This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalms 118:24 (KJV)

Take the time today to just laugh. I know things can be hard from time to time but you’ve got to look at the brighter side of the situation and just laugh. This may be hard in the beginning but you will soon find it to be much easier as you search for something to get you laughing, or maybe even just a smile? Be joyful with glee!

Think of the good times!

Look back on your life and think of those moments that will make you smile. Find your happy place and don’t let what is going on today get you down. It will all pass oh-so-soon and you won’t even remember anything ever happening to disrupt your life from it’s calm, peaceful, harmless little bubble of comfort. Not to say that there aren’t gonna be times of sadness in your life… Life is full of up’s down’s and all around’s but somehow we can get through those times and if we are strong enough, we won’t come out broken and tattered, we will come out triumphing with great LOVE.

I am constantly saying this: sometimes we gotta look beyond what we see. Don’t let what is going on at this moment break you because that is just what the world and the devil wants, is to see you crumble and fall but don’t satisfy them. You are much stronger than that. You can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. Don’t let these hard times break you, let them help to make you: Strong, Courageous, Bold, Kind, Loving and Triumphal with great LOVE! Deep down, you are already these things – you just have to dig deeper to find them inside yourself, take a look in your heart.

“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;”- Ecclesiastes 3:4 K.J.V.

Now, as the scriptures said above in Ecclesiastes, there is a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. But how about if you can? If there is anyway possible today for you to laugh, do it! How about we take time today to laugh and dance unto the Lord? The scriptures also say to REJOICE in the Lord ALWAYS and AGAIN I say REJOICE! Philippians 4:4 – another one of my favorite scriptures and songs.

Live, love, and laugh. That’s all it really takes. When you’re living and loving, you should also be laughing! Don’t go walking around today all down and gloomy. By doing that, you’re not letting your light shine. Think about your situation and if you find that the problems in your life aren’t near as bad as they could be, then there is no reason for you to be walking around like a dead zombie. Let the joy of the Lord strengthen you and keep moving forward! To keep moving forward is not only beneficial for yourself ,but could benefit others as well.

What if there was a person out there today who needed someone to be a light for them? Someone to cheer them up with their laughter? Someone to make them smile, someone to let them know that they care? I am mentioning this often because it certainly is a matter that needs to be heard. How can you help others when you are down in the dumps? If your situation isn’t any worse then it could be then you’ve got nothing to worry about. Like the word says: if God be for us who can be against us?

Laugh today! And make others laugh as well!

Also Check out this video above from one of my favorite Christian comedians: Brad Stine! Check him out! He’s really awesome and I love how he ties in comedy with the word of God. He sometimes preaches to these people while doing stand-up comedy as well. It’s really a great thing he’s been doing and I hope to one day be able to see one of his shows!

God bless y’all!

“Laugh! Take some time to laugh, not at others but possibly with others over a silly joke or something. Whatever you do today be sure to laugh.”- Nathan Tune

Update On Prayers – With My Best Buddy

We made it to the 30th day mark somehow without there being any problems. I know that one day we had to message our prayers but that was really the only nigh -t and it still counted! Every other night we didn’t skip a beat and pursued our daily prayers for 30 days straight in a row, TOGETHER! But then then comes difficulty….

Now I know 30 days may not seem like a lot to some, but for two best pal’s to make a day of prayer with each other every day and being so far apart as well, that seems to be a great accomplishment for both me and him! And we haven’t quit praying together completely either!

I admit that there has been some days we’ve missed and any time we miss prayers together, we both feel bad. We’ve just restarted our daily prayers together after about 10 days of going without praying! (together that is) – and we’re having to get back in the groove! It is still as powerful and fun as it has ever been though.

“It always is a disappointment when you miss doing something that you care about and means something to you. There are days when it just can’t be helped – and what do you do? The days that me and my friend Nathan have missed our daily prayers doesn’t stop us from praying. Remember, prayer is also powerful even if you aren’t praying in a group. Someday we have to deal with the fact that we are going to miss the daily prayer but we always look on the bright side and look to the future. We missed one day; hopefully we won’t miss it tomorrow. Even after a week of no prayer we managed to start praying again as if we hadn’t miss those precious days. We learn to work with our schedules – and on God’s time.” – Cameron Wilkinson

Being able to call and talk with him over the phone about the bible, the church, living like Christ and more, is such a blessing to me and I thank God for a friend my age that I can turn to about these things. Whether it be for prayer, or just a good laugh it’s all good!

