The Best Job

Jun
16

Those of you that have followed me since I started this blog, you know that I have struggled since the day we moved here to get a job. It has taken me almost 3 years, but finally I have got a job. Not just any job though, the job that I have wanted since the day we first moved here.

philadelphia-movie-theaters1

I do not know what it is that I have felt a pulling to this place since the first day I saw it, but I have. As soon as I got settled in to our new home, I began calling to see if they would be hiring. The first minute that they were I went to them and got an application and filled it out and even landed an interview. However, I did not land the job that time. I was quite discouraged, but I continued on looking for a job anyways. I just could not understand and I still can not understand why it is that everywhere I went I could not get a job no matter how hard it is that I tried.

I went dressed up, I went dressed down. I wore casual, business casual, suits, ties, no tie, my shirt tucked in. You name it, I tried it. I searched for a job within a 50 plus mile radius from our home and at all manner of places. I tried “Whataburger, Mcdonalds, Pizza Hut, Dollar General, Family Dollar, local grocery stores.” Anywhere and everywhere that I thought I could work, I put in an application. Though I did make a few exceptions. I would not put in an application at Wal-Mart, Kroger, Walgreens or even CVS Pharmacy (it was called CVS Pharmacy when I was applying) because I would not and will not sell people Alcohol or Cigarettes, I can not consciously sell people something that I believe is wrong in a moral and health matter. CVS Pharmacy may have stopped selling Cigarettes and now they call themselves ‘CVS Health’ but they still sell alcoholic beverages, such as beer, which can be very bad for ones liver, it has nothing to do with health.

All In Due Time –

After much prayer, much fasting and much effort in searching for a job. I finally decided to just give up the search and do my best to help my Grandparents with what I could and after awhile I got back in to searching and then I just stopped again. Then one day, I was riding home with my Uncle from another little town not far from us, where we had just seen the movie called “Home” for whatever reason I felt urged to stop by our local movie theater to see if they were hiring and to pick up an application, I do not know why. But I do as I feel led. We pulled up in there and I asked them if they were, it turns out that they were. I filled in another application and turned it in the next day, I did a check up on it the next week or so and then the day after that I got an interview.

After my interview, I did a few more check up calls, I really was interested in the job. I wanted that to be shown as much as possible. After all, I’ve been really interested in a job there since the day we first moved here. (That’s right, this is the job that i’ve felt pulled to since day one) Why it is that I could not get a job there sooner I do not know, but what I do know is that God always has his reasoning’s, he always has his purpose. He always has his perfect timing. We may not know when, we may not know why. And we may not know how, we may never know. But we do know that all things work together for the good to them that love God.

In Conclusion:

It was Monday, May 25th. Memorial Day, I had just finished taking some burgers off the grill and I was making lunch. I had already given up on actually getting the job, because I did not get a call when I thought I would. So I was very surprised to receive a call that day. I got the job! With what seemed like only moments after that, a tornado came through and really tore up the town. I wasn’t able to go pick up my paper work to fill out until a few days after, and I started Monday the 1st of June. I have to say that this job is actually everything I imagined it would be and much more, if I was talking about you I would say that it’s an “OK” job. But I’m not talking about you, I’m talking about me and this is what I think.

I believe it is the best job ever. For me. I love the clean up of theater rooms after each of the shows, and I love the cleaning in general. I love the people, I love serving the people and I love seeing their reactions to the films when they come out of one and I just love everything about the environment. Some people may think I’m completely insane, and that’s OK. I don’t mind, It wouldn’t be the first time that someone questioned my sanity. I really do enjoy every little aspect of this job, I’m still new, I’ve still got much to learn and I will continue giving my best because I hope to work here for a really long time. As long as possible. I drive to and from work with a great big smile on my face.

The best job is not necessarily the one that pays the most, or one that has the most benefits. But it’s one that you benefit from the most personally. One that you are passionate about, one that makes you truly happy. That’s the best job. All of my co-workers and managers are great, they help me out really well. They teach me with good patience and they are understanding and everyone is fantastic. I am really glad to have been blessed with such a wonderful work place. I do not know what else God may have in store for me in the future, but until then. I’m going to keep doing my best while hoping for the best. Thank you for reading this post today.

Growing Up

Jun
05

The little boy stares at the new remote controlled toy truck displayed in the toy stores window, with such childish awe and amazement he begins to slowly reach up and touch the glass, dreaming of the day that he could own the toy himself, however, he knew that such a dream was absolutely foolish. You see, Mike’s parents were very poor at the time and could barely afford to take care of themselves.

