Conflicted – The Holidays

Nov
22

Blessings and SHALOM in Jesus alone, today I would like to write about some things that have been on my mind for the past few months now, I just needed to find a way to express myself fully. So without further ado…

The Holidays have been and are always a bit of a conflicting and complicated time for me personally, due to my family’s situation with things in the past with my mom and what not: I am constantly torn up inside about it. It eats away at me more than I let on and some days are harder than others. I fight away the anger each day, fighting to stay sane because sometimes the situation gets me incredibly upset. I’m sure there are some who might be able to relate. But with Gods help I am able to move past it and I choose every day to be BETTER and NOT bitter. And some days it is just really hard. But I move past that, I keep pushing forward.

Because greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. I have had many friends tell me after really getting to know me, that they can’t believe I am as nice and caring of a person as I am considering all I’ve been through in my short life, they tell me they’ve known people that have gone off the deep end. People that go out and do drugs and get drunk and steal and get arrested and just hate the world. So it’s always amazing to them that I’m the way I am, but I tell them. I battle with the anger sometimes, I’m sure we all do. But I choose to be good, I choose to do good, but most importantly…

Choose To SEE Good:

I choose to SEE good, in this world. Even though it feels like it’s not there. Because life can be so dark and so cold and so painful and full of such despair and hate and anger and bitterness and death and sadness and heartache and tears and destitution and desolation. But I choose to look beyond what I see and I choose to see the good first. I choose it so much so that it happens for me automatically, I am almost to the point where I don’t even have to try anymore. I just look at something and see the good in it. Even if it’s just a speck. But it wasn’t always that easy. And there isn’t always good. I have been hurt and abandoned and ridiculed and mocked and hated by “friends” “family” for what I believe, for what I have stood for. Because I believe in a just and holy God. I’ve been harshly ridiculed, things I don’t even talk about.

All because I said I believed in God’s truth. Things that would make some people want to just lock themselves away and never talk to anyone ever again. But I overcome those things, I refuse to live that way. I refuse to live in pain, I refuse to live in darkness and despair. I refuse to live in fear, I refuse to live hidden from the world because I am called to be a light and what good is a light hidden under a bush? What good is a light that has been blown out by the evilness of this world from the devil himself? What good can that light do?

I could very easily never talk to anyone ever again, I could very easily choose to see only pain and hate and dark, cold, bitter despair in this world. I could choose to believe that there are only fake backstabbing lying scumbags in this world. I could choose to believe that. But what kind of a Christian would that make me? The whole purpose of my faith is to be like Christ? Where would we be if Christ chose to believe like that? If he chose to believe that none of us were capable of change and we should all just die?

We would all be dead, in hell. Many of us might not ever have even existed. But no, Jesus chose to look beyond that and in spite of our wickedness, in spite of our sins in spite of our iniquities he chose love. He chose the greatest form of love there can ever be, he chose to die for us so that we might be saved from hell. Imagine if he’d stayed hidden from the world, imagine if he chose to let darkness win. Imagine. I don’t want to imagine. Do you? No, it’s too easy to live that way. I refuse to, I have told myself this every since I was very young and I will forever stick to this belief.  People will fail you, they will. They will hurt you, they will. That’s life. They will ridicule you, they will mock you and they will try and destroy you.

There will always be that type of evil in this world. But in locking ourselves away, we let that evil win. It doesn’t matter what other people do, what truly matters is what WE do as true servants of Christ.

There may be heartache and pain and anger and sickness and sadness and death and tears and hunger and poverty and war and hatred and bitterness and despair. That is this life in which we live. But I believe that good will always conquer evil. Because In life there is also, love, joy and laughter and peace and friends and family and kindness and caring and sharing and giving and helping others. There are so many great people, beautiful wonderful people in this world that have beautiful wonderful souls and they are loved by God they are special to God so special that he gave his son to die for them on the cross. For all of us.

So how can we not have love for people? How can we not have compassion and how can we not care? Hundreds of thousands of people die every day and only God knows where their soul stands, how can that not bother us? How could that not make us want to be as bright a light as we can. How on earth can that not make us want to go out into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature? Because that’s exactly what Jesus commanded of us, many times throughout the scripture he tells us to be a light that we are a light and that we are to be his workmanship. Witnessing and most importantly, being a witness for him.

And that is what I will always do, I’m a people person. I have always had such a deep compassion for people, and a love for life. It’s a Christ like compassion I suppose. Because life is beautiful. How could it not be?

