Just ‘Steep’ A Little While…

Mar
05

No, I said that right the first time,It’s meant to be ‘Steep’ not ‘Sit.’ Yes, STEEP. S T E E P. You know, like steeping a good cuppa? A nice hot British brew? C’mon, really? You seriously got nothing at all? Ahh…

576A2A15-2A1C-46F5-8FD6-B4E9659C9ED1 (1)

Of course! Gone are the days of classic British Tea-Making techniques aren’t they? This is Murica’ we drink ‘Coffee’.Believe me, I’m not a diddly squat against coffee, I love it. Tea can often be so much better for us, on so many different levels. There are many different types of teas out there, with many different proven, and ‘effective’ benefits for all kinds of symptoms. However, today I would just like to talk about one plain type of tea in general.

BLACK TEA –

  • The specific brand in general that I prefer the most is known as England’s #1 Tea, which is called pg_tips_logo_beau(PG TIPS) as featured in the picture to your left, and above. If you’d like to get some of your own, I have found the greatest deal for you, just click on the image to your left. It’s the best price around, trust me. It is good quality Tea, and worth it.

For people with high blood pressure, a large consumption of caffeine is simply not healthy at all. As we know, Coffee has the strongest, and highest amounts of caffeine levels in it among all other caffeinated beverages, including soda. In addition, there are many great tasting teas without any caffeine at all. Well, for those of us who need a little bit of a pick me up in the mornings, a bit of a caffeine can do the trick. Which is why I have chosen Black tea to be my sole choice of drink in the morning. While it is a tea with the most caffeine among it’s kind, It has a significant lower amount of caffeine then a cup of coffee. The darkest, and strongest brew of coffee has almost double the amount of a good cuppa.

Drinking lots of coffee will leave you crashing hard later, while tea will give you a nice boost without the groggy caffeine crash afterwards. Well, enough with all this, I’m sure most of you reading this right now are getting quite bored with my talks of tea aren’t you? I’m not entirely finished yet, but I will take a moment to explain.

Today, I would like to teach y’all how to make a classic, and proper cuppa British Tea. Which not even all, most, or possibly any British people even drink, and know how to make, or even care about it anymore, but I do. In the process of this, I would also like to help you learn how a good cuppa, and a good relationship with Christ, can go hand in hand. Please, for a moment do just bear with me. Furthermore, you see my friends, the term ‘Steep’ means to ‘soak’  a kind of something (most likely tea leaves) in hot water. The longer it steeps, the stronger it will soon become.

Let’s start with step one of making a proper cuppa British Tea. (Taught to me from a Youtube Video I found by a British Tea-Making Master himself)

Step 1:

Fill the Kettle with water, (YES an ACTUAL Kettle) not some sort of modern age coffee pot hot water heater/ boiler metal/plastic machine thing. Why use a Kettle instead of something else? Something else like one of those little hot water heaters on the side of your coffee pot? Not because it’s wrong. No, It’s OK to do that, I’ve done it, but the results are not the same as they are when you boil the water yourself until the little tea pot screams like a wild bob-cat in the wilderness. Whichever one seems more appealing to you, it’s your choice. When the tea isn’t as strong or bold, and It appears to be weaker, I believe it’s because those little water heaters do not get the water as hot as your stove top burner can. I’ve never used one of those electric kettle’s, but I know that many real live British people have, and it seems to work fine. Me, I’ll just use what I have.

How can this relate you to Christ in anyway? Through studying God’s word, a good cuppa, and a good bible verse should go hand in hand. Nowadays, you see, too many churches have become too modernized. This is coming from someone who should embrace the modernism!. Everyone wants an easier, and faster way to do things. As a result, with easy, and with fast you end up with weak, and feeble Spiritual influence. It takes time to become good, and strong in God. As it takes time with a good cuppa, as anything good takes time. Back to the tea, if you are making a pot of tea for 6 people, then you want to have 6 ounces of water per person which would be a little over 36 ounces of water.

Set that to boil.

Note: *For those of you who want your tea to be extra ‘British-y’ OR to stay hot longer while it’s setting all by it’s lonesome in the pot. First, just boil a kettle of water, then pour it into the teapot covering it, and let it set a few minutes while you start your measured amount of water to boil, and then pour out that water, and place the lid back on.*

Step 2:

Once the water has boiled, either place your tea leaves into the pot or your tea bags. Then, you want to have one teaspoon of tea leaves per person, and one teaspoon for the pot to make it stronger to your taste. Once your tea leaves/bags are properly placed, that is when you will pour the hot water OVER them evenly. Then, cover it with the lid, and let it steep for at least 5 minutes exactly, not a second more, or a second less. This step is crucial to achieve the perfect, and utmost proper cuppa. The reason being is this, as we learned earlier in this post, the longer the tea steeps/soaks in the hot water, the stronger and bolder it will get.

