we take is one less step to glory and one more step from hell. So there is no point in looking back, by the time we reach the top, even though we must go back down. It’s still to far to look back.

In Conclusion:

After each mountain, there will always be another valley and after each valley, there will always be another mountain. Back when I was still struggling with the pain from my mom in 2010, I wrote this short piece about ‘The Christian Life’ it isn’t anything of great extravagance, but it is something of significance.

“With every sorrow there is a joy. With every valley there is a hill. But with every joy there is a sorrow. And with every hill there is a valley. The life of a Christian is not easy. You follow a path that winds through the darkest places only to come out in the brightest of all, then to go back down into the darkest pit only to rise on the highest mountain.” – Nathan Tune

So keep walking my friends, keep climbing. Keep struggling, keep pursuing, keep persevering. Keep fighting the good fight. Keep letting your light shine. Keep rocking on, and keep moving on. Keep your held high and your spirits held higher. Keep your eyes on Christ and your mind on truth. Keep your heart on love and your feet on the rock. Keep picking up your cross, daily.

There Is Still Hope

Jun
09

When you have taken the last step that you think you can take, there is still hope. When you have reached what you say is absolutely the very last destination you will ever reach, just let me take a moment to remind you of something that you might have forgotten while on your journey, there most certainly is ‘still’ hope. Though it seems that all hope may be lost, when you least expect it, it is there for you.

11271140_1141879335837580_152668578_n If you feel as though you have given the last bit of advice you can ever give, there is still hope for more, if it seems as though you are no longer able to care for anyone at all, there is hope. There is hope for you when no one else thinks there is, there is hope for you in the darkest pits of this world, and yes I have to say that absolutely there is hope even when you don’t deserve a second chance, even if you have failed at everything else, you still have hope. Somehow it’s there when you need it the most and deserve it the least, could it be that God cares about his children that much, that he would be so gracious and kind to extend hope to us even though it is certain that we do not deserve one ounce of mercy?

Absolutely, it most certainly is. Why? For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever ‘believeth’ in him should ‘not’ perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) “Everlasting” Eternity, Forever, on and on and on and on and on and on and on! IF – ONLY we would just BELIEVE that HE IS, he is what? He is our LOVE, he is our LORD, he is our GOD, he is our LIGHT he is our JOY, he is our STRENGTH he is the TRUTH, he is the WAY, he is the LIFE, he is EVERYTHING, he IS ‘EVERLASTING’ he is the beginning and the end, he is eternity he is forever, he is HOPE. When we least expected it he was our hope, he came into this dying world and he SAVED it, he gave us new life, he gave us new faith, he gave us new air to breath, new light to see and my friends, he gave us HOPE.

Our Hope Lies In Christ –

I may have mentioned this before on my radio show, but I do not believe that I ever have written about it on my blog post, there is an old song (bet you thought I was gonna say ‘there is still hope’ didn’t ya? Fooled you.) that my grandparents often sing, they learned it from one of their old Pastor’s from when they first got into church, (many moons ago, no, just kidding, only one.) it explains how there is only one hope that we have, and that would be hope in Jesus Christ. It is entitled “Jesus My Hope Is In You” in the lyrics it goes on to say that there is no one else who could possibly carry us through (and if I may elaborate) no one else could ever carry us through such dark times of this wicked world that we face as Christ can, no one else has the power to help us overcome evil with good and no one else deserves praise and honor as he.

Though there are times when satan may try and tempt us to give up and walk away from the path that God has set out before us, we cannot allow him to fool us into believing that what he says is true. He will try and trick us into believing that there is no hope, that our lives aren’t worth much, or anything for that matter. He will laugh at us and get us to feel terrible about ourselves, he will ‘try’ and make us worry about every little thing that you can imagine and he will try to make you think that God doesn’t care about you, that God does not love you. That you aren’t able to be saved from all your sins and before you know it “IF” you let him get in your head, you will soon become a victim to evil mind play of the devil himself.

In Conclusion:

When you’re down and discouraged, and feeling alone, a beggar an outcast, or a man with no home, know that in one special moment your life can be made new, because there is still hope. In Jesus alone. The other day I became worried about something, so I decided to call and find out the outcome so I wouldn’t have to worry anymore, when I got off the phone with the people I wanted to talk with it became clear to me that there was no reason to be so worried, not just yet anyways. And what became even more clear to me was the fact that there was still hope for me. Thus the inspiration for this blog post was born, we all need a little hope in our lives, living in these days don’t we?

