This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalms 118:24 (KJV)

A New Dawning

It’s a new day, it’s a new beginning, it’s another week and here we are so very lucky to still be at the very early point of this New Year, 201720” being ‘Redemption’ (Biblically) and “17” meaning “Victory”

Anything that happened in the year 2016 that we wish to forget, we CAN forget, we CAN move away from, we CAN walk away from. 2016 was not the end, 2017 is just the beginning. The bible tells us that through Christ, we CAN.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

And not only that, it tells us that through HIM we also have strength. Let me first start this post off by saying this: I just feel led to say this. If you feel you have no hope left, if you feel you have lost your way, if you feel you cannot be saved from this road of destruction and turmoil that you are on. Let me just tell you this, you are wrong. The devil and some people would make you think it’s so hard to be saved, but that’s not true. The scripture says:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 (KJV)

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10 (KJV)

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 10:11 (KJV)

The scripture tells us to repent, (which means to make reconciliation with God) ask him for forgiveness and turn – WALK away from the things of the past.  The scripture tells us that:

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 (KJV)

If you know in your heart that the word of God is true and pure and perfect, then you must know that his word does not turn void. It is established and it is irrefutable. People may try and discredit it all that they can, but if you have just experienced a miracle in your life or in your spirit or in your day at all. Then you know, you know that he will not lead you wrong. You may not truly believe it in your mind, but in your spirit you know. The scripture tells us that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Sometimes we let ourselves be consumed with worries and fears and even a little ‘regret’ now and then. But be not dismayed for he is with you, he is leading you and guiding you as we speak and he has carried you through many dangers, toils and snares, you have already come! (As the good old hymnal goes)

Amazing Grace:

How SWEET the SOUND. His Grace IS Sufficient! Now – when you take that very first step and you start serving God you will find many challenges arise. Because the devil don’t bother what he already has, but he will do his hardest to try and get back what God has just taken away. But woah, woah woah! Just hold up there devil, God did not take one thing away from you. He took BACK what you stole from HIM! Hallelujah! Dearly beloved brothers and sisters don’t you think for one second that the devil owns you, because you are God’s now. You have ALWAYS belonged to God, you just lost your way. But now you have found your way back and you are now no longer bound to sin! It no longer has dominion over you! (Romans 6:2, 9) The bible tells us that we are free, we are FREE…

So before we go any further, let’s recap –

  His Grace Is Sufficient!

We Belong To HIM!

We Are FREE!

Sometimes it’s hard to let go of the past, it’s hard to move on. We want to hold on to the life we had, we wanna stay where we felt comfortable. A familiar place where everything went right (or at least appeared to go right) a place in which we find solace. But if we look in the bible we can find that Jesus never stayed in one place more then a few days. He was constantly moving, he would go and preach to the people of each town and they would either LOVE him or HATE him. They would either accept him or refuse him. Now most of us aren’t meant to stay in one place or one situation for too long. There are times in which he has greater plans for us. We may not know why or how we ended up where we are today. We may not understand why it is so hard. We may wonder why it is that things can’t just work out for us, or why we can’t just ‘fit in‘ somewhere.

But we must understand one thing, this world is not our home. We need not get too comfortable. We aren’t meant to LIVE here, we are meant to occupy until he comes. Jesus told us to ‘occupy’ until he comes. (Luke 19:13) We’re all Strangers Here traveling through this world of woe. If we truly put our trust in him, if we truly trust in him at all times and pour out our hearts before him and trust that he is our refuge (Psalms 62:8) then we know that we walk where he would have us to walk and if we aren’t too sure then we must seek him deeper and deeper until we know for sure that we are walking in his will and his truth. And if we are. If we know that we are. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God and to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

In Conclusion:

So let’s STOP. Let’s stop torturing ourselves with the questions that I know many of you must be all too familiar with. It is in our human nature to question what could of been, what should of been. What IF? IF only, ‘IF I would had just done this differently – IF I would have done something else. Could of I? Should Of I?’ No, no no! You are looking at this situation completely wrong my friend. Listen to me very closely, please. You are a child of the living God whom hath given you new life and with new life comes new adventure, new adversities and new places to go. He is guiding you and leading you. Do not look back, do not think back on what could of been or what may. Do not think upon these things because it will only cause you to grow regretful and bitter and your emotions will take over and when we let emotion take over we lose sight of the Kingdom.