This is the day which the lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalms 118:24 KJV

We rejoice because God made it and God is in it and therefore it is good. I refuse to believe there is ever bad days. Only bad things that can happen in those days.

Because a day that God allows us to wake up and have breath is a great day indeed.

For life is beautiful.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Kindness

May
28

It was the year 2013 sometime during the month of December and I remember it rather clearly because that is when my mom was training to work for the postal service and my uncle and me would get up early in the morning to take her, it was also a chance for us to shop for Christmas while she was in class.

inspirational-quote-act-of-kindness-aesopI remember walking into this Life-Way store, (for those who don’t know, Life-Way is a Christian bookstore that has all sorts of fabulous ‘Jesus’ items for everyone) I was looking for something special for my mom and my grandma, I was able to find them both something just right for a fraction of the cost which I just LOVE doing, I remember that the last time I went which was just a few days prior to that I had gotten a coupon for 35% off of any of their regular priced items. It turns out the item I had purchased an item that was already discounted so I couldn’t use my coupon, I was so very sad to hear that since it was going to be one of the last times that I would be in that area, I can recall looking around to see if anyone had anything that was a regular priced item and I wanted to find someone just right.

This woman comes around the corner holding something in her hands and looking back I am not really sure what it was but I do know that when she replied to me she said ‘yes’ that she did indeed have a regular priced item, I believe she was a rather small younger woman but still much older than myself and I noticed she was all dressed up in the winter fashion with a scarf and hat on with a bright holiday smile on her face radiating all the world with her Christmas Spirit, what I did next took her by surprise. I offered to give her my coupon, I asked her if she would like to have it and if she felt it would make any difference to her and she light up like a house decked out in Christmas lights and she wanted to make sure that I was certain in my decision to let her have my coupon and I told her yes, if she needed it and would take it then it was hers.

She leaped with gratitude and repeatedly thanked me for my kindness, she told me that times hadn’t been so easy for her lately and that my selfless act of kind giving would really help her and that she couldn’t thank me enough, I felt so happy that day, even though I didn’t get to use my coupon that I really wanted to. I still got to find a gift for my family for a great price and I also got to help someone else save money and get their loved one a great gift for a great price too and that is what life is all about my friends.

Small Acts:

No matter how small we think an act of kindness may be, we need to realize that what we might take for granted or what it is that we might think of as small and meaningless, others think of it as something amazing, something to be valued, something to be exceedingly grateful for, something that we shouldn’t take for granted, because what we think of as something we deserve and should have, others actually don’t have it and they can only with for what we have.

The next time you think that you can’t make a difference in someones life because the difference may be too small don’t be so foolish, don’t you allow yourself to be caught up in that type of thinking because you would be wrong, the reason for that is because God cares greatly about all the impacts we might have on someone big or small and I still like to believe that no matter how dark this world may seem, there are still those out there who also care about all acts of kindness, no matter how big or small they may be.

Because it means something to them, it shows that there are still people in this world that cares about others and not only themselves, it shows that there are still people who realize that even though they can’t use something or even though something isn’t right for them, maybe it is possible that it may be right for someone else and instead of throwing away what they can’t use they give it to the person that can.

That’s what it shows.

In Conclusion:

My friends, don’t be fooled, there are still many out there who are kind and just because we think that we are the only good people left out there in this world doesn’t make it true. Just because we are lied to constantly and even though it seems as if the world is full of crooks and even if it is for the most part that definitely does not mean that there isn’t room for something far greater than any of our minds can ever imagine, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t somebody out there who actually wants to help others, someone who actually puts others first, someone who is honest, kind and loyal.

It just means that those people are harder to find, like I have said once before, just because something is hard to do or even if it is hard to believe it does not mean that it is impossible and it does not mean that it isn’t out there, we have to be willing to find it and we have to be willing to look for what we want to find in this world and in many other cases we actually have to be willing to literally BE WHAT we want in this world because there isn’t any greater way of making a difference then by being one.

Thank you for reading today’s post and I hope it inspired you in someway to keep being hopeful in the betterment of humanity that all isn’t lost and I hope that it encouraged you to go out and be a better brighter light and person for Christ as well, may you continuously be uplifted in his name all of the days of your life and until I write again.

Remember The Fallen

May
25

Do you enjoy waking up late in the morning in the safety of your own home? Do you like being able to go to work and make your own way without fear of being blown up by some radical terrorists? Do you like going to the grocery store and buying your own food? Do you like sitting in your living room watching your favorite television shows at night after a hard days work?