We could use it. If you find yourself in a predicament that causes you to start worrying, fear not, remember that even if it doesn’t seem as though it’s there, it is. Hope will always be there, and you will always be able to find it, no matter how big or small the situation is or no matter how unlikely it is that there be any chance at all. I promise you that even if it’s a very small thread, it will be there and it will be something that will help you make it through, it will be what gets you to your next destination and it will be what gets you to the finish line of this race to glory.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope that it has blessed you in some special way my friends, until the next time we blog I pray for you to be continuously be treated the way that you treat others on a daily basis. God bless and as always…

Travelin’ On…

Jun
04

Hello everyone, I titled this post “Travelin’ On” however, I do not know entirely what I am going to say on the subject and please let me warn you ahead of time that I may stray away from topic here and there, I just needed a nice little title for the post so I thought that the one above was a perfect fit. You see, it becomes ever more difficult to find inspiration to give inspiration, to be an inspiration!

airplane-wallpaper-3I am often weary from thinking of what to write next even though I try my hardest to keep these posts scheduled way ahead of time so in a sense I am working each day to travel on with this blogging mission that I have taken upon myself, I do enjoy writing and posting what it is that God has given to, and I love reading all the feedback that I get whether it be negative or positive (though the positives always outweigh the negative) I enjoy being able to shed some kind of light in someones darkest hour and I love to bring hope to the world in some way each day that passes us by. Because I know that there are so many who doesn’t feel as though they can continue traveling on, as matter of fact they feel as though they might have hit their limit, ran their last mile, spent their last ounce of strength and lost their last drop of fuel to get them through.

This may be true for some, however, I am here to say otherwise. It’s my job now isn’t it? Otherwise. There, I said it. You heard me, yes that is correct. OTHERWISE. Otherwise what? OK, how about this. What if you haven’t spent your last ounce of strength or your last drop of fuel, what if you are seconds away from a pit stop and if you give up now you will feel so foolish when you could have gone a few more steps ahead and rejuvenated yourself to keep moving on, but instead you gave up because you didn’t think you could go on any further. When in reality, God had otherwise planned, there was a way, there is always a way. We must find a way to make a way to live the way.

Hold On –

Keep holding on no matter what, we know that it is hard, we know that it isn’t easy, we know that things can become tiresome from time to time but we must not forget to keep holding on to our faith, to hope. Because there most certainly is hope, there always is hope my friends, when we least expect it, hope comes around the corner and slaps us in the face with a wake up call and we are amazed at the way things start to turn. Because when we thought about stopping only seconds from a pit stop, we didn’t, we kept going, we got a rejuvenation and went back out there until our next checkpoint and we kept going.

Along the way we may have faced some dark valleys, some mountains and some storms, we may have had to endure freezing temps and brutal heat waves, we may have had to endure slippery slopes and rugged hills that were almost too hard to get over but by the grace of God we made it and we continue to each day.

In Conclusion:

In the words of one of my favorite TV Ministers of all this world, though he’s not a real Minister at all, rather just a Character from one of my favorite TV Shows called “7th Heaven” he most certainly was an amazing Pastor in the show, and though the man that had the honor and privilege to play the role of “Reverend Eric Camden” has recently had some bad stuff come upon him from some awful things he did in the past. The Character is still the character and the character is amazing.

“You live, you learn, you learn to cope.” – Reverend Eric Camden

And that is so true, in this life we all go through hard times in the struggle we pray for a life line, needing someone to show us the way but we’ve got to have faith. We must continuously grow stronger in our faith each day, because God is our mighty defender.

Thank you for all who have read, may it have blessed you in some way. (Rev. Camden’s quote may have been slightly paraphrased for the sake of not being able to find the actual quote and not being able to remember it fully)

What Is Love?

Jun
03

Guest Post By:  Sarah Grosjean

In our day and age it’s hard to determine what love is because our society has blurred the line between obsession, attraction, lust and love.

11355487_1149677685057745_411527889_n

I looked up the definition of love in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and here was the definition they gave me:

love Noun
:a feeling of strong or constant affection for someone
:attraction that includes sexual desire : the strong affection felt by people who have a romantic relationship
:a person you love in a romantic way

Now, I don’t know about you, but that does not satisfy me.  They’ve clearly defined love as a feeling.  But I would like to argue that love is not a feeling, but rather an action.

Let’s look at what God says love is.  1st Corinthians 13 is often called ‘The Love Chapter’, so I thought we might look at that first.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8King James Version (KJV)
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

There’s the Biblical definition.  Let’s look at it a little bit closer, and break it down a little bit.

vs. 4 “Charity suffereth long, and is kind…” The word Charity in this passage is love.  Love is long-suffering, and is kind.
“…charity envieth not…” Love does not envy.