The bible tells us to take no thought for our life what we should wear or what we should eat (Matthew 6:25) For the fowls of the air sow and reap not, yet our Father in heaven feeds them. Are we not better than they are? (Matthew 6:26) It goes on to tell us that our heavenly Father knows that we have ‘need’ of these things. But for us to seek first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto us. (Matthew 6:32-33)

We could sit and drive ourselves crazy about what could have been or should of been. But we must not be deceived for he is faithful and he will deliver (2 Thessalonians 3:3) and we are going exactly where he wants us to go. All of the people that you’ve lost touch with along the way, don’t be bitter towards them or angry that they are no longer in your life. God moved them out of your life and put you out of theirs for a reason. You aren’t going the same way that they are going and he has greater plans for us than we could ever even begin to imagine. So… Until next time my friends, May God bless you and keep you, May God make his face shine upon you, May he lift his countenance upon you and may he give you…

Lost Time

The crack of an egg into a hot skillet can be heard throughout the entire house, as a whisk scrapes against the bowl of fresh made pancake batter and the sizzle of sausage is thunderous – while the morning sun rises from behind the wooded skyline.

It’s breakfast time… Or is it? Do we have time for that? Why is it that we tend to ‘lose track of time’? What is so wrong with us that we cannot even make time for a homemade morning meal. Sausage, eggs and pancakes for goodness sake! (I love pancakes with sausage right in the center of them drizzled in maple syrup. Yummy) You know – when I was younger breakfast was my most favorite meal. Whether it be breakfast pizza, bacon and eggs, perhaps biscuits and sausage gravy or maybe pancakes in the shape of mickey mouse. Sometimes it was as simple as butter and jelly on toast. I loved breakfast and when I make the time, it is still my most favorite meal. It IS the most important meal of the day, after all.

I find that breakfast is the most savory delight in the morning. Nothing beats your hunger in the mornings like a good ole’ fashioned home cooked breakfast accompanied by a nice tall glass of Orange Juice – It seems to me that a big American breakfast just cannot be made without a refreshing glass of orange juice. I do enjoy breakfast. But that is not the reason of this blog post. Though it does play a good part in it. We have lost time. In every way in our lives, we lose it every single day and we do not even take that very fact into consideration. We have become so consumed with doing our work faster and faster that we forget to breathe. We don’t take the time to smell the roses. We don’t think we have the time, if something is not done at high-speed then we just curl up in a ball and want to die. Our lives are filled with “Rush, Rush, Rush” or “Hurry, Hurry, Hurry”

“Move faster, faster! Don’t wanna be late! There’s no time for that. Maybe another day!” We work so hard, we move so fast. Yet, it seems we never really accomplish that much good. And we are always turning our lights out for bed as fast as we get up out of bed that morning it seems. Time flies when we fly. But I have noticed that time is also very still, when we are still. The days last longer, when we take the time to enjoy the little things in life. When we take the time to enjoy that glass of orange juice for breakfast. When we take the time to read those bible verses BEFORE breakfast. Ahh… Now we are getting somewhere…

Feed The Soul AND The Body:

The bible tells us that:

It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.  – Matthew 4:4 (KJV)

I remember my Pastor and Spiritual Grandpa (Now with the Lord – Brother Thurman Ward)  every morning he would get up and before breakfast was even thought of he would have his bible out on the table and would be reading some sort of passage. When we would visit them early in the mornings he would invite us to join them and he would give a full bible teaching before breakfast. He loved the word, he lived in the word and the Word lived IN him. Long gone are the days of the men of ole’. They have passed on and the generation left in this world have big shoes to fill. And for many us, myself included am convicted of this too. We are not at all the warriors for Christ we were made to be. That we SHOULD be. We are to be ‘Soldiers‘ in the LORD’s Army!

We are to walk in the fullness of God, to be a light in the darkness. But too many times, we let time get away from us. We choose to use our time in other activities, perhaps we can’t pry ourselves from our binge session of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” or BBCA’s “Doctor Who” or maybe that new Marvel movie? I have been guilty of this as I’m sure we all have. So many will shout and cheer and erupt in emotion at the Super Bowl or Friday night football, but when they are in the presence of the Almighty God, when they come into his house, wherever that may be. They show no emotion.

We sometimes act as if God has done ‘NOTHING’ for us. I have been guilty of this as well. Not studying in his word like I should, not praising him like he should be praised when he is MORE than deserving of praise, he is worthy of all praise. But we lose track of time. There are no more episodes left to binge of ‘Supernatural’ or ‘The Flash’ or ‘Breaking Bad’. And we find ourselves tired, worn out. When all we’ve done is stare at a screen for hours. ‘Losing time’ so to speak. How dare we. How dare we say we are too tired to give him praise.