11355487_1146998005325713_1324618710_nDo you take comfort in the fact that people aren’t beheaded in the middle of the streets? Gays aren’t slaughtered for being gay and people aren’t martyred in public for their faith? If you enjoy all of these freedoms, liberties, rights, privileges. Whatever you wish to call them, if you enjoy the benefits of freedom, know this. It does not come without a cost, this past weekend and today many American Families may be gathered around their barbecue grills. Enjoying a nice meal of smoked Ribs, Burgers, fries, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, the works.

But in our peaceful little world, do we really look at this time as anything more than a day off to “have fun” “live life” eat and pig out? Or do we really recognize its true meaning? While there are most certainly many scum out there that may ‘call’ themselves ‘proud’ ‘American’s’ they are nothing more then a disgrace to the beloved Stars and Stripes that we hold dear. However, I do believe that there is more to America then burgers, fries, baseball and Apple pie. I have to believe that, because if I don’t, then what else is there left to believe in? I have to believe that there are far more out there honoring those fallen soldiers that gave up their lives for us so we could live freely, then those who aren’t.

Some Gave All –

We too often forget while living in the safety of our American pie homes, there’s someone that fought and died so that we could be safe. So that our families could live happy and carefree. Not having to worry about invasion or war. Death or slavery. Not having to live in constant fear of being stripped of everything they own. Just freedom, pure sweet freedom. However, I propose something to you today, my friends. If you really want to honor the brave men and women that died defending our country, how about you quit sitting quiet idly by while the Government keeps taking away all of our rights and freedoms that they died for?

Here’s a thought, what if we stand up? Get informed, get equipped and go out to take this country back, get it back to grass roots values of, Freedom, Justice. Love of Country, and a cold harsh bitter hatred of Communism, Socialism and Marxism.

Let’s get our nation back to a land of the free. Why? Because of the brave. They were brave enough to die fighting a bloody war over seas, more then once when we called on them, they were there. Is it not the least that we can do to fight here, on our very own American soil? For America? For the cause of Liberty? Is it not? I dare say it isn’t. It’s the least we can do, to take care of what God has given us by the fallen soldiers who died so bravely for this land, and to not allow it to fall into communistic hands.

In Conclusion:

To them we owe it all, yet, there is not much we could give that would account for the cost of their precious life. But we could honor them more then we do. We could teach younger adults to be more respectful to them then they are, we could teach America to love itself again, because. By golly, it seems to me that all the far left wants to do is demonize us. And sure, we’ve made our fair share of mistakes before in the past, and we still aren’t perfect. But bless God, I still love America. There will always be a reason to love America, even when America is not what it once was. If not for the way this country once stood strong as a city on a hill for all the world, at least let it be for the brave fallen soldiers that loved America so much, they died fighting to keep her free.

The flag I fly today in my front yard, it does not fly because the wind moves past it. The American flag flys from the last breath of each military member who has died serving

Another Mother’s Day

May
10

Tis’ Mother’s Day once more my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, a day that can sometimes be rather hard for me to get through due to all the times my own birth Mother has caused me severe pain throughout my life, I have constantly felt as though it was a consistent battle between who I loved most. Is it my birth Mother? Or is it my Grandmother? The woman that practically raised me.

Happy-mothers-day-5I have to say that I refuse to be pushed into that very battle today. I am done fighting that battle, I know that there were times when my mom was actually a mom, and that doesn’t take away from all the harm she has caused me, but it is not unrecognized either, today I would like to focus on my Grandmother, the Mother that I still have in my life today and I would also like to focus on the Mothers of all the world. Quite a lot to focus on when you think about it, actually when you think about it, there is a great difference in a Mother and an actual “MOM” shouldn’t it be called “Mom Day”? I think it should. Because like the saying goes for Fathers and Dads, anyone may be able to be a ‘Father’ but not just anybody can be a DAD. I feel that the same goes for Mothers/Mom’s.

This year is probably the first year I didn’t really wish my birth Mother anything at all, and I can be sent to hell for that or whatever and that is perfectly fine, I have been hurt enough and as I have said before, I do refuse to allow myself to be hurt anymore in any way at all. My Grandmother has had to overcome many obstacles throughout her life, starting with having to give birth to a baby girl at the age of 16 and there wasn’t any kind of help for her back then, she was told to abort the child and she refused, she’s had to sit night after night in hospital waiting rooms and emergency rooms with her Mother, her Daughter, her Grandkid, her Husband, friends and long distant family, you name it. She has been there no matter how late or how tired she was she has been there, only to be mocked at, laughed at, even spat at in some occasions. Yet she still keeps doing the good work of the Lord.