The-Land-of-Ooh's-and-Ahh'sMuch less afford something so grand for Christmas, yes. Sadly, Mike’s hopes of ever owning such a nice toy was nothing more than that – just hope. “Why do we have to be so poor, God?” Mike thought to himself. “Why do my parents have to work twice as hard as any of the other families on my block yet only make half of what they make, it isn’t fair God, it isn’t FAIR!” He began shouting and kicking the trash cans outside of the store and the store owner ran out to see what all the ruckus was about, when he found that little Mike was to blame he was shocked. See, Mike isn’t known for getting into trouble, he’s actually quite a nice boy, he does what he is told when he is told and he does so with the utmost politeness, he is very mature for his age, (that would be 8 by the way) he likes to drink a lot of chocolate milk and play in the dirt with his ‘friend’, Bill.

The only serious trouble he’d ever gotten in was not cleaning up after himself one evening, he’d never made such a mess before in his life, most certainly not intentionally anyways, when Mr. Pine found him standing there he quickly began to question why it was that our friend, Mike had so angrily knocked over his trash cans, when Mike explained his frustrations with Mr. Pine, Mr. Pine just gave a slight grin and a small tear started to stream from his face, because you see, Mr. Pine knew all too well the struggle of being poor, so he got himself back together and he told Mike not to worry, “You be a good boy like you always have Mike, you pay attention in school and I promise you that one day it will all pay off.” “Now, let’s get this mess cleaned, what do you say?” Mr Pine said with a laugh.

50 YEARS LATER –

It had been 50 whole years since that short encounter with Mr. Pine, who is now long gone, our friend Mike has grown up to be a fine businessman and though he never became filthy rich, he always managed to have everything he always wanted, except, he never did seem to get that Blue remote controlled truck that he had dreamed of many years ago in the window, now this being his 30th Holiday with his family, they all agreed that it was time to get their dad something that he had still always dreamed of, but never made the time of getting himself, come Christmas morning he was just excited to wake up breathing, but when he started opening his gifts his eyes filled with tears as he saw the toy truck under the wrapping paper.

He began crying and remembered the day that he had stared into the store window, asking God why. – He remembered that it wasn’t easy growing up the son of a farmer in the middle of the hardest times his country had ever faced, he remembered that it was often difficult, but he made it through, he grew up, he came out something wonderful, like a diamond he was given just the right amount of pressure to come out worth more then he could have ever imagined.

In Conclusion:

We often ask ourselves “Why God?” why is it that we work so hard but seem to get nowhere, or why is it that we can’t even afford the simplest of things, much less a little toy? Personally I have to say, even though my family has had it rough at times. I have to say that there has never really been a ‘bad’ Christmas, we may not of always had ‘everything’ but you know what? Most of the time we do not need ‘EVERYTHING’ we always had just enough, somehow, we managed to get what we wanted and somehow we always managed to get by, I have always been amazed at that. We all change, we all grow up, it’s just a part of life, I remember when I was little running down the hallway on Christmas morning shouting at the top of my lungs “It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas!” My eyes getting real big as I seen the gifts and stockings full, the candy, the tree, the music, the hot chocolate, the food, all of it, somehow everything was just right even when we didn’t have much, it couldn’t have been better.

There may be times that we wished we could go back and change things but we have to ask ourselves, in growing up, is there really a lot that we would change? How much is there that we would change and if so, what exactly would we change? For some I am certain that there are many things that they would change, but for a lot, myself included, I have to say that I would not change much or any little thing at all, because even though there are rough and bad times throughout our life and for those that grew up in far worse conditions than myself, even though there are bad times, it is those tragic events in our life that make us who we need to be, well I could put that in a different set of words, it is what gives us the power to be who we need to be, whether we choose to do the right thing is another story entirely.

But that’s also a part of growing up, thank you much for reading (the story above the conclusion is entirely fictional written by Nathan Tune for the purposes of this blog) I hope you have been blessed by it in some way.

God Bless The Police

Jun
02

I do not intend for today’s post to be as long as usual, however I never intend for them to be that long so we will just have to see how it goes, the title I’ve chosen is chosen from the recent turmoil in U.S. Cities such as, Ferguson, and Baltimore, where hate towards those who put their life on the line for our protection has been rising more rapidly than I would like to admit, my friends.

police_tape_ss_img_3I remember as a kid that I would always be very loving and respecting of all police officers, whether they were a city cop, deputy, state trooper or whatever, I had great respect for them because I knew at such a young age and understood what type of job it is that they had. Their job is to die defending the law, criminals may die from time to time and in many incidents it is a sad sight to see, however it is a great difference in dying while defending the law and dying while breaking it, I’m here today to tell you that cops lives matter very much. Everyone wants them to go away but no matter how horrible we may treat them at times and no matter how tough the job can get, they keep right on protecting and serving, that is the job.

Is this to say that there are NO bad cops out there? No, absolutely not, that is not what I am saying. However we must remember that there are bad apples on every tree, it’s just a fact of life, you can live in the sweetest universe you can think of and i guarantee you will have some type of villain out there trying to ruin everything, like look at the old “My Little Pony” cartoon, even those folks in a land of puff and fluff had to face their enemies. We know that there will be bad cops, I have seen them myself, but that still does not change my opinion about police officers, nor does it take away my respect, it angers me to see bad cops making a bad impression on all the good cops just as it angers me seeing bad Christians making bad impressions on those who really put their hand to the plow without looking back.