He is the Messiah, he is the Son of God, he is our SAVIOR! He is our LORD, Our Redeemer! He died on the cross for our sins, he suffered the ultimate sacrifice. He paid a debt we could not pay, we could never pay in a million years. We are so unworthy, we are so filthy. We are so pitiful, such vile and wicked evil people that we are. To sit and watch hours and hours of TV, movies, reading books, whatever it is that we are doing. Losing track of time. And complaining about how much time we’ve lost. God have mercy on us, forgive us of our sins and trespasses against you O’Lord, we are not worthy. We are like filthy rags compared to you, we are gone out into darkness, we are no good. Lord fill us with a fire in our souls, let those Holy Ghost flames roar within us. Pour your spirit out on us and cleanse us of our sins and pour out upon your Church a passion for your truth.

Let our hearts be humbled and our eyes be opened. O’Lord let us walk in your way, hold up our goings in your way that our footsteps slip not. Time is of the essence. The day of salvation is now, we know this.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O’Lord my Strength and my Redeemer. – Psalms 19:14 (KJV)

In Conclusion:

I know that time can get away from us all, I know that it can be hard sometimes to keep a daily bible schedule. But we must feed our Spirit to sustain our bodies. In word, and in prayer. The bible tells us – JESUS tells us:

Watch ye and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41 (KJV)

It is so easy to fall, to stumble and trespass against our Lord. It can be so easy to neglect him and his word. In this day and age it can be far too easy. But to keep going in this life, to keep walking in his truth, to be able to fight this good fight. In these days especially. We must bury ourselves deep in his word. We must put on the whole armor of God. The bible teaches us that the enemy will come, he will tempt us. He will tell us we are not saved, he will tell us we can’t make it. He will tell us that it’s not worth it, we are not worth it. That Jesus does not love us, that he has forsaken us and that we might as well just give up and die. But the bible tells us when we are tempted, we must remember these three important things:

  1.  Call upon the name of the Lord.
  2. Speak the word Of God
  3. At the name of Jesus – The devil must flee.

He is most certainly worthy of all praise. Be not dismayed brethren. For the Lord our God is with us and he is looking out for us and he will deliver us from our enemies.

May he bless you and keep you, may he make his face shine upon you, may he be gracious unto you, may he lift up his countenance to up and may he give you…

Who Am I?

In this life we often get caught up in this great adventure of self-discovery, trying our level best to reach some type of conclusion about our self.

The question that we many times find ourselves asking is the one I chose to title this post, “Who Am I?” Am I a Christian? and if so what type of church should I affiliate myself with? Should I reference myself as a ‘Baptist’, a ‘Methodist’, a ‘Pentecost’?

Because there are many types of ‘denominations’ that I could join, many ‘Religious’ organizations that I could associate myself with, but would that organization, would that denomination, would that Church even reflect upon the world what it is that I even say that I believe?

And what about my job? Am I a Writer, a Singer, a Songwriter? An Actor? A Preacher? A Policeman? How about a Baker? Let’s say hypothetically that I am a Politician, do I compromise all my values and beliefs just because of fear of being struck down by the big wigs of Washington D.C.? Or do I stand confidently and proudly before my constituents upholding the truth and values of our land and our Constitution that I swore to uphold?

What about my political party? Am I Republican, Democrat, do I lean Conservative, Tea Party, Liberal, Libertarian? Where do I stand as far as a political party? And let’s say that I lean a Liberal Democrat that is in favor of both Gay marriage and abortion, what about that?

But let’s wait just one second, I thought I just established above that I was a Christian, how could I possibly serve God rightly and justly, yet compromise his word by supporting the murder of babies and the unholy matrimony of two people of the same sex?

What Then?

Do I then cry ‘Amazing Grace’? Do I rethink my position and bend my knees repenting and submit my full self to God? Or perhaps maybe I just ignore his word all together and keep telling myself that, “He won’t mind, I’ve got to do what’s best for this world and this time, Jesus lived a long time ago, things are different now” Will I keep telling myself those lies?

What about my view on other faiths? How about those, do I accept all ‘Religions’ as the same, in fear of ‘offending’ or hurting people’s feelings? Do I stand by God’s word when he said In John 14:6  that he was the only way? Or do I let that slide by as well and cry out again ‘Amazing Grace’?

Because I know deep in my heart that Christ said, whoever denies him then he will deny them, but I keep telling myself that perhaps he didn’t mean that, God is love, mercy and forgiveness.

He couldn’t possibly deny me, could he?

The answer to that question my friends is, yes, he really could, and not because he wants to, but because he is a holy and just God, righteous and mighty.

The purpose of this post was to emphasize that, in life we so many times get caught up in the idea of finding a label for ourselves we forget ‘truth’ I personally have often seen too many times that people from some churches are overly boastful and proud of their denominations, yet explicitly ashamed of the one they ‘claim’ to follow.