So, it is the same with us, and Christ! How, you ask? The longer we steep/soak (STUDY) In His Word, the stronger, and bolder for Christ we will become! It is true! The more we root ourselves in His Word, the more likely we are to stand strongly, and boldly for His truth. Yet, at the same time, we cannot allow ourselves to steep/soak/study too long. Yes, It can be too much sometimes, and even the Bible can be a bad thing. Please, don’t get it twisted. Moreover, the reason for timing your tea’s steeping process is so crucial to the tea-making process.

If the tea steeps for a minute longer then it is supposed to, it will likely become too bitter for your tasting. There is a great difference in being strong, bold, and bitter. Strong, it’s good, it is what you look for in a good British cuppa. Bold is also good, but bitter is not. Bitter is not strength, bitter is not bold, and it can go the other way as well. Bold isn’t bitter, and strength is not bitter either. Sometimes many people will study themselves out of God’s truth, completely ignoring His truths, and convincing themselves that they don’t even matter anymore.

Then there are those who study to the point that they think they know it all, and one could not ever know it all. Therein lies your reasons why studying too much can often be a bad thing. As long as you study with a humble heart, you can get as much of His Word as you like without ever going down these dark paths. That’s just the thing though, to read His Word, one must read it with an open, and humbled heart. Otherwise, you can also become downright haughty, and bitter to all the world around. You’ll be consumed with wanting to save the world, and in your mind you may think that your reasoning’s are right, but in your heart you will have forgotten the most important thing of all, LOVE.

Truth – Love – Boldness

It’s a phrase that I’ve been preaching constantly. You can be a Bold and Strong Christian for Christ without ever losing one ounce of LOVE or Truth. The Modern day churches are so consumed with the concept of  ‘love, love, love’ these days. And not without entire biblical ground. But missing parts of the bible nevertheless. Love is a huge and sole part of the bible and it is the foundation of Grace and everything we hold dear and primarily what Christ stands for. But not entirely.

If there is Love without condemnation of sin, then there is no love at all. Christ spoke boldly and he did so in love. In the scripture that many modern day believers like to quote where he said he did not come to condemn the world but to save it, he goes on to say that the world is already condemned if it does not believe in him and to believe in him is to turn away from your sins and commit yourself to him.

Therefore, one can have a strong, bold tasting cuppa, without having that bitter aftertaste. It just takes time, patience and a little bit of humbling of yourselves to take a slower, harder path. Because the easy way, isn’t necessarily the best way. Nor the fast way, or the most accepted way.

Finally, we find ourselves at the final step.

Step 3:

Once your tea has steeped for the proper time, remove your teabags, or if you chose to use loose tea leaves, then use a strainer to pour your cuppa, but not so fast, there is still a few more things to be done. If you like cream in your tea (which for a perfect cuppa is desired, but not required) you will want to take this moment to put a small amount of creamer into your cup.

That’s right! Put the cream (in) your cup BEFORE you pour the tea. The reason for this being is many, but the most believable is this, It is said that back in the day, common-folk who did not have much money couldn’t afford sturdy cups. The fragile cups would break, and crack when the hot liquid would be poured into it, so to keep this from happening they added creamer to the cup beforehand. Whatever the reason, all these seemingly ‘silly’ tea-making steps are what truly helps you to achieve the utmost proper cuppa.

Finally, sit down, and enjoy your nice hot cuppa with some lumps of sugar, or sugar cubes, or even a natural sugar free sweetener. With a friend, or by yourself early in the morning, or late in the evening to warm you up, have a hot cuppa of tea. As a result, the hot cuppa of tea will settle you down, or cheer you up all while digesting one of your favorite biblical passages.

In Conclusion:

Coffee Or Tea? (Just for the sake of today’s blog post, not for the rest of your life. I, myself still enjoy a nice hot cup of dark roasted coffee). As an experiment for this bog post, tell me in the comment section. Which will you go have yourself right now? Coffee, or Tea? It’s just fine, and dandy if you choose coffee over tea, that is your choice. I’d still like to know, and along with it, I would like to know why. My reasoning of writing this post was not to persuade you into drinking black tea over coffee for the rest of your lives, I could never hope to do that in my wildest dreams.