Blessed Are The Peace Makers –

Jesus tells us in the Bible that the peacemakers are blessed, and that is true, and police officer are peacemakers, that is their main job in law enforcement. To help keep the peace, to maintain all situations so things do not escalate out of control and to keep us all from being seriously hurt.

Scripture:

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9 KJV

A poem I have written in honor of all the brave men and women that serve us every day and that deserve our respect.

He’s a young man, she’s a young girl, she’s a sister, he’s a brother, he’s a father, she’s a mother, they’ve got sons and daughters and their someone’s son and someone’s daughter too.

Out the door they go with a badge pinned on their chest, keeping their head up high putting their own life on the line. They do it every day and we don’t even bother to say thanks, most of the time.

To the mother, to the brother, to the daughter and to the father, to the son and the sister, to the families and to the giver, to the one who puts their own life on the line, you’re one of a kind.

What you do it ain’t easy, you knew that from the start, you’re judged on every little move you make and there’s so many that may hate but I hope you know that no matter what, we thank you, we thank you for your service, we thank you for your courage, we thank you for protecting us when no one else was. We thank you for keeping the peace and if I could real quick please, God bless the police.

Now it may seem like you are unappreciated, and it may feel like you’re not wanted, and maybe in some cases that’s true, but please don’t let that get to you, don’t lose your care and your love, because you are still needed and what a few folks say don’t count. So please dear police, don’t leave us now.

God bless you.

No conclusion for today’s post, that is all. Thank you for reading and I hope that it has blessed you in some special way, always keep in mind that when in doubt, do not pout, God will pull you out somehow. Until next time…

Brokenness

Jun
01

We often spend our life trying to protect our most valued items, we store them in a cabinet, on a high shelf far from little ones grasp, or we have them wrapped up in plastic bins out in the garage. Only to use them once a year maybe during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Birthday’s, Wedding Anniversaries, because we don’t want them to get broken, we don’t want to break them.

BrokennessThere is just one thing wrong with that, the most valuable possessions are usually those that are easily broken, because you see my dear friends, even the best can become broken eventually. What is it that I am getting at? Do you feel like you are broken today with no way at all to describe the pain that you feel from all the times you have been wronged? All the times that you have blatantly been lied to, abused, provoked, used, mistreated and deceived by the goodness of your own heart towards mankind, you were only trying to help, you were just trying to be a friend to someone in this dark cold world and all you wanted was to be there for somebody and here you are now, broken to little pieces and you don’t know what goes where.

But God does…

Broken things can many times be easily fixed, other times it takes a little more time and patience, but don’t worry, when it is your life that we are talking about always remember. God is the creator of that life and if anyone can fix it, he can. Will it ever be the same as it was in the beginning? Will things ever go back to normal? That is uncertain, we must always remember that perfect to us may be something far different than what perfect to God is, we may see a burnt pile of a dilapidated building lying on the ground and God may see something so much more beautiful that we couldn’t even begin to imagine the beauty of what that burnt pile of nothingness could be, because we see a burnt building, what God sees is what it once was and what it can be.

RESTORATION –

Allow yourself to be restored, allow God to pick you up in his gentle hands and allow him to begin the process of putting you back together the way that you were supposed to be. Because unlike a broken pot or a broken vase, God won’t use super glue, he’ll take time mending our wounds, he will comfort us and help make us stronger so we aren’t easily broken by the afflictions of this world the next time that they come around slapping us in the face. With their mockery and their laughter of everything that we stand for, everything that we claim to live in and all that we are, with the help of God we will no longer allow evil to overcome us, we will no longer allow it to break us down into little pieces of nothingness, we will overcome evil with good and we will break it down in our lives to little pieces of nothingness.

We will rise above the situation in our life no matter how tough it may be, no matter how rough we have to get and no matter how dark it may get, we will shine our way through and we will come out in victory over the enemy, because if we don’t then we will not have a single chance of making it anywhere, not in this life or the next, we have to be as bold as we can be and we have to realize that being broken is not always such a bad thing. We also have to learn that we can’t be so afraid to use the most valuable items in our house because we are afraid of breaking them.

I was washing the dishes the other day and I’ve noticed that my favorite McDonald’s Coca Cola glasses keep going down in number and the reason for that, is because we keep breaking them, not on purpose of course. There are accidents that occur which cause us to break them without any way of stopping it from happening, I was thinking of not using them anymore but then what is the point of having a glass and not being able to use it? Ahh, you see what I mean by that? What is the point of having this vessel and not using it?