Why? Why, I just do not understand, but I do know this, we must never lose sight of the way, the truth, and the life. I may lean towards the Pentecostal Apostolic faith, I may lean Conservative-Tea Party-Patriot, I may be a Writer, A Singer, and Actor and many more things, I may indeed be an American, I may indeed find many labels to cling to from time to time, as I’m sure many of you do.

But in conclusion,

Who Am I?

Most of all, I am a Servant Of Jesus Christ, because even though I may be a part of all those things in my life, He IS The Way, The Truth, and THE LIFE.

Until next time my brothers, sisters, friends and fellow servants…

Let Us Pray…

Now, I know I haven’t mentioned much about mine and my best buddy’s daily prayer lately that is because most of the time since we ended the 30th day back in January, we haven’t been able to keep a straight row – like even just 3 days in a row. For the longest time, we haven’t been able to do so. I gave y’all an update on that part a while back with his input, too.

But just recently – THANK GOD! – since the 21st of March, we have been keeping our daily prayers and if we make it tonight that will be our 7th day! Another whole week of prayer together that we haven’t got to have in a long time! I am so happy (as is Cameron) that we’ve been able to do this. I know with each others’ different schedules, it can get very tricky to keep a daily prayer together.

We’re both far apart from each other, don’t have nearly at all the same schedules and sometimes he doesn’t even get home until 8:30 – 9:00 which I can understand (his dad is a TaeKwonDo Martial Arts Instructor and I know he helps him with classes which can run a little late sometimes).

Lately, we haven’t been able to make prayer until 10:00 or 10:30 pm. The time is no longer a problem for us. For me, as long as we can make it before midnight, I am ok with it. I do like getting the prayers in at 7 pm because of my sleeping habits had changed and also I don’t have to sit outside in my truck, but sometimes I have to anyhow because the signal in the woods is like… the (non!) signal in the woods!!  HAHAHA!

Now, we have been going good and then it’s not the time that is gonna be preventing us from calling each night to pray, NO! Now it is another problem… He’s limited on minutes. Well, my grandma suggested we could Skype… NO PROBLEM! Well.. We both gave it a shot but it was either me who couldn’t stay online or him who couldn’t.

Well, our prayers were starting to run about 40-50 minutes all together but now with his limited minutes until they roll on back over again we have got to watch ourselves very carefully we don’t want to run over his minutes!!! But we know one thing for sure is that God will take care of it all! He’s given us each opportunity to pray with each other and we too have continued to keep moving forward.

There were times when we both got discouraged and wanted to quit trying to make each day all together. Then we thought well maybe not. What if we just draw it back to once a week together? Well, we decided to just keep making each day and do the best that we can.

We are very grateful for yesterday’s 6th night of prayer and we are hoping to make tonight’s 7th night! Either way, though, if we make it or not, we are thankful for what he’s given us and we will just move right along and start back up the next day – no matter what. That’s what perseverance is! Something we all need to try our best to have and most especially when it comes to serving the Lord!

Words For My Best Buddy and All of Ya’ll!

I am so proud of how far my best buddy has come. He is a real kind, caring, and considerate guy who has a real love for God and a real desire in his heart and it’s more then a blessing to have him as a friend and a great joy getting to pray with him each night.

I pray God continue to help him with his journey and walk he has been on and that he always stays true to the word no matter what happens in life.

I pray the same for each and every single one of you! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I also ask that you pray for us so my best buddy and I can make our 7th night tonight! AMEN!

God bless y’all!

Daily Prayer Comments Off on Let Us Pray…

Update On Prayers – With My Best Buddy

We made it to the 30th day mark somehow without there being any problems. I know that one day we had to message our prayers but that was really the only nigh -t and it still counted! Every other night we didn’t skip a beat and pursued our daily prayers for 30 days straight in a row, TOGETHER! But then then comes difficulty….

Now I know 30 days may not seem like a lot to some, but for two best pal’s to make a day of prayer with each other every day and being so far apart as well, that seems to be a great accomplishment for both me and him! And we haven’t quit praying together completely either!

I admit that there has been some days we’ve missed and any time we miss prayers together, we both feel bad. We’ve just restarted our daily prayers together after about 10 days of going without praying! (together that is) – and we’re having to get back in the groove! It is still as powerful and fun as it has ever been though.

“It always is a disappointment when you miss doing something that you care about and means something to you. There are days when it just can’t be helped – and what do you do? The days that me and my friend Nathan have missed our daily prayers doesn’t stop us from praying. Remember, prayer is also powerful even if you aren’t praying in a group. Someday we have to deal with the fact that we are going to miss the daily prayer but we always look on the bright side and look to the future. We missed one day; hopefully we won’t miss it tomorrow. Even after a week of no prayer we managed to start praying again as if we hadn’t miss those precious days. We learn to work with our schedules – and on God’s time.” – Cameron Wilkinson

Being able to call and talk with him over the phone about the bible, the church, living like Christ and more, is such a blessing to me and I thank God for a friend my age that I can turn to about these things. Whether it be for prayer, or just a good laugh it’s all good!