My true purposes for writing this blog was to simply explain the importance of how a strong relationship with Christ is like a good cuppa tea. Christ said He would prefer that we be hot, or we be cold. I enjoy iced cold sweet tea like any other southerner, and I most definitely enjoy a nice hot cuppa black tea. When my tea is lukewarm, it’s very distasteful, and it causes me to spew it out. Just as Christ will spew us out as it is written in the book of Revelation 3:16, So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.
. Make your stand with God, be on fire for Christ, be strong, bold, and robust in His truths. You can do so without having one ounce of bitterness in you. Because, it’s who we are called to be. My family, and I by many of our relatives, including my mom have been called us bitter for the stands we take on God’s truths.  Those who truly know us best, truly know me best, they know better.

With my all the pain my Mother has chosen to cause me throughout my life, and even with all the hatred my family, and I have received from our relatives, I, myself have chosen to be better, not bitter. Furthermore, nothing can or ever will break me. I will only continue to grow stronger in Christ,so when the fire comes, I’ll be ready. As I always am, as we all should let ourselves be, because those who come to harm us wish to see us destroyed, and wish to see us turned into something utterly disgusting, and pitiful, damaged by the flames.

However, we will use the flames to our advantage, we will come out better, stronger, and more praising of God then ever. Why? Because, we will come through, and how can we not praise God for bringing us through? People ask me why I believe like I do. The answer is very simple, I have seen what faith does, and to think what I’ve seen is just a small taste. It is a small fraction of how big, and mighty our God is. That should excite us all.

Until next time my good friends, God bless y’all.

Building A Kingdom

Jul
28

Today so many times Pastors can be easily swept up into this idea of building an earthly kingdom. When in reality, we are supposed to be building a heavenly kingdom, for GOD. A spiritual kingdom, where people’s spirits are raised up. Rather then their comfort levels of themselves and the church they are attending, because true peace comes from full truth of the word of God.

11007706_1087180361307478_505414202_n

Awhile back I did an audio drama story about how important it is that we stop focusing on structural buildings, money and all of these ‘man-made’ doctrines. And just start looking on the truth of his word, start preaching and sharing that truth with others so that they will be saved. Instead of trying to get them to give you their tithes so you can go out and buy a new jet or new building expansions, here’s a crazy idea. How about telling them to get right with God? How about preparing them for what is to come ‘spiritually’? Why not try to help strengthen them for bad times that may come in their walk with Christ? Instead of lying to them and telling them that God won’t allow any pain or harm to come upon them just because they’ve been ‘born again.’

We all know that is a false doctrine. We all know that the very minute we walk into will that God has had planned for us since the start of all time, everything will turn completely chaotic. All hell will break loose. Out of nowhere it will seem as if the sky has came crashing down on top of you, unmercifully. Does this mean that God doesn’t love you? No. It means that he loves you enough to walk along the roadside WITH you as you endure this pain. He LOVES you, and because he loves you. He doesn’t want you to be fooled into feeling or believing as if living for him will be a walk through the roses. As matter of fact. He actually tells you in scripture to count the cost to see if you really want to take the risk of living for him.

It Takes Everything –

I have quoted this line from the Rev. Billy Graham many times. Because it’s true. While salvation most definitely free, we also have to take into consideration. That discipleship will cost us EVERYTHING. How can this be? Look at all the disciples in the bible that walked with Jesus, look at where they all ended up. Dead. In some way shape or form, they were brutally crucified for walking the faith of our Lord and Savior. They were martyred for simply preaching and teaching in ‘The NAME” of Jesus Christ. And we see the same thing in today’s time happening all around us. Everywhere you look, people are losing their lives for claiming to be in Christ, every minute you turn around. People are dying, while building the kingdom of God.

They aren’t living in mansions bigger than a super mall while doing this. They aren’t preaching fluff and puff, they aren’t getting all the riches of the world. They might not even have much money at all. Like you and like me, (the average Christian) they are but travelers through this world of woe. Strangers you could say. Knowing that by grace we are saved and by faith we can endure all things with God whom are all things possible. We know that the road to building a kingdom isn’t as grand as many TV Preachers make it out to be today, but we also know that there is a great reward for us in heaven. Aha! There is is! There must be some kind of prize for having to endure such a hard life on this earth, right?