In Conclusion:

What is the point of dedicating this vessel to God and not allowing him to use it? Because we are too valuable, too vulnerable and will be oh so easily broken? How in any way or in any life is that at all an logical excuse? It isn’t and here’s why, yes it is true, the most valuable things are those that are easily broken, but, those that are of the highest quality are not. What am I saying? By allowing God to have full control of our lives and every decision that we make he can make us far more valuable then we ever were, because we are of far more value to him then we are to anyone else in this world.

And he can also make us of a higher quality, does that mean we will be better than others? Does that mean that we will not be able to be broken down like others? Of course not, I didn’t say that things of a higher quality are NOT broken at all, I simply said that they are not so EASILY broken, meaning that through God being made of a higher quality then we were before we can be made stronger and much more durable to withstand against the wiles of the devil, we will become broken from time to time, yes. However, when we do, each time we will grow less and less likely to break again.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope that it has blessed you in some way.

Hate – Fluff & The Bible

May
26

Life is like a chocolate cream filled Donut, if you cut it open in half, it can then be divided into two sides. Each side being what man considers to be right and wrong. However, it appears that there is still the cream to be dealt with. What is the cream? The cream is the truth, and the truth will forever abide.

IMG_3609

The Bible can be used for many things, comfort, peace, joy, relief. Something to help you cope with life or something to help you merely get by when things aren’t going the way you planned. You can use it to beat people down, or use it to raise them up. It can be used to fool people and it can be used to hurt people. Sometimes that hurt can be intentional, other times it isn’t completely intentional or it may not even be intentional at all. The Bible can make people cry tears of pain or laugh, laughs of mockery. Or it can make them cry tears of joy and sorrow for Christ’s death and laugh laughs of bubbling joy that only comes from the Spirit of God.

The Bible can be dangerous to the soul when interpreted the wrong way or it can be wondrous to the soul when spoken in it’s full truth. It can either be used to hate everything and everyone to hell, or love everything and everyone to hell. Or it can be used to love people with true love, with truth and boldness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the choice is left up entirely to us. Whether we decide to make the right one is another story. Let us not forget, the side of truth will always reign most high above all else. So let us stand for truth, let us teach truth and let us defend TRUTH.

There Is An Equal Balance –

I am constantly telling everyone I know that there IS an equal balance to the scriptures. You see, most Christian’s today either want to be so strict that they almost choke themselves off from God and others with rules, or they are so filled with a wishy washy lovey dubby love that they fall into the trap of using ‘grace’ as an excuse to sin. And neither of those are good ways to lead a walk with God, The Almighty. I see so much HATE today, whether it’s angry Christian’s or angry gay’s or angry atheists it does not make no difference. Hate is hate. If the Christian’s hold up a sign saying that “God Hates Gay People” then the atheists and gays are most likely to retaliate with an even bigger sign saying that “God Hate’s Signs” or “F*** this guy.”

But don’t get me wrong, the tables can turn and the events can go both ways. Gays and atheists can hold up their signs of hate to Christian’s and Christian’s have been known to retaliate right back in the same hateful ways, which in turn continues to feed into a never ending cycle of ‘fueling fire with fire.’ When will it end? Is it at all possible that we could BOTH just once stop trying to solve our problems with HATE and instead in turn try and actually LISTEN to one another? Will we agree? Probably not, but what is the point of hating? Where is that getting us? But let us not confuse HATE with TRUTH or strong held beliefs.

The Bible Speaks Truth –

As a Christian, I believe every single word of the bible. I will admit that there are many things I have yet to understand and many more things that I may never understand in this life, however. That is just fine. You know why? Not once in the scripture did Christ tell me that I MUST understand everything, rather he said this.

Scripture Verse:

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. – Mark 16:31 KJV

(I got that from one of Rev. Billy Graham’s old sermons.) A very smart and anointed man he is, and his son is stepping into his line of work just fine. Many times he is criticized for spewing ‘hate’ when in reality all he is doing is professing his faith, now what exactly is it any good to the world for a ‘Christian’ to not believe what he says he believes? Or even better, for a ‘Christian’ not to actually go out and ‘PRACTICE’ what he preaches. I mean, isn’t this the cause of us getting so harshly judged for by the left, is us not being ‘Christian’ enough? Yet, for whatever reason. When we actually DO show our faith, the liberal media and angry atheist’s just go into a wild frenzy making accusations of us ‘spewing hate’.

Scripture Verse:

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? – Galatians 4:16 KJV

Well, I guess I am. And I would much rather be the enemy of MAN than be the enemy of an all powerful, all knowing and all seeing Almighty God. There are those among us in the church world today that do not believe we should call out sin in the church or in the world when we see it. They tell us that is not biblical, it’s judgmental. “You can’t judge other people’s convictions. We have ALL sinned and all have fallen short.” Yes, yes we have. However, we are meant to be free now. I have no problem with people falling in their walk with Christ ‘occasionally’ (meaning rarely) we are all prone to that, it is our human nature. However, our human nature is NO excuse to continue on in a willful sin. Just as Grace is no excuse either.