We started our prayers together back up on February 18th and that night was a great night. We have gotten longer with our prayers and we talked for over an hour that night about new prayer needs for others and new prayer request from others. I have had to make a new list for prayer! My other one was getting withered and needed the new people added to it!

I know it may be easier to just ask God to take care of everyone, but when you specify those certain people and those certain needs, it will just make it that much more special. Not only for those people but to God and yourself as well! When God brings a need to your heart to pray for you shouldn’t just ignore that need, you should pray right then if you can and not blow it off because what if that need would be your need and God brought it up to someone else to pray for you and they blew it off because they had more important things to do? You’d want them to do the same wouldn’t you?

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18 K.J.V.

What a lovely verse, don’t you think? The bible tells us to PRAY ALL THE TIME! Now I know that we can’t LITERALLY pray all the time, but what this means is to just talk to him throughout the day and ask for his guidance in whatever you do. After all, that’s all that praying is anyhow – talking to God. Isn’t that right?

But here’s something interesting, though: the second night in my prayers with Cameron, during that night we didn’t have much time so we just got right into the prayer. I started first as I usually do. There have been times when he starts but anyhow, my prayer was beginning to get quite long and I included this in my prayer as well.

It came to me that we should all ask God to help us be more willing so that we shouldn’t worry about time as much as we do. We shouldn’t worry so much about our schedules and if we end up being late or losing track of time that shouldn’t always worry us. Now I know that time is something to be valued but think about this for a moment: When you’re working on God’s time and for him, isn’t time being the most valued that it has ever been? Let us not get so caught up in our own lives that we can’t take the time to will ourselves for his work, instead let us be willing to ignore the time long enough to do his work.

So many people want to control time. We shouldn’t do these things – especially in the churches. We aren’t to say when God wants someone to do something (unless told by God). We aren’t to say when something needs to be done (unless told by God). Take the clocks off the wall! Let God run the service for awhile – and pray on his time, not yours.

God bless!

God, Protect The Children

Today I want to blog about all the hurt, brokenhearted children… the ones in pain, the ones without parents, the ones that have no one, the ones that struggle each day, the ones that sometimes miss meals – sometimes maybe even for days.

Jesus and Children

Pray that the bad kids somehow get help and somehow turn around. Pray that the good kids get what they need to make what they want to of themselves. Pray that the ones without families gets blessed with families – loving, good, morally straight families – that will be able to help them in a great way. Pray that the pain be eased (even though it will never go away); pray that it gets better, and for the ones who are abused, the children who live under the roofs of drug addicts and alcoholics. Pray that they may be saved from the hell they have to endure on a day-to-day basis. Pray that they be protected and carried through each day with the hands of God wrapped around them tightly. For all the orphans, foster children, abandoned, hurt and abused here in America and around the world, pray so that they may be delivered someday – hopefully someday soon.

“But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”-Matthew 19:14 K.J.V.

We need to pray not only today but everyday for all the children around the world that God protects them and watches over them. Think about it for a moment: as I’m writing this now and as you are reading this there could be somebody somewhere today going through some pain. The homeless children, or the children victims of abuse because of alcoholic dad’s or mom’s, those who suffer from the actions of their parents. Never do they get to live what is known to be a normal childhood and most likely because of how they look they are looked down upon. Sometimes it appears that all the people who care about another and have genuine kindness are gone. All that seems to be in this world is a society of people who only think of themselves, with their only concerns being:

  • “What shoes will I wear today?”
  • “Where will I buy them?”
  • “How much will I spend?”
  • “What movie will I see?”

“People live off of two things: luck and kindness. The problem is the kindness is disappearing. You’re lucky if you find somebody kind.”Cameron Wilkinson

This is a quote from my best friend, and I find it very neat and quite accurate. It’s hard to find somebody kind, and this quote was written by the kindest guy I know. I’m very lucky to have found him, and we should all cherish and honor people like Cameron who make a difference in the world by being kind. It looks as if all the kind generous and compassionate people are dying off. Either it’s because they’ve just grown adapt to day-to-day life with all the pain it can cause, not just to one’s own self but also to others as well and those others being little, small innocent children. Or it is because they just simply don’t have a heart? That has to be it! One must not have a soul in them to be able to look at a small, innocent child being abused and not think anything of it. And though it may not be that bad yet, there are indeed some people who just don’t care one bit about the subject. They may also be too afraid to view these things, but it is a very serious issue and won’t get taken care of by looking in the other direction.