Thank God For ‘Mom’s’

Mom’s are a great blessing to us all and we only recognize the work they do when they aren’t there to actually do it themselves and we end up having to do it ourselves, as the old saying goes, you don’t know what you have until it’s gone (something like that) and it is true. However I am certain that we could all do better, we could all be better, better what? Better children, better husbands, better sons and better daughters, better people, I mean. With the greatest ‘Mom’s’ in the world raising us and taking care of us don’t you think that we would go out into this world much better people because of it? I most certainly would.

A person doesn’t have to be your ‘Mother’ for you to wish them a “Happy Mothers’ Day” as matter of fact, they could just be that sweet old lady down the street that bakes the best homemade chocolate chip cookies, or perhaps she is that old Grandma lady down at the nursing home that you visit with your church every Tuesday afternoon. Maybe she’s the old store owner downtown, the woman that’s worked all her life at the bank, it doesn’t make any difference, If she’s not a Mother to you, I’m sure that she has been a ‘Mom’ to a few people in her life. So go ahead, wish her a great big HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.

In Conclusion:

Happy Mothers Day Mama (Maw-Maw, for those who forgot) down a country driveway you found it hard to make a way, you did your best and left the rest and hoped to pass the test. I will never know how you do what you do and I will never know how you made it through, but Grandma I will always love you, Grandma I am blessed to have you.

And for anyone wondering, my birth Mother, I still love her, how can I not? Things are just very hard and at times, very painful for me, yet I continue to move forward, because I know that God is in control and he is capable of all things and I know that come the day that he wipes the tears from our eyes, all things will be made new.

Be blessed and to all the MOMS out there…

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Until next time…

He Is Risen!

Apr
03

Greetings my fellow comrades, soldiers in Christ’s Army, friends, foe, brothers, sisters and all other alien life forms alike, welcome back.

LOVE 5

Well today is ‘Good Friday’ meaning that this Sunday will be the day most all Christians and most all the world even if they aren’t saved will and might recognize the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I would just like us all to reflect upon on that one amazing moment in history for a short period today if that can possibly be so, then lets get on with it.

I’m sure many might wonder how we are going to reflect upon an event that happened long before any of us was born and while it might be difficult it most certainly isn’t impossible, mean, having been giving his Holy Word to study and learn about the wonderful things that he has done for us as Christ our Lord then it becomes rather easy to recall the story in the bible about the day of his crucifixion which would of been on a Friday, and then the wonderful event of his grand resurrection.

Which from scripture we can tell would of happened on a Sunday morning because it says in his word it was the break of Sabbath and that would have been Saturday, now with today being the 1st day of his main plan for our Salvation as humanity I would like to briefly go over some of the things which Christ would have had to of endured during his crucifixion for the atonement of our sins, our sicknesses and all our diseases which are healed because of him alone.

Beaten And Ridiculed For Me, For You.

It is very obvious in the scripture how horribly beaten and tortured it is that Christ was on that very day, he was beaten, whipped, made to wear a crown of thorns in mockery of his claiming to be the true messiah of the Jewish people, he was flogged until the flesh was coming off of his back and body until he was pretty much unrecognizable at that point.

One can only imagine such pain it must of been that he went through that day, we often have a hissy fit when we get a paper cut or when we are cutting roses and we get pricked from a single thorn we all know how incredibly intense the pain is from one prick of a thorn  you could only imagine the type of pain a whole crown of must of been like on your head after you had already been beaten so bad before and by those you came to help.

Let’s not forget one of the last parts where he had huge nails which were pounded into his hands and his feet, he was so weak and sick by the time it came to carry his cross to be crucified that someone from the crowd had to help carry it up there for him, we can comprehend every time that we might accidentally bump our hand while we are hammering something together from time to time and many of us say we feel the need to ‘curse’ at that very moment.

There are others who have accidentally shot nails through their hands or other places when work with the nail gun went wrong but surely we know our nails are much smaller then the nails would have been that they crucified Christ with was, and just think about this my friends, after enduring that much pain not once is there mention of Christ cursing or cursing those that were brutally killing him.

Yes, HE IS the King of Kings and God Almighty himself the only one who is completely perfect but we have to think about these things for just a moment my friends, God himself was in human flesh, he was walking around in human form with all the natures of that a human would have, he was able to hunger for food and thirst for water, he had the ability to be weakened throughout the day like anyone, we know from scripture that just like we are at times he even was tempted by satan, but he overcame those things.

We Can Too.

In Conclusion:

Christ said that this world would cause us heartache, pain and much worse than we could ever imagine, he said we would suffer for HIS names sake’ but he also said the not be afraid of these things because he has overcome the world.