In Conclusion:

The lesson to be learned is this, be very wise in how you use your bible. Because there is only one right way to use it, but many wrong ways. And it can be so easy to use his word as an excuse and even easier to use it to hurt people. Using it as an excuse to sin is just as bad or worse than those who use it to torment people and crucify others and judge them in an unrighteous fashion. What may seem right can many times be wrong and what may seem wrong can be wrong.

However, there is indeed an equal balance to the scripture. We must not love or beat others to hell, and we cannot speak so softly that our words are misunderstood or so loudly that we scare everyone away. Rather we need to present his word and his truth with utmost sincerity, utmost love and utmost dedication to the cause of holiness and truth. Because even though the bible can be used for many things, it’s one true purpose is to guide people, to teach people.

To lead them to the truth of salvation and holiness, to lead them to God. Christ. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog post and until next time let me wish you a blessed day.

Remember The Fallen

May
25

Do you enjoy waking up late in the morning in the safety of your own home? Do you like being able to go to work and make your own way without fear of being blown up by some radical terrorists? Do you like going to the grocery store and buying your own food? Do you like sitting in your living room watching your favorite television shows at night after a hard days work?

11355487_1146998005325713_1324618710_nDo you take comfort in the fact that people aren’t beheaded in the middle of the streets? Gays aren’t slaughtered for being gay and people aren’t martyred in public for their faith? If you enjoy all of these freedoms, liberties, rights, privileges. Whatever you wish to call them, if you enjoy the benefits of freedom, know this. It does not come without a cost, this past weekend and today many American Families may be gathered around their barbecue grills. Enjoying a nice meal of smoked Ribs, Burgers, fries, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, the works.

But in our peaceful little world, do we really look at this time as anything more than a day off to “have fun” “live life” eat and pig out? Or do we really recognize its true meaning? While there are most certainly many scum out there that may ‘call’ themselves ‘proud’ ‘American’s’ they are nothing more then a disgrace to the beloved Stars and Stripes that we hold dear. However, I do believe that there is more to America then burgers, fries, baseball and Apple pie. I have to believe that, because if I don’t, then what else is there left to believe in? I have to believe that there are far more out there honoring those fallen soldiers that gave up their lives for us so we could live freely, then those who aren’t.

Some Gave All –

We too often forget while living in the safety of our American pie homes, there’s someone that fought and died so that we could be safe. So that our families could live happy and carefree. Not having to worry about invasion or war. Death or slavery. Not having to live in constant fear of being stripped of everything they own. Just freedom, pure sweet freedom. However, I propose something to you today, my friends. If you really want to honor the brave men and women that died defending our country, how about you quit sitting quiet idly by while the Government keeps taking away all of our rights and freedoms that they died for?

Here’s a thought, what if we stand up? Get informed, get equipped and go out to take this country back, get it back to grass roots values of, Freedom, Justice. Love of Country, and a cold harsh bitter hatred of Communism, Socialism and Marxism.

Let’s get our nation back to a land of the free. Why? Because of the brave. They were brave enough to die fighting a bloody war over seas, more then once when we called on them, they were there. Is it not the least that we can do to fight here, on our very own American soil? For America? For the cause of Liberty? Is it not? I dare say it isn’t. It’s the least we can do, to take care of what God has given us by the fallen soldiers who died so bravely for this land, and to not allow it to fall into communistic hands.

In Conclusion:

To them we owe it all, yet, there is not much we could give that would account for the cost of their precious life. But we could honor them more then we do. We could teach younger adults to be more respectful to them then they are, we could teach America to love itself again, because. By golly, it seems to me that all the far left wants to do is demonize us. And sure, we’ve made our fair share of mistakes before in the past, and we still aren’t perfect. But bless God, I still love America. There will always be a reason to love America, even when America is not what it once was. If not for the way this country once stood strong as a city on a hill for all the world, at least let it be for the brave fallen soldiers that loved America so much, they died fighting to keep her free.

The flag I fly today in my front yard, it does not fly because the wind moves past it. The American flag flys from the last breath of each military member who has died serving

The True Meaning Of Friendship

May
22

Today I would like to talk to you about something that is most important in our world well thirdly to God and family that is even though sometimes friends can be even more valuable and more family than your own family nevertheless we all live in a world where we must have contact with those around us.

inspirational-friendship-quotes

Whether it’s in the form of a high five a hug, a slap on the back to issue you a job well done or a shake of the hand as an introduction no matter what the reason, it is critical to our way of human life that we in some way shape or form have some type of contact and relationship with every other human being. It is just  how God designed us, he didn’t create us so that we would have to strive through this world alone, each human is their own person with their own individual characteristics, their own personalities that makes them, them.

Characteristics that makes them who they are, their own special talents and creativity that makes them unique and one of a kind each of us has that same type of uniqueness about us their maybe people who resemble one another in appearance and have similar personalities but the fact is we are not all the same in anyway sure we are all part of the human race but we all have so much to offer to this world in a very magnificent way and one of the most amazing most valuable most precious and priceless things that we have to offer the people of this world is our friendship, our kindness, our love, our joy.