We started our prayers together back up on February 18th and that night was a great night. We have gotten longer with our prayers and we talked for over an hour that night about new prayer needs for others and new prayer request from others. I have had to make a new list for prayer! My other one was getting withered and needed the new people added to it!

I know it may be easier to just ask God to take care of everyone, but when you specify those certain people and those certain needs, it will just make it that much more special. Not only for those people but to God and yourself as well! When God brings a need to your heart to pray for you shouldn’t just ignore that need, you should pray right then if you can and not blow it off because what if that need would be your need and God brought it up to someone else to pray for you and they blew it off because they had more important things to do? You’d want them to do the same wouldn’t you?

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18 K.J.V.

What a lovely verse, don’t you think? The bible tells us to PRAY ALL THE TIME! Now I know that we can’t LITERALLY pray all the time, but what this means is to just talk to him throughout the day and ask for his guidance in whatever you do. After all, that’s all that praying is anyhow – talking to God. Isn’t that right?

But here’s something interesting, though: the second night in my prayers with Cameron, during that night we didn’t have much time so we just got right into the prayer. I started first as I usually do. There have been times when he starts but anyhow, my prayer was beginning to get quite long and I included this in my prayer as well.

It came to me that we should all ask God to help us be more willing so that we shouldn’t worry about time as much as we do. We shouldn’t worry so much about our schedules and if we end up being late or losing track of time that shouldn’t always worry us. Now I know that time is something to be valued but think about this for a moment: When you’re working on God’s time and for him, isn’t time being the most valued that it has ever been? Let us not get so caught up in our own lives that we can’t take the time to will ourselves for his work, instead let us be willing to ignore the time long enough to do his work.

So many people want to control time. We shouldn’t do these things – especially in the churches. We aren’t to say when God wants someone to do something (unless told by God). We aren’t to say when something needs to be done (unless told by God). Take the clocks off the wall! Let God run the service for awhile – and pray on his time, not yours.

God bless!

Trust Jesus!

Hey everybody! I’m back with a great blog post today all about learning how to TRUST JESUS! Along with this post, I will be posting a video that I created for public speaker (Derek Clark) back in 2011. The video is about this song that he wrote about learning how to TRUST JESUS! So, I hope you enjoy!

For now, though, I hope that you will take the time to read what I have to say on the matter and then I will let you watch the video I created to go with this beautiful song….

Trusting in Jesus can be hard for all of us at times – I can understand that. I know there are times when life can make you feel like there is no hope, there is no way out, and that the end is nigh. But fret not, little ones of God. When you feel it is the end that means it is just only going to be the beginning of something beautiful and magnificent – not only in the eyes of God, but in the sight of your own eyes as well!

Sometimes we don’t understand why things go on in our life that do. Sometimes there isn’t any way  to explain why God would allow such a thing to happen. You can’t expect all of us to know every single answer to every question on earth. As the matter of fact, we aren’t to know everything because the bible says that the other half is yet to be told.

So, what are we to do then? It’s simple my friends…

Oh, but how can I trust in Jesus’? My life is so messed up! Everything is going wrong. There seems to be no light at the end of this long and dark, scary, cold, damp tunnel. But do not be afraid. Stop anticipating the worst and look up toward the one and only light!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”-Proverbs 3:5 K.J.V.

Once you start looking up, you will see a lot more then you ever can imagine. Walk with your head high – and don’t let anyone bring you down! Keep moving forward and put your trust in him. Jesus wants to take care of every single need that you have. He wants to lead you and guide your life. But he can’t. You have to be the one to make the decision to let him take your hand and lead you. So just reach out today and take his hands and let him lead you, not only for yourself but for others as well. Because when your light is shining in you, it’s not just shining for you – it’s shining for others as well!

So go out today…  Be a light and TRUST JESUS to help you get through whatever it is that may bring you down. He is in control of everything. He’s on the throne taking care of business.  I know I say this often but believe me it is truer than true will ever be! He’s right there! He’ll be by your side whenever you fall, and by your side wherever you call. Just reach out and take his hand….

