Guidance

The way that we go in life is something that many of us think about all the time. What will tomorrow have in store for us? What will my future job be? The answer is much simpler that you think, and as much as we love to try and plan our lives ahead of us it never seems to go to plan! If you were asked to plan our your last year, would you have predicted everything that happened? I definitely couldn’t have! READ MORE…

Thursday, we reflected on how:

The title says it all! Listen up closely because I believe with everything in me that I’ve got a pretty good message for all of you today. I’d like to talk about our freedom. So for today, I got up late again without writing a blog either late last night or early this morning. Nothing seems to be coming to mind so I would ask that you take the time to check out this audio clip I uploaded to youtube of myself awhile back titled:

Words I Would Say

Mar
08

Just a little recap on my blog post “What Do You Say?”I would like to talk about some of the words that I would say during times of trouble and heartache. I know that sometimes there isn’t anything we can say – but sometimes there is. And when we have those words to say, we need not ignore the feeling to uplift the weary with them.

Sunrise_on_Sea_1920x1440-Wallpaper

Maybe I’m speaking to someone who is weary and struggling right now or maybe I’m speaking to someone who knows of a weary and struggling soul at this very moment. Whatever it may be, if you’re that hurting, struggling soul I would like to just start off by saying a few words: you don’t have to go this route alone. As the matter of fact, the bible says that God has gone before us. Remember that he is on the throne taking care of business, people!

“Find the scripture that says to be strong in the lord or something good to fit with this in quotes like we do.”

Do not be afraid. Be strong in the Lord and never give up hope! You will do great things, whether it be for yourself or for someone else. Believe me, you will do great things! The trial you are enduring at this very moment is a thing that shall pass, just as everything else does. Don’t let it bring you down and trouble you too much. Don’t forget who God is. I know your problem at this very moment may seem BIG but don’t look at God and say I have a BIG problem. Look at your problem and say…. I have a BIG GOD!

AMEN!?

Words To Say:

If you were here… if we were face to face, I would tell you what just what you mean to me. I’d tell you these  simple truths: You have got to be strong in the LORD and NEVER EVER give up hope! Because remember, people: God gave us HOPE so that we can COPE! I know that I may say that often but it is true, and makes quite a bit of sense in a way, now doesn’t it? Hope to cope, right? Sounds easy enough – and it is.

Another thing I’d like to mention about hope is this acronym created by motivational speaker Derek Clark. If you’re familiar with me and my story you know who he is and how he came into my life. If not, check him out. He’s real easy to find. Onto his acronym… though.

“H.O.P.E. Helping, One Person, Everyday.”- Derek Clark

Just help one person every day and by doing so you are giving HOPE! Helping people can also help you as well because by being a blessing you will also be blessed. But just being a blessing is always a blessing, now isn’t it?

Now, if you are the person who knows of someone who needs to be blessed with encouragement then all you have to do is pray, ask God for guidance, and let them know that God has got his hand on them and they don’t have to live life in fear. They just must forgive and forget but they can’t forget why they are here!! Take a step in the right direction toward making somebody’s life better and being a light!!

I hope you enjoy my cover of this song “Words I Would Say”. It is by a band named Sidewalk Prophets and I have loved it every since I first heard it. Like with previous blog posts, I almost couldn’t think of the words I would say today – but the Lord inspired me once again!! I do hope you got something from my post today and that you can go out and be a difference in someone else life.

God bless y’all!

Sincerely,

Some Gave ALL…

Mar

The title says it all! Listen up closely because I believe with everything in me that I’ve got a pretty good message for all of you today. I’d like to talk about our freedom. Think about it for a moment…. While thinking about it, don’t forget to start ‘thanking’ those who gave of themselves – because all gave some and some gave ALL.

bald_eagle_head_and_american_flag1

It’s something that we don’t do enough: take the time to remember our veterans.  How can we forget them? Where would we be without those who gave us all? Without them, we’d have no freedom because they shed their blood so that we might live safely here every day. Think of the mothers who lost sons, brothers who lost brothers, sisters who lost brothers, dad’s who lost their sons. Children who lost parents – the list can go on and on and on.