In my case of being a Christian it is the true love of Christ we find out the hard way in this life there’s so many times people can be cruel they can be heartless cold and just plain evil sometimes but then someone comes along or something small just happens maybe a short encounter with a stranger in the grocery store at checkout, or with an employee at the produce section, or perhaps while waiting at the doctors office.

It doesn’t matter where you are I guarantee you that somewhere there is someone out there is truly trying their best to be the best kind of person they can.

Goodness In Humanity –

The best kind of son Dad, Brother, Uncle and friend that they can be they go above and beyond the average person’s limit of kindness care and love and I say that because today, people are overall more consumed with materialistic things, rather than people and they seem to care more about where they are going then those that they pass by on the way to where they are going, it’s become a world that is indulged in their own self, “Me, Me, Me! I, I, I – Forget about you, you go survive on your own.”

People have forgotten about the value of friendship and the most important true meaning of friendship. Friendship most times is just something where people are used as a tool to get what they want out of a person, they pretend to be your friend while waiting in the bushes prowling after you, your family and everything you might have. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Sometimes they take advantage of your generosity or your kindness, your love, your care and sincerity.

Just to get what they want and then they drop you like a poisonous snake sometimes even taking you to the ground not even slowing up one bit when you are finally down or perhaps the fake friendship can go both ways, perhaps you’re both using each other to get something that you want without even realizing it.

The way of people has changed over the course of time this world along with morals and ethics are continuing to deteriorate at an increasing speed more and more each day, friendship used to mean something to people, a man’s word meant something to him, the way you would be looked upon and  the way you were treated in a community or your public status was based completely on whether you kept your word or not.

It Makes A Difference –

Some people still hold that same standard to this day, but not many. I have heard people tell me that it doesn’t make a single difference if we in someway try to be a better person in this life, they always end up repeating the same excuses:

“What difference does it make? Why should i keep my word? No one else does, everybody lies, everybody forgets, everybody makes mistakes!”

- WE'RE ONLY HUMAN -

Those lines, those excuses are merely nothing but useless words coming out of the mouths of lying lazy careless people, that apparently do not worry about the feelings of others or how they appear to society.

Though any decent human should have enough common sense and morality to stand by his word especially if you represent Jesus Christ. Because I wonder how it must look to an outsider when a man ‘claiming’ to be in Christ continuously lies to them? And it is lying.

Because when you tell someone you’re going to be somewhere at a certain time or you are to do something at a certain time and then blow them off or something without even telling them or giving them so much as a warning that you’re not going to be there that is an outright lie and if you claim to be in Christ will doing these things you need to reconsider your salvation.

Because these are not the ways of Christ true friendship is something that is taken very seriously between people it’s something that they cherish, they honor one another with honest, truth, care, love, kindness and genuine sincerity. They cry, they laugh, they smile, and they frown. They fight, they pray, they help others, they help each other, they realize that separate they may be weak but together they are strong and can accomplish anything.

They realize that together by being themselves they can make a difference in this world by showing everyone what true friendship means what keeping one’s word means what it means to be an honest hard-working caring loving considerate person in this world friendship is being a shoulder for one to cry friendship is taking that midnight call friendship is picking up those who fall being there and loving at all times.

The scripture tells us that a friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity, to stick through with your friend in good times and bad, rejoicing with them and weeping with them the bible tells us that there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother, we must all work our hardest to be that type of friend because what this world needs is human contact it needs love true love the love of Jesus Christ.

In Conclusion:

My fellow Americans my dear brothers and sisters in Christ my friends wherever you may be you may be the only Christ that the criminal may see and know you may be the only hope of them ever coming to know them you may be the only reason they are still here because of how you live your life it gives them hope for the rest of humanity.

We must never live our lives by the actions of others we must live our lives for us we must be who we are supposed to be regardless of what anyone else is doing. Don’t be the one who blends in with the crowd the one that joins in on the teasing of that poor boy, or that poor girl who starves herself, be the one who stands out and stands up be the person that reaches out and says.

“I love you and I’m sorry for how you’ve been treated, I’m sorry I didn’t step in sooner.”

Be the one that fights evil with a passion for life and  stand up against bullying, don’t let yourself be fooled into becoming like the rest because you’re better than that. You are you are different, you are special and you can make this world a better place if you try to but it’s up to you and you alone It doesn’t matter if you never run across another person in this world that believes like you, that cares for people like you, that’s honest like you that’s real like you, what matters is that you are who you are supposed to be, what matters is that you do the right thing.

My friend it is our individual choices the way WE live OUR lives that MAKE the DIFFERENCE, not what anybody else does, if others choose to follow the path of good and honest truth that is great but whether one or 1 million decide let it make no difference to you, be you and be true

Be the kind of friend that sticks closer than a brother the kind of friend that is loving and true know matter what.