God bless y’all!

Living Water

This is the first guest post here on Nathan Tune’s blog. He is sick and not feeling up to writing today so I have written about Living Water. I pray it blesses you….

By Michele Miller (Nathan’s mom)

You know how when you’re real thirsty, nothing quenches your thirst like good, cold water? Yes, you might buy a soda or pour yourself a glass of Kool-Aid or tea or even coffee but after you drink it, you aren’t really satisfied – because your body is craving pure, fresh water.

That’s how it was with the woman at the well. Ever hear that story in the bible?

living water

Well, just in case you haven’t heard it…

In John Chapter 4, we read about Jacob’s well. Jesus was tired from his long journey and so he sat at the well while the disciples traveled in to the city to buy meat. While he was resting, a  woman from Samaria came up. Jesus asked her to give him a drink. The bible says that she was simply astonished that a Jewish man would ask a Samarian woman for a drink! She asked him how this was possible.

(The above information comes from John 4:1-9).

Let’s look at the following scriptures:

10     Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11     The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12     Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13     Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14     But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Finding Satisfaction

You know, people search for something that will satisfy their need for peace and joy, strength and motivation, happiness and assurance in all different places. Some turn to drugs or alcohol. Others look for it in relationships that never last. Some lose themselves in gang life or some other group that makes them feel like they’re a part of something (at first, anyway).

No matter how hard you search or how many different places you look, you aren’t going to find what you’re longing for – until you let Jesus fill your empty well with that reservoir of Living Water.

Once you turn to him, the emptiness you feel will be gone. The sadness, guilt, anger, and so many other troubles and emotions will be washed away in the Sea of Forgetfulness.

Just like fresh water satisfies your physical body and even makes your skin healthier and more lush, the Living Water will satisfy and sustain you. Whatever you need in life, go to the…

Living Well

When you let Jesus fill you up, you will find that you can sleep like a baby and rest so peacefully. And you’ll discover that you can wake up in the morning with joy in your heart and excitement for a brand-new day that you sincerely feel is full of possibilities, hopes, dreams, goals, opportunities to witness for him, and so much more!

This passage of scripture about Living Water was one of Brother Ward’s favorites. He was a man who was like a grandpa to us.

Brother Thurman & Sister Pat Ward

(Godly Grandparents to us and Soldiers for God’s Kingdom)

He was not only a spiritual leader, grandfather figure, and loving man, but he was a true example of drinking from the well of Living Water that leads to everlasting life. He loved to share the Living Water with everyone he came in contact with. Sister Ward has that same desire – and so does my family.

Nathan reminds me so much of Brother Ward. He has such a sincere and dedicated heart to walk a path of holiness that is pleasing to the Lord.

Brother Ward has gone on to be with Jesus now but we carry on his passion for sharing the gospel, for spreading the message that the key to feeling whole and quenching our spirit’s thirst is to surrender our heart to Jesus and allow ourselves to be filled with his spirit – until we’re overflowing with that Living Water and are truly satisfied.

Are you thirsty today? Do you feel empty and in need of being filled ’till your cup runneth over? Get down on your knees and drink from the well of Living Water. You will never be the same….

The Healing Stream!

There’s this song my grandma has always sung throughout the years and it’s called Healing Stream. It’s a wonderful song and I’ve always liked it very much. Both my grandparents have sung it for years and I think it’s going to be needing to be making a come back soon – let’s go to the healing stream!

For the past few days my grandpa, mom, and pretty much everyone in my family has been either sick, getting sick or just feeling sick – including myself! I’m trying not to get it ;I don’t like getting sick! I don’t guess anyone does, though. Come to think of it, though, I have a funny story to tell you about when I was younger and still in homeschool: sometimes I would wish to get sick just so I wouldn’t have to do it. And other times I would wish to get sick just so I could sleep! While that works for when you are little, it doesn’t work too much for when you are older because then you have more things to do and that can be a problem when you are sick!

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 KJV)

How is your health today?

Are you needing to go to the healing stream? If you think about it, everyone in this world is sick – whether it be physically, mentally, spiritually or through their life. Everyone is sick. You see, a lot of the times we don’t realize how sick we really are. Being sick doesn’t always mean that you are sick with the flu, a sore throat, and congested nose. It could also mean that your life is missing the healing medications that it needs daily. Your life could be perfect. Your health could be just fine, while everything could seem to be going right in the life that you live. It can never truly be right until you have Jesus.

