Make An Impression!

They always say first impressions are important. What kind of first impression would you say that you make on a person – a good one or a bad one? Or even worse, a boring one?

Sun 2

One thing for sure I don’t think anyone has ever told me is that I am boring. And God knows nobody has ever told anyone in my family that they are boring!

Funny thing, that is, but really you don’t wanna leave a bad first impression on someone, now do you? If you leave a person’s life without making the greatest impression that you can, then here again you have not been letting your light shine. And when you aren’t letting your light shine, you’re not sharing hope in everyone.

I know I’m getting a little repetitive with this, but I mean come on, it isn’t something that is a once-a-year thing. Making sure you are letting your light shine is something that should be done 365 days a year!

Maybe it’s because those who are hurting are still on my mind, but the thing is, I don’t think they will ever get off my mind because the situation isn’t something that can be easily forgotten for me. As long as there is hurting in this world, I will continue to feel and hurt for them.

It amazes me so many times how even someone who claims to be a man of God will drive right on by a hurting person in need (most of the times because he is too busy for them and has much more important work to do for the kingdom of God). Like what though? Oh I’ve got to get to church and put in my tithes so we can get a taller steeple.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”- Matthew 9:13 K.J.V.

Jesus came and ate and drank with the sinners, though we can’t seem to show the same kindness as he once did? Why is that? What preacher do you have? What church do you go to? How did you miss that part in the bible? You see, the thing wrong here is that how is the church supposed to expect anybody to get saved if the visitors’ first impression is “I’m not wanted here”? Well, how else are they supposed to feel when it is the truth? Most churches, they become too caught up in themselves and building this huge tabernacle and they tend to forget who Jesus is – King of Kings, our Savior came to call to repentance in the first place.

Instead we turn our heads and look the other way.

Too much work for God to do today; let’s just ignore their pain and walk away. WRONG! How could anyone claiming to be a Christian following Christ turn away from what is wrong? What the world needs – and most importantly what God needs here  – is people who care and aren’t lazy, people who can stand up for whats right and not turn away from what is wrong without doing anything, because all that it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to sit back and do nothing. I know that the world isn’t full of all bad people but I do believe there are a lot of good people doing nothing – and that is even worse then committing the sins of this world yourself.

People ,while saying their eyes are on Jesus, are just kidding themselves a lot of the times because what their eyes are really on is a worldly possession. The church building is a possession. It’s a thing. God doesn’t care about that big sanctuary. Christ didn’t say he was coming back for the biggest, most beautiful, richest church in the world. What good is a big, beautiful, rich church if your heart is small and cold, your soul is ugly, and your faith is poor? Christ didn’t say he was coming back for any type of denomination. He said he was coming for HIS people. Who are his people? Those who follow his word and live by his example.

That’s all it takes folks. Trust me: come judgement day, you don’t want to be the one who turned and looked the other way. You don’t wanna be the one who ignored their pain. You don’t wanna be the one who walked away and made a terrible impression.

You wanna be the one who left footprints of love in their hearts forever…

MAKE AN IMPRESSION!

God bless y’all!

Sincerely,