Until next time…

Dare Be a Disciple?

May
20

Greetings, as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, I’ve noticed that it cost me my family, friends, and much more.  When you become a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, you will start to notice division among your family. Well, they will pretty much isolate themselves from you who is in Christ. It can feel like a lonely walk in your walk with God, but we must always remember that the Lord is with us.

11272287_10204027599719144_1004291362_nJohn 16:32 says 32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. So, what exactly do I mean that it can be a lonely walk when your walking with God? Well, it is when members of your own household like your mother, earthly father, cousins, aunts, uncles hate you because you decided to follow Jesus. I have experienced isolation from my own family that I used to be close with. It has been hard for me because I’ve always been a family type of person, always being in fellowship with my family. And though it may be hard for me, it is so worth it. The best decision I ever made in my entire my life was starting a true relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-39

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

When you carry your cross it signifies admitting His right over your life. As you give up your life to Jesus, you will find true life in return. As a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, one should not love their family more than the Lord. Furthermore, another example of how a lonely walk can be as a Christian is when you can’t find anyone to fellowship with who has the same interests as you do when you are in Christ. Or some people might see you as a lunatic or too religious. I know I am not the only one who desires to fellowship with those who are on fire for God. As born-again in Jesus, you see the world in a different perspective. For example, When you’re new in Christ, you dislike the wicked things this world has to offer. As your led by the Holy Spirit, you start to feel as a foreigner in a strange land because you know your citizenship is in heaven! Our true home is where our Abba Father lives!

So when your family stops talking to you, and ignores you as if you didn’t exist anymore just remember what Jesus said in John 15:18-19 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. I rather choose Jesus over my family a million times because He is worth it! At the end, we will be rewarded for enduring until the end! So continue to walk strong in the Lord! I hope this blog post blessed you in some way in reminding you that you’re not alone.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. –  Matthew 16:27

Needs VS Wants

May
19

In this modern world we happen to live in a society where our ‘wants’ far exceed our actual needs and this can very quickly become a bad habit for us to continue on in, you see, the reality is that we don’t ‘need’ half or even more than half of what we actually have, do some of us deserve it? Probably, there are those who work hard for what they have and they deserve what they have and even maybe more than that.

8384575_orig

But, is it really necessary? Some of us may jump too quickly and say ‘YES!’ okay, let’s just have a look at all the technology that exists among us today, the following includes, phones, computers, video games cellphones, television sets, the internet, tablets, fablets or phablets, flabby flabster flab-phones or whatever they are called along with bluetooth, youtube, facebook, twitter, blogging, posting, sharing, liking, commenting and tweeting and texting oh my! Is any of it really a necessity?

Perhaps, maybe some of this is something that makes our lives ten times better than it was back, say 40 something years ago, WOW, I’m not even that old and I can’t believe that the first personal computer was created by Steve Jobs and his friends on April 1st 1976 (nearly 40 years ago!) Isn’t that just amazing how something so insane to people back then can seem like such a necessity to people today?

People laughed at the thought of other people spending any time at all on their own computers, well – THANK GOD that Steve Jobs was crazy enough to make the deals that he did to bring us our very own home computers.

Though I guess that I still haven’t answered the question now have I? Is it all really necessary for our survival? I have to say that yes and no –  it is and it isn’t. My reasoning for that is because most of those I call ‘friends’ (who really are my friends) are online and sometimes I feel like if I was ever stripped of my internet privileges that it would be as if someone killed everyone that I know, but then I realize that is just plain ridiculous, they would still be alive and I would just have to talk to them less than I was used to.

What We Need & What We Want –

Many times we can lose sight of the things most important that we really need in our lives, we need to make sure that we are loving those that are around us and we need to make sure that we are appreciating the smallest of blessings that might come our way, we need to make as sure as possible that we don’t take anything for granted. We might look at something as simple as a light bulb and take no consideration for it at all or we may have a little bit of food leftover on our plates and think that we can’t finish it so we carelessly throw it away without even giving it one ounce of thought or consideration.

Why? There are people out there that live in the dark, with no electricity, no food, no water, no way to bathe themselves no way whatsoever to keep themselves warm in the winter or cool in the summer. Yet we complain about not having a strong enough cell reception, or we might even complain about having ‘too much’ food, or we complain about bad internet, not even thinking about the fact that we have a bed, a roof over our heads, a blanket, shoes, clothes, a way to bath, plenty of food, water and a way to keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer, even if it is just a small space heater and box fan it’s more that what some people might have.

If we ever stop thinking for one single minute about what it is that we want and start looking around at what we have, then we would soon learn that in our dilemma of bad cell reception, and in our temper tantrums of begging for more and more, we might realize that we have more than we ever needed to begin with. We have more than most and quite frankly that should be enough, however in this world as it is today we know that it never is and sadly this probably won’t be changing anytime soon.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t still humble, hardworking, deserving people out there.