Why is it that they take on one of the hardest jobs that there is and when they come home – if they make it home  – many times they are ridiculed and shamed for their being here. What did they do wrong? I don’t get how anyone can look at a veteran in disrespect –  unless, of course, that person is just wicked… but other than that. If they haven’t bothered anyone and are just minding their own business being upstanding citizens, how on earth could someone look down upon them?

People do, I don’t know how I could they could – but they do. It is absolutely terrible!! How could we allow our veterans to be homeless on the streets? How could we leave them out there when they gave of themselves to keep us safe on a day-to-day basis? I know that there are some who just have that about them that want to live that way, but not all of them are like that.  They fight so that we might be able to live safely, and protected here in our homes. They don’t know us at all, but they protect us every day, and if they die giving all they have, their name is never mentioned. If they make it back home when they need someone to give them something back, it seems that there is no one to be there.

Let’s talk Jesus

He gave all now didn’t he? Oh, yes he did! He died for our sins. His blood was shed so that we might be set free. Yet we don’t always remember him either, now do we? I know many people can stray from him. When all is just right they don’t tend to think of him. But when something is wrong, they are pleading for him to save them. It’s not the way it’s supposed to be but sometimes that’s just how people are. They have to hit rock bottom before they will remember Christ.

This is a song I heard quite sometime ago, and finally I decided to do a cover of it! It’s a Billy Ray Cyrus song and it’s just beautiful! I’ve loved it since I first time I heard and I don’t know if any of y’all have heard it before but if so I do hope you enjoy my cover!!

THANK A VETERAN TODAY!

It’s that simple. They do deserve that from each of us. Just take the time to thank a veteran, in anyway that you can, because I’m certain that there are many ways to do so. Either by words or by action, if you know of some veterans do something nice and thank them in anyway you can. And remember, all gave some…

SOME GAVE ALL….

God bless y’all!

Guidance

By Sam Donaldson

The way that we go in life is something that many of us think about all the time. What will tomorrow have in store for us? What will my future job be? The answer is much simpler that you think, and as much as we love to try and plan our lives ahead of us it never seems to go to plan! If you were asked to plan our your last year, would you have predicted everything that happened? I definitely couldn’t have!

God is the way

Yes God is the way! How often do we actually ask God where we should go or maybe what he would like us to do? Now there may be some of you who are actually amazing at this. I for one am not, but that doesn’t mean we can’t always ask God more! I am a firm believer that God has more of input on our lives than we know, but often God wants us to do things and we can turn away through the hard it may bring or because it may not be so convenient. But God sees the bigger picture, and we should remember that! God knows what will happen tomorrow – and the day after – so we should really start to trust him a lot more than what we do!

Guidance through prayer

As Christians, we often pray for our forgiveness (something good to do) and many other things but when we view our own lives and see all of these problems we often never even think to include God, yet alone talk to him about them! If we daily pray to God, asking him to show us the way, funnily enough he will! I think we often underestimate God and what he will do, but ask anyone who has asked God for guidance and they will have a story about how God showed them the way.

Things pop into your mind

I hate to mention myself but I have an example of how God has guided me in my life. Over Christmas I was really praying God would show me the way and what I have to do in life, and he immediately gave me the idea to create a website for Christian teens! At first I thought I couldn’t be bothered and that other people would have already done what I wanted to, but I was wrong! A gap was there, and so was the need! So here I am today. That’s one example of how God has really moved in my life, and one that I’m really excited about also. It could lead to my job, or just be something I learn from. It’s a real blessing to me to see how we can impact young lives and how close I have become with the others helping me out!

God has plans bigger than you. He wants more for you than you want for you! Look at Proverbs 3: 5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

So what does this tell us? To go for it anyway and make things better ourselves? No! It says to trust in God with ALL YOUR HEART. Not just when you feel like it but in ALL YOUR WAYS. Everything you do!