In Conclusion:

Yes! And what is it? Is it cars? Money? Million dollar mansions? The best paying job that there is? Fame? Popularity? How about a lot of friends? No. So what could it possible be? Oh wait! I KNOW! How about we ask Jesus what our prize is? OK, I’ll ask him.

Scripture Verse:

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
 – Matthew 5:12 KJV

There we are! Greater is our reward where? Did Jesus say, Earth? NO. He said, HEAVEN! So does this mean that we cannot have an ounce of peace on this earth? Absolutely not. What this means is, our main goal in building a kingdom should not be receiving a whole lot of money, or having all the possessions of the world. Fame, popularity, no. Our goal should be to see people saved, to see people come to the alter and become truly reborn. Baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost, bursting with his joy. Exceeding in his holiness.

That, is our goal. For more information about my audio drama, please. CLICK HERE

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope that it has blessed you in some way and until next time.

I’m Not Sorry.

May
05

Church these days isn’t what it once was two generations ago, not even one generation, I have never experienced or seen Church the way that maybe my Grandma would have or even the way my mom might have. d6923642636390a5c515cc858a362addIt appears to me that over the course of time our Church has grown weak, feeble, soft (If I may) it seems to me that the Church has grown selfish, worldly and losing all sight of what the main purpose of everything is really about, and when that happens then all things good can easily become lost, people can begin letting all manner of sin in the house of God, what was once unimaginable and unthinkable is now accepted as normal it appears to me that we are failing. We are failing God, those that will come behind us, our country and we are failing ourselves, it’s a crying shame, I have noticed more and more in these days that there are far too many ‘Apologetic’s’ behind the pulpits (and I don’t mean theology) but I for one am NOT sorry for what I believe, I am NOT sorry that I believe upon the Gospel Of Jesus Christ.

I will not constantly try to smooth talk my way through a message that I know good and well has come from the word of God and from the Holy Ghost’s guidance, I will not continuously look out for your feelings like you are some little helpless child that needs to be watched over every minute of the day, and no, I won’t try and shout you down, I won’t mistreat you or purposely try to make you feel condemned, that is not my goal my only goal as a servant of Christ is to share his message with others wherever I go, without apology for however it may offend someone.

My only goal is to reach out in genuine love for you as a follower of Christ who cares greatly for the well being of your soul, that is my only goal. If in someway you are offended, condemned or hurt by whatever message I give, that is not of my own doing, that is not my problem, and I will NOT apologize for preaching what I believe God has called me to preach.

The Holy Ghost Convicts:

Does anyone remember services where you would walk in and if you weren’t where you were supposed to be with God you would know it by the power of the Holy Ghost in the Church? That’s the problem though, at the end of last week I mentioned that the modern church is afraid to mention the power of the Holy Ghost and because of this sin is easily able to infect our churches and it’s people, and this can easily become a great obstruction for us as Christians.

When you aren’t spiritually ready to face the enemy then it can quickly devour you along with it and what you meant for good can so rapidly turn into something devastating, now it isn’t wrong at all to try and reach out to everyone that you possibly can, but at the same time, there are instances where the enemy will send in someone ‘purposely’ to try and destroy the church, it happens all the time and I myself have seen this in my own life, and if we as a people aren’t ready in Spirit then it can devour us, the bible tells us that there is conviction that comes from the power of the Holy Ghost, such conviction has been lost today, but if any feel convicted one bit while reading or hearing anything I have to say, let this be known unto them.

  • For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12 KJV
  • And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: – John 16:8 KJV (Jesus Speaking of the Holy Ghost)

The truth of the Gospel will bring people to the acknowledgement of their wrong doings by the power of the Holy Ghost all on it’s on, we don’t need to do any extra effort in trying to make people feel bad and we most certainly shouldn’t, and that isn’t my goal, my number one goal is to bring people to acknowledge his truth as I know it, I will always share this word with others knowing that it is the infallible word of the one true God, and that is another thing.

In Conclusion:

I am NOT sorry that I believe in the one true God of this entire universe who is Jesus Christ, King of kings and the Lord of lords, he is the great I AM and the I AM HE and I will not apologize for believing that HE IS everything and more, that is what we need, we need an unapologetic movement of God’s church, not filled with anger or hate, but people that are filled with a great passion and LOVE for Christ, for his word and for what he has done for us, THE Church now more than ever needs to rise up unashamed for Christ’s word like never before.