“…charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up…” Love is not prideful. Love is humble.

vs. 5 “Doth not behave itself unseemly…” Love acts in standards of decency.
“…seeketh not her own…” Love is selfless, and thinks of others first.
“…is not easily provoked…” Love is slow to anger.
“…thinketh no evil…” Love does not think evil of others.

vs. 6 “Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.” Love is not happy when something bad happens, but rejoices in the truth.

vs. 7 “Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
Love bears burdens, love believes in people and hopes the best in people, and edures until the end.

vs. 8 “Charity never faileth…” Love does not fail, or fall out.

As shown, love is not felt, but rather shown, and does. We are given the perfect example of love when we look at Jesus Christ.
Look at John 3:16, which is perhaps one of the most well-known verses in the Bible.

“For God so loved the world that He GAVE his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

You see how it says He loved, and so He gave.  It doesn’t say He loved, and so He had butterflies in His stomach.
I see so many people, young and old, who confuse attraction, obsession or lust with love.

But there is a world of difference between those.  Maybe the reason why so many marriages and relationships end in failure is because people have forgotten the true meaning of love. And when the initial attraction fizzles out, the “fall out of love”.   But that’s simply not how real love works. Loving is making a choice to do something without thinking of ones self, or what we’ll get in return.  It is not an emotion, even though sometimes when we love we have emotions.

Jesus demonstrated that perfectly.  He came to live a life on earth so He could die so that we might have forgiveness, and reconciliation with Him in Heaven.

“Greater love hath no man than this: that a man lay down his life for his friend.” (John 15:13)

That’s exactly what He did.

In conclusion, we are given an example of love.  Now examine your heart, do you love like you’re supposed to?  I think if you are completely honest, all of us can say we’ve come short of loving fully, without thinking of ourselves.  I know I’ve fallen short of perfect love many times.

But with this example, we can strive to be more like Jesus, and love others every day the way God does for us.  But remember, it’s only by God’s grace that we can do it.

We often spend our life trying to protect our most valued items, we store them in a cabinet, on a high shelf far from little ones grasp, or we have them wrapped up in plastic bins out in the garage. Only to use them once a year maybe during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Birthday’s, Wedding Anniversaries, because we don’t want them to get broken, we don’t want to break them.

BrokennessThere is just one thing wrong with that, the most valuable possessions are usually those that are easily broken, because you see my dear friends, even the best can become broken eventually. What is it that I am getting at? Do you feel like you are broken today with no way at all to describe the pain that you feel from all the times you have been wronged? All the times that you have blatantly been lied to, abused, provoked, used, mistreated and deceived by the goodness of your own heart towards mankind, you were only trying to help, you were just trying to be a friend to someone in this dark cold world and all you wanted was to be there for somebody and here you are now, broken to little pieces and you don’t know what goes where.

But God does…

Broken things can many times be easily fixed, other times it takes a little more time and patience, but don’t worry, when it is your life that we are talking about always remember. God is the creator of that life and if anyone can fix it, he can. Will it ever be the same as it was in the beginning? Will things ever go back to normal? That is uncertain, we must always remember that perfect to us may be something far different than what perfect to God is, we may see a burnt pile of a dilapidated building lying on the ground and God may see something so much more beautiful that we couldn’t even begin to imagine the beauty of what that burnt pile of nothingness could be, because we see a burnt building, what God sees is what it once was and what it can be.

RESTORATION –

Allow yourself to be restored, allow God to pick you up in his gentle hands and allow him to begin the process of putting you back together the way that you were supposed to be. Because unlike a broken pot or a broken vase, God won’t use super glue, he’ll take time mending our wounds, he will comfort us and help make us stronger so we aren’t easily broken by the afflictions of this world the next time that they come around slapping us in the face. With their mockery and their laughter of everything that we stand for, everything that we claim to live in and all that we are, with the help of God we will no longer allow evil to overcome us, we will no longer allow it to break us down into little pieces of nothingness, we will overcome evil with good and we will break it down in our lives to little pieces of nothingness.

We will rise above the situation in our life no matter how tough it may be, no matter how rough we have to get and no matter how dark it may get, we will shine our way through and we will come out in victory over the enemy, because if we don’t then we will not have a single chance of making it anywhere, not in this life or the next, we have to be as bold as we can be and we have to realize that being broken is not always such a bad thing. We also have to learn that we can’t be so afraid to use the most valuable items in our house because we are afraid of breaking them.