Not only for the little children but also the older children as well. They all need our prayers – even those who have taken the wrong path and are going to allow their pain to become their shameful time. But after living a life that they have, you can’t really blame them for turning to the way that they turn. We’ve just got to pray God be there and continue to watch over them and protect them and that maybe there will be someone out there who is a light that will lead them closer to God. My heart is always heavy for children – and hurting people period. Anyone that has been through some trails or heartache in their life, I have a great concern for them and care for people like that. Also, remember that one must be courageous to have faith. With faith comes hope and from hope there is strength and  from God’s strength – joy!

God bless y’all!

Missed Some Prayers – With My Best Buddy

So it isn’t much of a surprise to me that after reaching our 30th of prayer the day after that we weren’t able to make it together! Why? Ok, it was quite very surprising to me! It makes me wonder how we both made it together for 30 days straight without any difficulty. I’ll admit that the one day was a little frustrating with messages – but we still prayed!

prayer 2

So here is what happened: I stayed up that night (as late as I could). It was around 11 something. He had gone out with his family or something and wasn’t able to get alone for us to pray together. I asked him how much longer it was going to be before we could pray together and he said it was probably going to be past 12 am.

So, finally I just gave up I couldn’t wait up any longer and I knew the rest of my family wouldn’t be up that late so I just went to bed – quite discouraged, actually. I couldn’t understand how we could have missed a day of prayer together! Why would of God allowed such a terrible thing to happen for such a good thing that worships him?

As you know, I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a reason and a purpose, not just any reason or purpose but a GOOD one. Even as I was experiencing that reason, I still didn’t want to accept it. After I went out to bed to our bus at around 11 something I was quite saddened at the event taking place. Perhaps it was to see if we would come to him in prayer still even if we weren’t together… Well I did in a sense, I guess, just not like I had been doing with Cameron. You know that post you read yesterday? God’s Business?

This event here is actually where all that came from, so now that I look at it, maybe God wanted that message out there for some reason and the only way he could get me to listen to him is if something like that happen. I always write the best stuff when I’m going through something. It is my way of getting stuff out. I have written over 20 songs and that is where pretty much all of them came from is when I was going through some struggle or hard time in my life. Even in some good times I get things that come to me, it’s an emotional thing for me I use my emotions to let out all of the words that are jumbled up inside me.

“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;”- 1 Corinthians 1:4 K.J.V.

We ended  up realizing how great a blessing it was that we were both able to pray with each other for 30 days straight without any problems arising to keep us from praying with one another. Yeah, there was that one night when we couldn’t call each other but we still managed to message our prayers to each and that is still considered praying with each other!

That was the 1st of this month and we went 3 days with out being able to pray with each other. February 4th was our first day of prayer since we missed prayer, because the 2nd ended up being too late once again and then on the 3rd (Sunday night) we were in great hopes of getting to pray together at around 8 pm but then he began having problems with his phone – it just quit on him!

After getting to pray again with each other, we sure were very glad and thankful to God for giving us the opportunity to pray with one another again. I know with things that come up in each of our lives sometimes it is hard to keep this daily routine, but it’s not like watching your favorite T.V. show; it is also another form of food, spiritual food, we all need food to survive, right? To give us all the nutrients we need to do the daily tasks that are in store for us. Well, daily prayer is what we need to have the spiritual nutrients to do all the daily tasks that God has in store for us.

“Prayer is not an old woman’s idle amusement. Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action.”- Mahatma Gandhi

Both Cameron and I know that this is true! I hope that even if we have to miss a day or two together with each other that it will be at least a few days before that happens. Maybe even another 30 days, huh? Either way, I will pray as I always have – whether it’s with my best buddy or not. But It sure is a great thing that he can call me and I can say my prayer as he listens and then he says his prayer and I listen praying with him in silence. God is there with us and that is a great thing for both of us to experience.

I’m very thankful for this best friend God has placed in my life nearly two years ago. I can’t believe that it has been almost that long. When I left KD we had exchanged pretty much every form of contact information we had with each other and promised each other that we would always keep in touch. Well, there at the beginning I didn’t really believe that, but after keeping in touch for so long with each other and our friendship has become golden as what we are doing by praying daily is, too.

Though we are miles apart from each other, that doesn’t effect the closeness of our extremely blessed friendship from God.

Be blessed everyone!

Prayer Is Good!

When you have been praying with your best friend for 30 days straight the subject isn’t something you can get off your mind so easily – I know I can’t! My best buddy and I both believe that last night’s 30th day of prayer is not the end to something great, but that it is just the beginning to something truly wonderful and magnificent in the eyes of God.