If we truly believe that In Jesus we can find solace, Salvation, hope, peace, love and joy, then we will truly believe with everything in us that no matter how bad something is or how bad we are getting so awfully tempted and tortured by satan, we CAN overcome that because

‘Greater is HE that is in ME then he that is in the world’.

I know many Christians don’t like to celebrate Easter or they think it is this demonic holiday or whatever and I know it’s true many of the holidays Christians celebrate are indeed of a demonic nature and you’re right ‘what’s bunny’s and eggs have to do with the resurrection of Christ?

Nothing really, not that I can think of, but I can’t think that it’s that bad or even bad at all, because I have the same thing to say about this as I did for Christmas.

Sure, it has a pagan origin, but you’ll not be able to make me believe that anyone in this world can tell you what origin that is, or that most people will even associate it with pagan unless it’s some atheist that is angry at God or some Christian that want’s to live completely under restriction from everything.

Because most people now recognize Christmas for the birth of Christ even though it isn’t and they recognize Easter for his Resurrection.

THAT is great.

Until next time friends, Happy Easter.

Happy New Year! 2015

Jan
01

WOW, 2015 already, it just amazes me!

DW 2015

(Only Whovians will understand the photo)

Doesn’t it you? Time, time is something that is here, yet it isn’t, one minute something is one way and the next minute things are completely different.

It always amazes me how time changes things, the way it shapes people’s lives, how it pushes us to move on, because the reality is when one life ends, life itself keeps on going.

I have seen many things happen this past year of 2014 starting early on in February when my grandpa had his first heart attack of the year, to May 17th the day my mom announced she was taking back the man my grandparents worked so hard to help her get away from.

To meeting my friends across the seas, In the U.K. and Australia from across the states to Wisconsin, California, Indiana, and the list could probably go on, even in Canada, so many people that I was able to meet and become friends with through the internet this year that certainly has made a good impact in my life as they are all remarkable and unique.

In October I met (the now new Governor of Texas) AG Greg Abbott who was out campaigning  for Governor at the time at a meet and greet in Tyler Texas! That’s not all, I also was able to meet the one and only Chuck Norris! Now, Chuck Norris is someone that I have always admired since I was a little kid, being able to meet him in person was absolutely amazing.

Yes, looking back I now realize that there have been both good and bad events of chaos in this year especially when you get down to the nitty gritty, but isn’t that the way all years are? Yet you don’t necessarily ever know what a year may bring, you can never in a million years guess that out of heartache God will bring bliss and outright miracles into your life.

Miracles:

Yes, I said MIRACLES, I am a strong believer in “Miracles” because I have seen many of them placed upon mine and my family life throughout the years, if it wasn’t for God’s grace his sheer blessings and outright miracles in our life I don’t know where we would be today, of course it did take much action on our part, we had to be faithful, we had to believe, we had to stand still and let God move.

And when you put your life into God’s hands, what better place is there for it to be? When you rest assured in the assurance of his sufficient grace, that is when you will be able to conquer all that is thrown your way, I am ready for 2015, I know it will be a year that will most likely be filled with much adventure, trials, heartache, joy, peace, love,  forgiveness, and miracles.

They are all around us, Miracles, that is, both big and small, we just have to be willing to look for them.

When we can do that, THAT is when we will begin to see the bigger picture, I am still a very strong believer that everything happens for a reason and for a purpose, a good reason and a good purpose, sometimes it may become hard to understand what that purpose and reason really is and as matter of fact, we may never actually know in this life time, but all we can do is trust God that in the end it’ll all work out.

Embrace 2015!

Welcome this year with open arms my friends, be not afraid, be bold, be courageous, share the truth in love with BOLDNESS. It CAN be done, I have seen it, I have done it.

Make this a year that counts for something, quit loving people into hell and actually love them with a real love, they may not always listen, they may not always agree with you but that’s fine it’s not about what they think it’s about what YOU do.

It is our individual choices the way WE live OUR lives that MAKE the difference.  – Glenn Beck

Again, I don’t know if that actually is a GB quote but that’s where I heard it from, and it’s true my friends, we are responsible and accountable to God for our own actions, we must share the gospel in truth with love and BOLDNESS.

My aim for this year is to do this myself and encourage others to do this as well, to share:

TRUTH (IN) – LOVE (WITH) – BOLDNESS.

As I have said many, many, MANY times it CAN be done, WE just have to DO it.

 HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

CHRIST-MAS!