Guidance is a real blessing from God, and something we shouldn’t ignore! Pray, ask God, and he will answer!

I hope this helps!

What Do You Say?

Mar
05

Good day to my readers!!! Now the title to this blog post today has a bit of a pun to it because while writing it, it’s exactly how I’m feeling!!

What do I say!?

Writing a blog every day can get to be work! So I might draw them back them in the future but don’t worry – I’ll give you a weeks notice if I’m gonna do that! Until now, I’ll continue daily.

Blan copy

Ever heard of the song “What Do You Say?” by Reba McEntire? The first time I heard it (early one morning while working on writing a post) I fell in love with it! It’s a great song! So I wanna talk about some of these lyrics in the song. I know that sometimes there are events in our life that there is no words we can say. We question ourselves and ask what can we say? You can’t find the words to tell it like it is;  sometimes you gotta bite your tongue and let your heart lead the way.

What Else Can You Do?

I guess that’s why we can pray. We can ask God to give us the words, but we all know that in some situations there are no words we can say to comfort someone. Some cases we can only pray for those people, but then again there – what can we say? In the prayers for those people, what do you say? When you can’t find the words sometimes we just have to ask God to help us and give us the right words to pray for a good friend. Ask God to comfort them and help them through the troubled times. Just close your eyes and let your heart lead the way.

“Sometimes you gotta listen to the silence, and just give yourself a little time to think”- Reba McEntire “What Do You Say?”

That’s another lyric from Reba’s song, and you know, it makes a great point! When you sit real still and quiet for even just a moment and listen to the silence, or maybe the wind blowing the leaves through the trees, if we sit and take that time maybe even for just only a moment, just to think…. To think about everything going on in life, yours and your friends. To think about what you can do to help in a troubled time and think about what you can do to help in a happy time as well. To listen to the silence and let God speak to you. Because he’s always talking to us, sometimes we just have to be quieter than other times.

Let Us Pray

Whatever may be going in your life, we will bind together and pray for you these things that are most necessary in anyone’s life during these days in this cold, dark world. We will pray that God give you strength, comfort and joy – strength to get through whatever struggle and heartache that may come your way, strength to be there for someone else, and strength to keep moving on. Comfort in all these times to keep you safe warm and to help you continue moving forward no matter what happens that he comforts you and you feel his presence with you so that you might make it through. And finally, we ask that God give you joy – a deep bubbling joy to help keep you going no matter what may happen in your life, that his joy is overflowing your heart at this very moment.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

I hope that you all have a very blessed day today! And here is the moment you’ve been waiting for! That’s right, you know if there is a song involved I am most likely to do a cover of that song! And in the above video is my cover of the song we’ve been talking about today! I hope you enjoy it, and that it blesses you deeply.

God bless y’all!

Sincerely,

Friendship!

Today I’d like to discuss friendship: What the bible has to say about friends, what I have to say about friends, best friend scripture references, what it means to be a friend, my best friend  – and much more!

friends nathan and cameron

For me, the statement in the above photo is extremely true –  especially for my best buddy and me. My mom found that picture and sent it to me one day and said she thought of me and Cameron when she saw it. I liked it and I’ve kept it since then to share and to look back on from time to time.

Being the distance that we are from each other, that can sometimes be hard on our friendship; it can be hard on any friendship right? But there has been something great about us being friends since the first day we met each other – though we didn’t realize it at the time, we do now! We did notice, though, just how quickly we clicked with each other like we had been friends our entire lives!

Really, it was that crazy! Have you ever felt that way when you first met someone new? (I met him at my KD acting camp in Dallas, Texas) and though everyone I met there seemed familiar, Cameron and I hit it off real well and we were quickly great acquaintances, which has now grown into a one very  powerful friendship – the type of friendship that God intended us to have with others. There is no doubt, though, that God doesn’t have special friends out there for everyone. Pretty much everyone has a best friend out there in this world and I’m thankful for mine!