Prayer f

After all, the Bible says to pray without ceasing. Last night, we were both discussing how 30 days of prayer together is a very great accomplishment for us and it’s true that we could both skip a few nights and pray separately and then get back into prayer after that but I was listening to him as he said that and he asked me what I wanted to do.

Well, personally, I will continue praying with him as long as he wants me to, so I asked him if he wants me to continue or not and he said it’s not that he doesn’t want to, it’s just that today he might be real late. Well, we’re gonna figure out how late it’s gonna be before it actually happens if we can and if he says it’s too late we’ll see if we can pray earlier (like 4 or 5 or something).

Though, I like praying at night the best for multiple reasons. If we have to pray earlier today that is fine too, we both feel that it is very important that we can continue on with our daily prayers as long as we can in hopes of one day actually being able to come together in person and pray with each other in that way! That will be a great day!

“Pray without ceasing”- 1 Thessalonians 5:17 K.J.V.

Yesterday, we were getting ready for church and I knew it would be past my bedtime when we got back so I started to call Cameron for prayer earlier, I knew he could and I didn’t know if I could hold out after church because I was real tired and have to get up at 5 am so I can get this blog posted for everyone. (As it’s a daily blog post and I’m trying to keep it that way as long as I can.) He was getting ready to call and I changed my mind and said, “You know what we’ll go ahead and pray after church; it probably won’t be that late.” He asked if I was sure and I said “YES”  and then began to explain to him why.

During an afternoon like that, the day isn’t really gone yet, and it’s hard for me to focus with all my full attention because if you’re silent (even if your silent during the day, even in the evening), it’s like you can still feel the world shaking around you with business and restless people. You can just feel the world being busy and I can’t really concentrate well during that. I like praying at night with my best friend because not only do I get to end a day in prayer with him but also, it’s dark out, the sun has gone down the stars are out and it’s like it is way more peaceful during the night. One time when I had to go outside and pray with him I looked up and the sky and seen a shooting star! That was amazing! Night, when it is dark out, is just much more calming and peaceful for me. So I asked him to let’s do our best to keep our prayer at night, but if we have to miss a night prayer today in exchange for an evening one then that’s alright too, as long as we pray together.

“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”
― Bruce Lee

We pray for many things and strength not only for others but ourselves is right there when we pray, asking him for guidance and there are many on our prayer list – people that God brought to our attention, the ones we should always be praying for, and those who requested that we pray for them.

And that’s what we will continue doing!

Bow your heads, bend your knees, and just pray.

God bless y’all!

30th Day Of Daily Prayers: Praying With My Best Buddy

It’s been awhile since I updated you on my daily prayers with my best buddy.

Well, we’ve been continuing on with that – no matter what has happened in our lives! Despite the fact that we are miles away from each other and have totally different schedules.

We work around them no matter what time we have to pray, and for me no matter if I have to pray out in the cold or in the bus because we have no cell phone signal inside the house. (And we are currently sleeping in the bus until our house is remodeled.)

I have to go outside only when we are late for our daily prayer. That is because my grandpa usually goes to bed around 8:00 pm and when we can’t pray at 7:00 I have to go outside to talk so I don’t keep him from sleeping and also sometimes I might have to go outside so that I can keep a cell phone signal! Out in the woods, there isn’t very good service most the times!

I will start with our 12th day of prayer as I’d like to tell you all about our past experiences while keeping dedicated to daily prayers together. Well, God tested us on our 12th night of prayer: Cameron lost his phone charger earlier that day and he had no way to call me for prayer time! His parents were using their phones, his brother’s minutes are limited, and no house phone! What were we to do?

I was a bit skeptical of this option at first and was about ready to just give up. I was crushed inside…. both of us were. It was so disappointing to think that we might not be able to pray that night, so we prayed with the only option we had – Facebook messaging! It wasn’t nearly the same as praying with each other over the phone, but it was still prayer with each other at the same time, and I believe with everything in me God honored it.

Was it different? Yes. But I still believe that God heard us and perhaps he was teaching us a lesson that night? Maybe he was trying to show us how blessed we are? With having the option to call each other and pray for and with one another here are some things we are to be thankful for.

Being able to talk and hear, also being able to call on a phone, another form of communication. God sure did open our eyes on that one, but we sure are grateful that we are blessed with such a very great form of communication.

Cameron found his charger and we were able to call and pray with each other again. That was something to be praising God for! Was the lessons taught on our 12th night of prayer intended to be:

Imagine not being able to talk?

I sure felt that way. We are blessed that we can come together to God through that and also being able to open our mouths to speak words and thank him with our tongues.