Dec
25

MERRY CHRIST-MAS my dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ!

short-merry-christmas-wallpapersI hope you are all having a lovely holiday today, I am just simply trying to enjoy it as best I can and look back on times gone by, it is quite amazing how much time can change things isn’t it?

Each time I start to write one of these blog posts I try to shoot for about 500 words or more because I just feel that is what they should be, not too long, not too short but something good and soul providing, encouraging, uplifting, inspiring (I hope) and good food for your spirit!

Don’t forget what the season is truly about, it’s about these simple attributes below:

  • Christ
  • Giving
  • Love
  • Peace
  • Joy
  • Happy-ness
  • Kindness
  • Caring
  • Sharing
  • Togetherness

If we ever forget that we will lose all sight of the holiday’s, and I’m afraid there are too many people that have already forgotten, as I said in my last actual radio show, CHRIST-MAS isn’t really ALL about gifts, fancy dishes, a lot of food, super savings at the grocery store, egg nog, it’s not about how much ‘stuff’ you get at all. CHRIST-MAS first and foremost has always been about CHRIST.

Now if you’ve been paying attention you’ll notice that I have been spelling Christmas like the following – “CHRIST-MAS” why is that? Simply because if you look at that last word “MAS” in Spanish, it is then translated to “MORE” am I right? I don’t know much Spanish, but I know that  much to tell you, yes I am right! So looking at it with that mindset, Christmas is really one or as matter of fact THE biggest season of the year and it is possibly the one day out of the entire year that CHRIST is recognized MAS than he is any other day of the year!

When CHRIST-MAS is celebrated in that context.

Which I believe for many, many, many many, many years now it always has been, people have always celebrated CHRIST-MAS to honor and glorify – CHRIST!

Now don’t get me wrong, I do not doubt for one minute that there aren’t people who are caught up in all the “stuff” people that ‘worship’ Santa, the elves, the tree, blah blah blah.

I’m pretty sure there are some and we know for a fact that more and more each year our beloved Christmas becomes this commercialization about business making more and more money while people kill each other to save less, it is increasing at a rapid speed, people going crazy about the ‘stuff’ rather than the true meaning.

And we cannot deny that the majority of all the world recognizes Christmas as CHRIST’S birthday and he IS glorified by, he IS, it’s just a ‘fact’ even sinners have to recognize him that day because when Christmas is celebrated the way it always has been, and the one that will  really comes out being glorified is GOD and while I believe the spirit of Christ-mas lives inside each and every single one of us all throughout the year, because I believe it is just the TRUE love of Christ.

It just for some reason takes the actual season of CHRIST-MAS to activate it, then it begins to work outside of us, so what do you say my friends? Are you going to embrace  CHRISTMAS spirit this season? And if you do, why not riding it all throughout  the New Year as well?

And possibly throughout the rest of your life? (Just a wild thought)

I know many have their criticism of Christmas but I will continue to celebrate it, as my favorite parts are the lights and Christ said he is the LIGHT of the world, so why let your house be all dark, gloomy and Scrooge-y this Christmas?

Just to let you all know, again, after today I will be taking a 5 day break from the social world and my phone/internet/laptop and most all electronic devices other than TV to watch some shows and movies with my family.

Celebrate Christ more this Christ-mas!

God bless you all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A Christmas Eve Catastrophe

I’m pretty sure I started that morning with some type of exercise, maybe even a walk as you know temperatures are fairly warm in East Texas even around this time of year,  when I got home there were cookies to be made, chicken salad to be prepared and pecan pies to be made as well!It all started like any other day, quiet, peaceful, calm and mystical as you could just feel the Christmas magic all around you in the air. The Christmas tree was glowing from it’s many strands of lights and beads that were carefully wrapped around it and presents were neatly stacked at the bottom, things were Christmas-y indeed.

I began making the pecan pies, I believe this was the first year I had ever attempted to make one on my own (and I’m not much of a baker to begin with) nevertheless I embarked on this mystical baking journey and set out to make two homemade pecan pies from our very own pecans right here on our own Texas abode!

IMG_2622However I’m pretty sure that they flopped the first time, but we intended on eating them anyways because we can never let anything go to waste (that is considering we have  done without things in the past) so we went on to place them aside to cool and supposedly “set up” (which they would have done, I just hadn’t baked them properly).

Time For A Present!

Usually we wait until we get back from looking at Christmas lights to do this but somehow this time was different and it was decided that we could open “one” present on Christmas Eve that is usual tradition in our home and I’m sure many other homes around the world as well, now, this was the night that I happened to obtained my very first condenser microphone ever for my radio show!