“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17 K.J.V.

This is one scripture my best friend has quoted to me multiple times throughout us knowing each other. It’s been over  a year now since I’ve seen him. We’ve known each other for two years, though, and everyday since we first met he’s been right there for me and we have talked to each other pretty much everyday since we first met and since we said goodbye to each other. But really with a friendship like ours, it’s never goodbye.  I prefer “Until We Meet Again”( much better way of saying things). Because you never know when you may cross paths with someone again. I am pretty certain I will see him again soon, though – I hope so!

My Best Buddy’s Input:

“By no means is friendship necessarily easy. We do have our ups and downs, but at the end of the day we are – and will always be – friends. Friends don’t give up on one another. That is what unconditional love is and a friend Loveth all the time. Unconditional love is loving someone no matter what condition they are in or you or in ,or the conditions of the situation. A true friend is a friend no matter what is going on.”- Cameron Wilkinson

We’ve kept in touch through every form of contact there is. I’ve been there for him and he’s been there for me. That’s what friendship is; that is what a true friend is. Even the friend that the bible talks about, the friend that sticks closer than a brother. With our recent daily devotional that began in January that has been a great new edition to our friendship. It’s helped us to both grow stronger – not just with God but with each other as well.

Being able to have such a close friend my same age that I can talk to God about and the bible while being able to turn to him to pray with me is just a wonderful thing. I hope we see each other soon enough. All in GOD’S time, I’m certain. Until then, I ask God to bless my best friend and brother in Christ.

BE A LIGHT – BE A FRIEND

You knew that I would get this in the post somewhere! When being a friend you are letting your light shine. Because when being a friend to others, you’re sharing hope in them everyday! Isn’t that a wonderful feeling to share hope and to let people know that you are there for them – and God is too? Don’t hide your light under a bushel. Whether it’s the new guy/woman at work or at school, even church! Be the first to extend your hand and be their friend. Be a light so that they might be led to THE LIGHT!

Go out today and be that friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Be the type of friend that you wish to have and though most the times the favor may not be returned, God will be shining down upon you from heaven and smiling with joy because of the light you are sharing.

Also check out the video of me singing above! I figured it’d be a perfect song to sing for this blog post today! Tracy Lawrence “You Find Out Who Your Friends Are” Hope you enjoy my cover!!!

What Would Jesus Do?

Mar

Hey, everybody!!

Today is my 60th blog post!!!

That’s right! Yesterday I was looking at my published posts and it said I had 59! That means that today is my 60th post!!!! I can’t believe that! My best friend and I started praying together 60 days ago as well, though, we haven’t made 60 days straight we have continued praying when we can.

wwjd3

After the 30th day, we started missing some days and haven’t been able to keep a good solid straight week now for awhile, but in time we will!! We started praying together 60 days ago and out of those days I think it’s safe to say we’ve only missed 20 scattered days so that isn’t too bad! It’s good being able to pray with your best friend; it’s the highlight of both our days.

But our prayers together isn’t what my topic is about today. My topic is about stopping to think about and ask ourselves:

“WWJD?

“What would Jesus do in times like these?  I think prayer is one of the things that Jesus would do. Don’t you? How about reaching out to others and showing them hope?

“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”- Luke 5:32 K.J.V.

Or, would he walk among the sinners and fall to his knees? Heal the sick and saved lost souls the way he used to? In times like these as Christians, it’s vital that we stop and ask ourselves WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? We must not only reflect on this as a question but as an act for our own self as well. We need not only  just ponder  what Jesus would but also once we know of what Jesus would do, we need to do our best to try and do those things ourselves. Don’t you think?