  • For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. – Romans 1:16 KJV

Are you ‘ashamed’? I am not, and I will not ever allow anyone to try and push me into a corner out of fear or anger either, nor will I try to do anyone else the same, rather I will continue to speak the truth of the word of God without apologizing for it’s holiness and I will love with a Christ like love, and I encourage everyone else to do the same, because it is the only way, it is HIS way, it is the way that we are all supposed to go down no matter how hard things may get from time to time, we must all keep moving on.

And we must all say that NO, we are NOT sorry for being who WE are, we are NOT sorry for loving Christ, we are NOT sorry for upholding his righteousness, we are NOT sorry for believing in his word and we most certainly are NOT sorry for living for him, the one TRUE God.

Until next time…

Fears Of The Church…

Apr
24

Oh, hello there, I didn’t see you there. Welcome back to my heavenly abode, I was just getting ready for a new post, if you would like to join me you are more than welcome to, pull up a seat and get comfortable.

11146085_1117440251614822_1963915829_nI would like to talk with you today about three main fears of the modern church today, and while this can be a very touchy subject for some people, just because something was a touchy subject hasn’t yet stopped me from speaking about such issues before and it won’t start now, so let’s just get started with identifying the three main fears of the church today, why don’t we?

  •  1. The BLOOD

It is a very key factor in the scripture that there is great POWER in his blood, yet many of the modern day churches seem to continue on in removing the ‘blood’ out of their songs, their messages and even in their average conversations with one another, but why is it that people are so afraid to speak of his blood that was shed so we could all have eternal salvation?

  • For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. – Matthew 26:28 KJV
  • In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: – Colossians 1:14 KJV
  • And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is NO remission.

The old song goes that there is POWER in the blood, and it is true, we as Christians have the authority to claim his blood in whatever situation we are in, we are saved by his blood, we are cleansed by his blood we are made new through his blood and his blood alone, demons flee at the sight of his blood, without being covered in his blood we are doomed and I for one am not ashamed of his blood.

However, the blood can be combined with another feared power of the modern church.

  • 2. The NAME Of JESUS

Through the word of God we also know that there is GREAT power found only in the NAME of our Lord and Savior JESUS Christ, power strong enough to make demons tremble at the very utterance of it, and power strong enough to heal the sick in body, powerful enough to cleanse us of all our sins, a name with such power that when we call upon it and profess to live by it daily we are saved from death, hell and the grave, yet so many in the modern Church for whatever reason whether it be political or outright fear in spirit they take great precautions in mentioning the precious name of Jesus in a way that would issue a command of authority.

Scripture tells us:

  • And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. – Matthew 28:18 KJV
  • Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

So many ‘Christians’ claim to believe these things, but when it comes down to the going getting rough they don’t really wanna get ‘tough’ in their faith, they deny Jesus and as it says in timothy, they say they know God yet they deny the power thereof and this is sadly what we are seeing in the modern church today.

There is one last combined power that MUST be combined with the power of the blood and Jesus name.

  • 3. The HOLY GHOST

Those of us (like myself) that have experienced it can only go from that, there is really no other way to try and describe the feeling that comes from the power of the Holy Ghost, we can try but no one will really truly ever understand it until they have come to experience it themselves, and while some people think that it’s demonic work of satan they are wrong, and they will just have to take it up with Jesus.

  • But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. – Acts 1:8 KJV
  • The Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. – Acts 3:6 KJV
  • How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. – Acts 10:38 KJV
  • And it came to pass that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

In Conclusion:

From the scriptures above we have learned that through the blood of Jesus, through the name of Jesus, with the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to lay hands on the sick and heal them, not of our own power but of the great power of God that only comes from calling on his name, when the blood of Jesus is made combined with his name and the Holy Ghost then we know that great things can happen.

William Booth (Founder Of Salvation Army) Once Said:

“The Chief danger of the 20th century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and Heaven without Hell.” –

My friends we have arrived to the point where the modern church is filled with such fear to mention any of those key factors in the above quote, especially hell.

  1. Fear to even mention the BLOOD.
  2. Fear to even pray in JESUS NAME.
  3. Fear to even talk about the POWER of the HOLY GHOST.

Brothers, Sisters, there is nothing to fear when it comes to these three key factors of our beliefs, as matter of fact above all else we should be encouraged by knowing that we have authority over this demonic world through his blood, his name and the Holy Ghost, we should rejoice in the fact that these core beliefs make us stand out and stand bold for him, as a bright light reflecting him and his TRUE power.

We must all strive to be better each day, until next time my dear friends remember, continue on in fighting the good fight of faith, so that in the end you may be able to say 2 Timothy 4:7