I was washing the dishes the other day and I’ve noticed that my favorite McDonald’s Coca Cola glasses keep going down in number and the reason for that, is because we keep breaking them, not on purpose of course. There are accidents that occur which cause us to break them without any way of stopping it from happening, I was thinking of not using them anymore but then what is the point of having a glass and not being able to use it? Ahh, you see what I mean by that? What is the point of having this vessel and not using it?

In Conclusion:

What is the point of dedicating this vessel to God and not allowing him to use it? Because we are too valuable, too vulnerable and will be oh so easily broken? How in any way or in any life is that at all an logical excuse? It isn’t and here’s why, yes it is true, the most valuable things are those that are easily broken, but, those that are of the highest quality are not. What am I saying? By allowing God to have full control of our lives and every decision that we make he can make us far more valuable then we ever were, because we are of far more value to him then we are to anyone else in this world.

And he can also make us of a higher quality, does that mean we will be better than others? Does that mean that we will not be able to be broken down like others? Of course not, I didn’t say that things of a higher quality are NOT broken at all, I simply said that they are not so EASILY broken, meaning that through God being made of a higher quality then we were before we can be made stronger and much more durable to withstand against the wiles of the devil, we will become broken from time to time, yes. However, when we do, each time we will grow less and less likely to break again.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope that it has blessed you in some way.

Recognition

So many times in this life we lose the brightest souls the world would have ever known, we do not even realize that as we pass that stranger on the corner of the street that we may be standing in the presence of pure greatness. We are so caught up in our own little world that we do not take the time to look into someone else’s, not even for a moment.

7036834-sky-colors-wallpaperAnd then we see on the news about this great young boy, or this magnificent young girl, never did anything but love their families, love life, school, was bright, smart, fun, kind, caring, considerate, talented. And all within a split second, gone. Gone much too soon, and the world will never get to know the sheer joy of having them in their lives, because it will then be too late. And the world will all of a sudden grow that much darker, because we let radiance and greatness pass us by, because we were too busy to stop and say hi…

Don’t let another day pass you by where you let another soul slip right out of your sight without even giving them a simple smile as you walk by, or a “how are you?” Make a difference, be a difference, see the difference in the world when you observe the beauty around you, because there is more beauty than we think, we just have to open our eyes and acknowledge it. Open your eyes today, stop missing out and discover all that’s possible, starting with a simple hello.

People Of The Past –

When I was younger I remember these two specific young guys that I knew. I was only 4 years old and that was from my time up in the big city of St. Louis. I often wonder about what happened to them. Did they ever grow up to make something great of themselves? Or did they become entrapped in the environment that they were in? I may never know. There are some nights that it really gets to me and I begin praying for them. I pray that they did make something of themselves. I pray that they are doing OK and accomplishing all that they ever dreamed. It might seem crazy. But it’s just how I am, I really do care about these things.

I wrote once about some short encounters with people that I’ve met in the past, they were just doing their job or maybe they were just in the waiting room. Or the checkout line. It didn’t make no difference. They still made a small impression on me, for whatever reason it may be. That I am not sure. However, what I am sure of it this. I hope that they too have been blessed with all of their dreams in this life. I do not know their names and I do not know where they could be now. But I do know that they are very real when they come into my thoughts. So what can I do? Nothing really, but in all incidents in life, whether we know the person long at all or not and whether they are a friend to us. That doesn’t matter. We can be a friend to them, sometimes it will be hard and sometimes we shouldn’t even get involved at all. But, we will know when to and when we do will make a great difference.

In Conclusion:

In life, there will be times when we lose people close to us. Maybe people that we only met once but made a great impression upon us and then we read or see in the news that they have passed on from some terrible incident, and all of a sudden we begin to wonder so many thoughts. What could have been going through their head? Why? Who of my friends will be next? Will more of my friends be the next one? You are left unknowing of the next time something like this might happen. So all you really can do is hope and pray to God that it doesn’t. You start paying a lot more recognition to those around you, even more then you once did before.

Because you don’t want to do or say the wrong thing and have them be your last words. You want to be the best person that you can so if something like that were to ever happen again, at least you were all you could be. My proposition to all of you would be to do this one simple thing today, and everyday. Go out today, be you, be bold, be courageous, be kind, be loving.

Be a friend…

Hate – Fluff & The Bible

May
26

Life is like a chocolate cream filled Donut, if you cut it open in half, it can then be divided into two sides. Each side being what man considers to be right and wrong. However, it appears that there is still the cream to be dealt with. What is the cream? The cream is the truth, and the truth will forever abide.