I surely have put it to good use over the past two years, I think, and I believe that I have gotten more used to it and better even, having bought two real XLR cable condenser microphones this year I mainly use them now, but I still from time to time use my very first USB as it’s just easier to set up for short projects and it can compete pretty well with my new professional equipment.

And of course it will always be my first microphone that I will always cherish and keep with me, who knows, maybe one day It’ll mean something to someone else besides me you think? You never can know I suppose…

Well Enough of my rambling, onto the rest of our evening.

The Return Home:

After gazing at Christmas lights for the past couple of hours (which happens to be a family tradition of ours) we then decided to make our journey home, what we didn’t know is the surprise that would be awaiting us when we got there.

It just so happens my friends that I forgot to mention that not too long before the holidays my grandparents had picked up this rescue dog on their way back from a funeral one day in North of Arkansas I believe, a black German Shepherd (at the time named Titan but we renamed him Samson) he had been mistreated by some old lady that kept him in a cage and starved him when he was a puppy.

Something we had forgotten that you’ll understand here in just a moment, a police officer had took him in and posted an ad that he needed to get him to a good family and sure enough my grandparents just all of a sudden decided to go pick him up that day.

It was quite frustrating for me too because I had worked all day on cleaning the house and all of a sudden they barge through the door and I get pounced on by a dog licking my face like a wild maniac, oh well, anyways…

Onto Christmas Eve…

It just so happens that we had put him in a cage not thinking much of it, it was a very big cage and we knew we would be home soon enough, we really didn’t think it could be that bad but sure enough when we returned home, well…

Let’s just say it wasn’t too pretty, he ripped out of that sucker…

We had gotten my grandpa donuts for Christmas that year and that is what he opened on Christmas eve, the dog just so happened to get into some of them, he also opened a few other presents as well that we had wrapped for him, (naughty little booger) he also managed to get into the mini beef franks we had planned for pigs in a blanket on Christmas day or in this case it would of been (Cows in a blanket) and he of course got into those beautiful pecan pies I had made.

But get this, he didn’t just eat one whole pie, he had to eat half of each one! We were all very frustrated indeed, but we knew it probably wasn’t such a good idea to put him in a cage given his past experiences, we just didn’t want him getting into the food (which he happened to do anyways)

Needless to say that was the last day he spent in the house, he made a pretty good house dog for awhile and even is house trained, he would go to the door when he needed to go out and I don’t believe he ever gave us any trouble there unless of course we didn’t pay attention to his plea to go out, he’s got short hair so his shedding wasn’t too bad but it was still a bit of a task to maintain.

However after we came home to that “Christmas Eve Catastrophe” we decided it was best he stay out side from then on, who could blame us, and who could really blame the dog? It was best for everyone I believe and he still loves us just as much as he did before.

With that said, I hope you all have  a very Merry Christmas eve and an even better Christmas day! My family went out Christmas light looking early this year, yesterday so I suppose we will be staying in tonight enjoying the magic that is Christmas Eve.

Until next time…

THANKS-GIVING

Happy THANKS-GIVING everyone!
happy-thanksgiving-pics

I hope you’ve been just as blessed this year as I have!

Well – I certainly DO have much to be THANKFUL for, yet at the same time I have instances where I can be saddened… But I do my level best to focus on the positives rather than the negative, you all should know my story/testimony well enough if you’ve followed me long enough.

If you don’t, well just go back and search for it.

Then you might understand why somethings this Holiday season is a bit hard for me, but I’m not going to talk about those things in this post. Today, I want to talk to you about some things on my heart that I might of left out during my latest Radio Show,.

This is supposed to be the season of love, peace, joy, happiness, GIVING, Thankfulness (Hence the term “THANKS-GIVING”) Yet somehow each year more and more people seem to forget the true meaning of these holiday’s altogether, the true meaning of the season and as matter of fact, the true meaning of life itself.

Whatever happened to people just loving each other? Giving without expecting anything in return, thanking God no matter what their status in life? Enjoying the smallest things.

I believe it is something that we as a country, a society and even as a world have fallen much too far away from. But I will not fret, I will not worry too much, because I choose hope, I choose to believe that there are people who care about each other. They love each other and want to make a difference, I choose to believe that life can be better and it is when we start to praise the good and vilify the bad more often.

When We Get Back To The Scripture:

…It is more blessed to give, than to receive. – Acts 20:35 K.J.V.

How true this is, and not just because it makes you feel all good inside, It is ok for that to happen. But it is better to give than to receive because sometimes we just have too much than we even realize, sometimes we forget that and we begin to start taking things for granted.