I think he would walk among the sinners. I believe he would be right out there with them showing his love and kindness as he once did, never to once judge them for not knowing what they are doing is wrong. That is the thing today. For a sinner to not know what he/she is doing is wrong is one thing. In a sense,in God’s eyes it is natural. Until a sinner truly knows in their heart that what they are doing is wrong it is normal behavior but for a Christian to do something that is wrong, knowing that what they are doing is wrong is even much worse. Because when you know the wrong yet still do it anyhow, it is even worse then the sinner doing those things.

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?

Ask yourself that question today. Stop and take the time to ask what would Jesus do and once you get an idea of what he might go out and do today, why not go out and perform some of those actions yourself? It might be a great help and change in today’s world. We can’t change the entire world, but each day we get the chance to make it slightly better, so why waste that time on other things? Why waste that time judging and bringing those who need God down instead of picking them up and bringing them to the Master’s loving arms?

That is what our job is, to go out and be a light. That’s what’s most important in today’s time is that we all be a light I think it’s what Jesus would do! And when we’re judging and bringing others down, that’s not being a light, that’s being a forest fire to God’s lost children…

Check out my cover of Adam Gregory’s “What Would Jesus Do?” I first heard this song in the movie which was titled “What Would Jesus Do?” And every since then I fell in love with it! It’s both a great song in a great movie as well!! I hope you enjoy my cover and that you can go out today and do what Jesus would do.

GOD BLESS!

My blog for today will be somewhat different as I am aiming towards reaching the teen followers of Christ. For Christian Teens is a website I ran across a few days ago that was created by two Christian teens from England! That’s right – the United Kingdom! It’s an amazing website and you should go have a look. You won’t be sorry!

Screen shot 2013-02-27 at 3.42.56 PM

Founder of this site (Sam Donaldson) and Co-Founder (Luke Lonergan) are just two young Christian fellows who have a heart and desire for God’s word with a passion burning deep within them to help support other Christian teens through their website – just for Christian Teens!

The name says it all, really. They focus on the scripture in 1 Timothy 4:12 where it talks about not letting anyone despise you because you are young, but to set an example in charity, in your spirit, in your faith and in purity!

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”- 1 Timothy 4:28 K.J.V.

Roaming youtube one day for some reason or another I decided to type in the search link “Christian Teens”. Now I really don’t know what possessed me to type in these words. I guess that I was just bored. But after searching through many videos (which I don’t even remember what they were about) I glanced down in the corner of my screen and noticed a video titled literally “Christian Teens”. Why it took me forever to find the video that was titled exactly what I was searching for, I don’t know. But seeing that video in the corner of my screen, I decided to click on it and check it out. After watching it, I became really excited and knew that this was something planned by God!

It really excited me that someone out there had the idea to create a website FOR CHRISTIAN TEENS – for teens, by teens. It doesn’t get better than that, now does it? In today’s day and time, we are responsible for the future! We hold in our hands power; we may not realize it but we do.

Some of us may let our power go to waste by just being completely lazy and hiding our lights under a bushel. Other’s might use their power in an inappropriate way. But I choose to use my power in an uplifting way and I choose to use the power that given to me by God in a way that will change the world for a good purpose – not a bad purpose.

SPREAD IT!

This website is a great way for every Christian teen out there (not just in the UK). I mean look at me: roaming youtube one day like a gazillion miles from the UK and I found this site! It’s surely something to get in to and help get it started up and going -together! We are all in this together!

The scripture says that we are the body of Christ. This website, created by Sam, is a perfect place for us to go and share uplifting words that could help others get out of the dumps and to be an encouragement for them, to give your testimony and possibly have a chance to give others hope as well.

So spread the news of this wonderful site and become a part of it today. Together we can make a difference! Each and every single one of us have the ability to make a difference – maybe even a worldwide  difference. Alone, we are powerless to do these things. Without God nothing is possible. But with God, all things are possible!

I hope that you check them out, and that you enjoy it with the video!

I have written a blog post for their website. You’ll have to go have a look at that on “For Christian Teens“. Also, you’ll have to follow them on Twitter and check out their Facebook as well. Go check those out and share some love!

God bless y’all!