In Conclusion:

Today’s post was not intended in any way to speak to those who actually are going through any kind of rough time, well it is and it isn’t, if you do not have the simplest of needs then don’t feel as though this post is talking to you, this post is talking to those of you who have far more than is needed and it is my hope to bring you to the realization of that, not to hurt anyone in anyway or to make anyone feel bad about the current way of life they are in.

If you happen to be having a really rough time and maybe even losing faith and hope in God because of the intensity of whatever trial it is that you are going through, then let me offer you some uplifting words of wisdom from Annie Camden:

“Sometimes if your need is great enough and your want is small enough, it shall appear. – 7th Heaven Annie Camden

OK, I am sure that I quoted her on here once before and that’s alright because the post was a long time ago and it wasn’t even related my topic of today’s post. Always remember that when you are in such a great need of help, if you keep your faith strong in God and praise him in what is the worst of storms then he will help you through and he will bless you beyond your wildest imaginations, he is absolutely capable to perform in whatever way he chooses ‘miracles’, miracles that exceed our capacity of understanding all together.

And when our need just so happens to be at it’s highest peak, while our want is at it’s all time low, God will be higher than all and he will reign above with great power and mercy and he will prevail through the darkness and shine light on our struggles and he will lead us out of the trials to victory!

Until next time…

It’s A Flip Flop Life!

May
18

Wake up this morning feeling as though nothing will go your way? Your hair isn’t the way you hoped it would be, you burnt the toast or you flopped the pancake, maybe you even caught something on fire, It seems that everywhere you turn, everything just flip flops out of control. Now isn’t that something? In life we will have to endure flip flops, what outcome we choose to make of them is left up to us.

beach_grayscale_monochrome_par_2560x1600_The other day I was planning this wonderful dinner for my family, I had it all envisioned in my head, cheeseburgers and fried potatoes – does that not sound so yummy? Well, it ‘DID’. I like to blanch the potatoes in hot boiling water (usually oil but you can use water and it is all I had so it’s what I used) for about 10 minutes or less, well I had got distracted with making the burger patties, which by the way I had to add some black beans to the ground beef because I only had a little less than one whole pound of hamburger beef, as I started to pat them out I noticed they weren’t holding together too well. It seemed as though I had added one too many eggs, (oh bother, little did I know though, that, that was the least of my problems.)

When I went back to check on the potatoes I found that they had been blanched for far too long, at first I will admit that I started to let myself panic, and then I stopped myself. I quickly began thinking of what I could make out of these potatoes that would go well on the side of Hamburgers that I had just cooked, mashed potatoes? No, that wouldn’t work, mashed potatoes don’t go well with a meal like cheeseburgers, not in my book. Aha! It came to me like lightening in the midst of a storm, as if a light-bulb had just lit up on top of my head like in those old cartoons that I used to watch. Potato salad! I can make potato salad!

When Life Gives You…

The old saying goes:

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”

My dear friends, in my case it was: when life gives you overly blanched potatoes, make potato salad, don’t let the flip flop become an inconvenience in your life. Make something beautiful out of it, in my case it was a great big ole’ delicious bowl of potato salad, in your case maybe it will be a chocolate cake instead of brownies, or cookies, or scrambled eggs instead of fried, either way you are still blessed to have what food you have to prepare any dish you like with, so don’t let the flip flop life get to you, flip flop it right back into something absolutely ‘FANTASTIC’ (as THE Doctor would say.)

Notice that though I became slightly panicked, I did not allow the over cooked food to spoil the rest of my meal, I went right on making dinner for my family with joy and I ate that potato salad right up, it was muy delicioso! (Psst. It’s my favorite.) So you see, I took what seemed as if it had ruined our meal for good and turned it around around, I flipped a flip flop life incident and come to think of it, I am glad that I did. (Because like I said above, I ‘REALLY’ love potato salad.)

In Conclusion:

There will be times when our life will flip and it will flop, we may wake up and everything will be flipping all around us and flopping all over us, but nevertheless, no matter how flip flopped things may seem. We can make it, “YES WE CAN” (In the words of our greatly adored, most high and mighty king, Barack ‘Hussein’ Obama, did I mention ‘HUSSEIN’? Ah forget that though, back to the blog post, shall we?)

Scripture Verse:

“We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.” – Philippians 4:13 (Paraphrased)

(Wonder if good ole’ Barack read that verse before his campaign? Hmmm… Moving on.)

Indeed my fellow brethren, the reason we can is because we know that God is with us, and if our God is for us then who can be against us right? While today’s post might have been much shorter than usual, as I have said many times before, ‘Quality’ is far better than ‘quantity’ any day, in my opinion. With that said, I will bid y’all (you all) a farewell, well, a good evening, a good night, a good day – perhaps a ta-ta? Eh, whatever, until next time my friends.