So we have to learn to get back to the basics, we have to learn to give back to those less fortunate. We have to learn the true meaning of life again, the true meaning of the holiday seasons and the true meaning of what it means to be a decent human being again if we ever were considered “decent” to begin with.

We have to reach a point where we say, “ENOUGH” I have had it with all this garbage in the world, I’ve had it with all the hate, I’ve had it with all the greed, the commercialization of holidays and I’ve had it with the deterioration of our world.

I’m going to make a change for once.

BE THE DIFFERENCE:

It is our INDIVIDUAL choices, the way WE live OUR lives that MAKE the DIFFERENCE. – Glenn Beck

Yes, I did just make a Glenn Beck quote. Now I know a lot of people don’t like him, and I myself personally do not agree with him on some things. But he shares amazing stories, he shares the truth and I have followed him for quite sometime now and even researched him and he usually knows what he’s talking about and his “Glenn Beck Predictions” usually always come true.

Now, time to list all of the things I am thankful for this, THANKSgiving!

I THANK GOD FOR:

  1. My Family (Grandparents and Uncle)
  2. My Friends (Those Here In America & Across The World)
  3. His Sufficient Grace
  4. Being Able To Be Born In America
  5. Getting To Meet Chuck Norris!
  6. The Republican MidTerm Victory!
  7. Technology
  8. Love (True love not a wishy washy love)
  9. Life (To Simply Be Breathing)
  10. EVERYTHING (And SO much MORE)

I had to stop with “EVERYTHING” because really, I could get into a long thing of all the things we should thank God for everyday but I believe if we just thank him constantly for everything then he will understand just what we mean.

After all, he knows the exact number of hairs on our heads! Thanks for reading dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ!

Until Next Time…

Happy New Year: 100th Blog Post!

Jan
01

Well, it has been one crazy year, hasn’t it? I don’t know how you have been looking at it but that’s how I’ve been looking at it. Though, let’s not forget….

Happy New year

This may be the end of the year, but it most certainly isn’t the end of the world. It is simply just the beginning of something great. I personally believe that this new year is gonna be an extremely great and blessed one filled with abundance, peace, love,  joy, kindness and deliverance. I don’t why I can’t get that out of my mind. I keep on trying to think of something else to talk about but when I do, that same thing keeps popping up in my head.

It could be true. As the matter of fact, I have a deep feeling that it could be very true, but we his people, have got to want to be delivered. We cannot just be simply be delivered. We’ve gotta go out and do something. Jesus can’t even come into your life unless YOU bend down, get on your knees and ASK him to. Thus, you can’t be delivered from eternal damnation unless YOU take action.

That is what this year 2014 is going to take for all of us servants of Christ. Now, I know that there are a lot of you out there that feel you have done enough already all your life. But remember, the only thing that matters is what we do today, how we live our lives, the way we decide to do things. That is what makes the difference and that is all that matters. We can’t be focused on what others are doing all the time.

Because if WE are doing what WE are supposed to be doing then with time, with prayer and belief, all the rest will fall into place – and that’s just a simple fact, Jack!

I look back and cannot believe that I wrote 60 blog posts all in a straight row, or that it’s been a year already since I started doing this. It’s amazing, I have been trying and trying to think of what to say in this blog post and sometimes it just doesn’t matter how much you TRY sometimes all it takes is just DOING.

Above is a picture of me with some text talking about my new Radio Show called “The Nathan Tune Show” that will only be available to you on Tune Radio (and of course my website). But I will not be posting it to any other places like youtube. I’ll share on my Facebook and Twitter but as far as the original media files go you’ll have to come here for them in the media player on the Tune Radio page.

I have a lot planned out for the new year, and I intend to make those things a sure reality. I was thrilled to get my new microphone for Christmas, but just like with anything else, I’ve been completely bum-fuzzled at what to say. Like I mentioned earlier though: I guess sometimes it isn’t a matter of figuring out what to say it’s a matter of sitting down and listening for what you should say.

Be praying for me that I can get some wisdom and knowledge to start off my Radio Show January 7th at 9am ET with a lot of Uplifting, Encouraging, Inspiration and Bluntness.

In today’s world, that’s what we all need the most. And I’m determined to be one of those people, that try their best every day not to only make a difference but BE a difference. Because just as it is with witnessing sometimes the best witness you can have is your self. And sometimes the best change you can make in the world is by being that change yourself!

Happy New Year, everyone! Thank you for reading and until next time…

God Bless!

Sincerely,