IMG_3609

The Bible can be used for many things, comfort, peace, joy, relief. Something to help you cope with life or something to help you merely get by when things aren’t going the way you planned. You can use it to beat people down, or use it to raise them up. It can be used to fool people and it can be used to hurt people. Sometimes that hurt can be intentional, other times it isn’t completely intentional or it may not even be intentional at all. The Bible can make people cry tears of pain or laugh, laughs of mockery. Or it can make them cry tears of joy and sorrow for Christ’s death and laugh laughs of bubbling joy that only comes from the Spirit of God.

The Bible can be dangerous to the soul when interpreted the wrong way or it can be wondrous to the soul when spoken in it’s full truth. It can either be used to hate everything and everyone to hell, or love everything and everyone to hell. Or it can be used to love people with true love, with truth and boldness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the choice is left up entirely to us. Whether we decide to make the right one is another story. Let us not forget, the side of truth will always reign most high above all else. So let us stand for truth, let us teach truth and let us defend TRUTH.

There Is An Equal Balance –

I am constantly telling everyone I know that there IS an equal balance to the scriptures. You see, most Christian’s today either want to be so strict that they almost choke themselves off from God and others with rules, or they are so filled with a wishy washy lovey dubby love that they fall into the trap of using ‘grace’ as an excuse to sin. And neither of those are good ways to lead a walk with God, The Almighty. I see so much HATE today, whether it’s angry Christian’s or angry gay’s or angry atheists it does not make no difference. Hate is hate. If the Christian’s hold up a sign saying that “God Hates Gay People” then the atheists and gays are most likely to retaliate with an even bigger sign saying that “God Hate’s Signs” or “F*** this guy.”

But don’t get me wrong, the tables can turn and the events can go both ways. Gays and atheists can hold up their signs of hate to Christian’s and Christian’s have been known to retaliate right back in the same hateful ways, which in turn continues to feed into a never ending cycle of ‘fueling fire with fire.’ When will it end? Is it at all possible that we could BOTH just once stop trying to solve our problems with HATE and instead in turn try and actually LISTEN to one another? Will we agree? Probably not, but what is the point of hating? Where is that getting us? But let us not confuse HATE with TRUTH or strong held beliefs.

The Bible Speaks Truth –

As a Christian, I believe every single word of the bible. I will admit that there are many things I have yet to understand and many more things that I may never understand in this life, however. That is just fine. You know why? Not once in the scripture did Christ tell me that I MUST understand everything, rather he said this.

Scripture Verse:

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. – Mark 16:31 KJV

(I got that from one of Rev. Billy Graham’s old sermons.) A very smart and anointed man he is, and his son is stepping into his line of work just fine. Many times he is criticized for spewing ‘hate’ when in reality all he is doing is professing his faith, now what exactly is it any good to the world for a ‘Christian’ to not believe what he says he believes? Or even better, for a ‘Christian’ not to actually go out and ‘PRACTICE’ what he preaches. I mean, isn’t this the cause of us getting so harshly judged for by the left, is us not being ‘Christian’ enough? Yet, for whatever reason. When we actually DO show our faith, the liberal media and angry atheist’s just go into a wild frenzy making accusations of us ‘spewing hate’.

Scripture Verse:

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? – Galatians 4:16 KJV

Well, I guess I am. And I would much rather be the enemy of MAN than be the enemy of an all powerful, all knowing and all seeing Almighty God. There are those among us in the church world today that do not believe we should call out sin in the church or in the world when we see it. They tell us that is not biblical, it’s judgmental. “You can’t judge other people’s convictions. We have ALL sinned and all have fallen short.” Yes, yes we have. However, we are meant to be free now. I have no problem with people falling in their walk with Christ ‘occasionally’ (meaning rarely) we are all prone to that, it is our human nature. However, our human nature is NO excuse to continue on in a willful sin. Just as Grace is no excuse either.

In Conclusion:

The lesson to be learned is this, be very wise in how you use your bible. Because there is only one right way to use it, but many wrong ways. And it can be so easy to use his word as an excuse and even easier to use it to hurt people. Using it as an excuse to sin is just as bad or worse than those who use it to torment people and crucify others and judge them in an unrighteous fashion. What may seem right can many times be wrong and what may seem wrong can be wrong.

However, there is indeed an equal balance to the scripture. We must not love or beat others to hell, and we cannot speak so softly that our words are misunderstood or so loudly that we scare everyone away. Rather we need to present his word and his truth with utmost sincerity, utmost love and utmost dedication to the cause of holiness and truth. Because even though the bible can be used for many things, it’s one true purpose is to guide people, to teach people.

To lead them to the truth of salvation and holiness, to lead them to God. Christ. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog post and until next time let me wish you a blessed day.