I have been used to going to bed at around 9:00pm, but for a few nights I had to stay up late in order to be able to pray with Cameron. On our 17th day; however, I was up at 11:17 pm out in the cold to pray with him and didn’t get back to sleep until around 12:00 am. I was so tired and just ready to give up and thought that for sure this was the end of our prayer time now.

I sent him a text saying I just had to go to bed, couldn’t fight the sleep anymore. Moments after I sent him that, he texted back and I asked him if he could call me then and he said yes. So reluctantly I drug myself out of bed and said,”ok then, CALL.” It was prayer to God with my best buddy.

I couldn’t disobey God. He was dealing with me so strongly I had to get out of bed and keep my promise not only to my best friend, and to God but to myself.

It’s been a great blessing for both me and Cameron being able to pray with each other, getting to come closer to God and with each other! That’s another thing that’s amazing about praying with a best buddy over the phone, though in reality he is miles away. When I’m on the phone praying with him, not only can I feel the presence of God there with us, but also I can feel my best buddy’s presence as well. It’s as if he is right there beside me while we pray – it’s amazing.

A word from Cameron about our Daily Prayers:

“The past 30 days of prayer has been revealing in many ways. I have seen the support and dedication of a true friend. I have experienced a stronger relationship with my Lord God and I have learned a lot about myself. For me, it has been proven that prayer is potent, essential and powerful. And we proved it BY praying! True it has only been just 30 days; however, may I say that doing this was indeed the perfect way to start the year and I am excited to continue our daily prayers.

We prayed for many things over the course of this month including ourselves and others who had requests for us. It is truly amazing to be able to call your buddy and pray with him/her and I would encourage you to try it. It shows that you genuinely care and it helps you learn to love. We need to learn to look out for  each other and prayer is a perfect place to start. Remember, the opposite of love is not hate, but apathy.

I hope that this blog has had some sort of effect on you and motivated you to go out and pray. Please do! It is a wonderful skill to be able to communicate with our God and we should be taking full advantage of that skill. Thank you for reading this. God Bless.”

Prayer time with each other just keeps getting better and better for us! We hope that we can continue our daily prayers with each other for a LONG time (no matter what) because it’s been a great part of our lives and we also hope that this blog post might encourage others to do the same! Prayer is important. All it takes is three steps!

“Bow your Heads

Bend Your Knees

Just Pray!”

It’s been a great 30 days and we hope that we can have another 30 days of prayer together – and many more! It’s such a great blessing being able to come together over the phone and thank God, ask him for his guidance and to help us with our needs, and also to help others with guidance and their needs as well.

If you have any prayer request please feel free to leave them in the comments or by my “contact page“.

God bless y’all!

7th Day of Daily Prayers

Blessings to you all! Thanks for reading my blog! This is not only the 7th day of my daily blog but also a week since my best friend and I have started our daily prayers. It’s hard to believe a whole week has already passed by! It’s becoming really fun and a blessing being able to pray with my best pal every night like this. I look forward to our prayer time tonight and hopefully many more prayer times to come!

There are three ways we look at it:

1. We’re going to be taking the time out to pray anyways – so why not pray with each other? Same goes for you. If you feel uncomfortable praying to God alone then you don’t have to. Find a friend or someone else close to pray with.

2. It makes it better for young people (like Cameron and I) to stay dedicated with our daily prayers if we just pick up the phone and call each other every evening for prayer.

3. It doesn’t take hardly any time to give that time for God. After all, he took the time to love you before you were even spoken into existence.

So in other words people, prayer is EASY AS 1 2 3!

What are you waiting for? The scripture says:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16 K.J.V.

It can change things in your life in many different ways – “PRAYER” that is.

So let me ask you a question:

Do you pray? If the answer is yes , what do you pray about? Do you pray about the things you are thankful for? Do you ask God to help you get through whatever struggle it is you may be going through? Do you ask him to help others if they may be going through a struggle?

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”_ James 5:16 K.J.V.

Nevertheless, your prayers will be heard – whether it’s thanking God for the blessings in your life or asking him for something he will hear you and he will answer. The answer, though, isn’t always what we expect it to be.

So you see, I know sometimes we can get frustrated when things don’t go as we had hoped or planned. But they ALWAYS go the way GOD planned! I ask that you continue to pray and seek God as my best friend and I do also.

If you have anything that you need help praying about, please don’t hesitate to comment on this post leaving your request, or by entering my Contact Page and send your request through there. The bible says where two or three are gathered together in his name he will be there. No matter where you are, or how far away you are, if we come together at the same time for that one reason and purpose (which is to reach God and come closer to him through prayer) then he will be there and you will feel his spirit with you.

I wish you all the best day today.