This is my grandma singing: _Healing Stream_ Deborah Tune

Though I am sure that there are many out there with physical and spiritual sickness, don’t worry! Jesus will take care of all those needs if you just put your trust in him! I know many of you have heard this every since you can remember, but whether you like it or not – it’s true!

And there are many things people don’t understand about healing. For one to be healed takes us to take the medicine we need to help us get better and God did supply us all natural remedies to help us get better from whatever sickness we may have. I do admit that I really don’t take all the supplements and things I need to be taking for my body, but the difference between myself and possibly someone else is that when I want to get better, I take whatever I need to.

And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. (Ezekiel 47:12 KJV)

Some people may say that is lack of faith on our department, that God will take care of us… True, he does have all the power to take care of us and heal us from whatever illness we have, but the thing is in most situations he isn’t just going to reach down and abduct you into heaven like some UFO alien spaceship so you can be operated on by the hands of God and come back healed. People can pray all they want, they can go to church all they want, but for true healing takes work. Most people are sick because of the actions that they do themselves by what they choose to put into their temple. HIS TEMPLE.

My grandma (she blogs at Hillbilly Heaven Herbs Blog) gets frustrated with me often because I don’t take all the necessary supplements and herbs I need for my body, (but like I said above) when I do wish to get better from something, I take from my grandmothers herbal arsenal – whatever I need that suits my situation best. At least when I wish for healing I take the steps that make it possible for healing.

I hope that you all enjoyed today’s blog post. And I hope to be getting well pretty soon! I have lots more in store for upcoming blog posts and to get them out there to you I need to be well. My Daily Walks!

Hey everyone! I know it’s been awhile since I updated you on my daily walks. Well, they haven’t been so much daily as they are supposed to be. With the weather being as cold as it is and with it pretty much always raining here in Texas, I miss out on some days! I started my walking back the 18th and then the 20th it was supposed to be raining throughout the day so I didn’t go, but I did still have some form of exercise!

Daily Walks With God

I did my Total Gym. I don’t know if you have ever heard of that but it’s the one that Chuck Norris promotes and he doesn’t promote much, but I know that this machine does work. But it’s not going to work if I don’t work on it!

Kind of like faith without works is dead. Most people think that they can ask God to heal them and that they will instantly be healed. Well, in most cases this isn’t going to get you anywhere. Because if you have true faith in God, you will do whatever is needed is possible for your healing. And I’m not talking about having to go to the doctors and having all kinds of surgery. What I’m talking about is either fasting, or taking natural medicines that can heal your body, because there are herbs that can heal your body and help you, it may take a little longer then a drug but it will and much better than any drug in most cases.

Anyways, back to my daily walks! I can off track sometime. Hey, that was a funny pun don’t you think? Get back to my walks, get off track? Well however your sense of humor works,I guess. I am happy to be getting to my walks and my daily exercises. It does make me feel a lot better and more energized and a good daily walk supports good oxygen throughout the body, lowers blood pressure and even prevents against the cold! There are many other great benefits to walking. It builds up your bones and prevents a stroke! Also, walking can be quite inspirational!

“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”- John Muir

That’s where I find most of my inspiration. Other times I find it in the night sky, or maybe while watching a sprig of grass blow through the wind. Any way you look at life, it’s full of inspiration – whether it’s for a book a song, a movie or a poem. Look around your own front yard or out your own house window and you’ll see that there are many things to find inspiration in. I love walking here on the roads we live near because all the grass is always so pretty. I get greeted by ranchers’ cattle sometimes. If they only knew though how much that I like a good juicy hamburger!

I should be getting back to my walk soon. The rain is supposed to have ended and I will be able to go out for a walk without having to worry about being drowned in the rain. But sometimes the rain is good for us anyhow. Have you ever thought about that? You know how though in life we don’t like rain or storms but most times those things end up helping us prosper later on with time? It’s just like your personal rain and your personal storms. Just think about it and I’ll get back to you on this one.

God bless y’all!

The Body Of Christ – WE ARE THE BODY!

I believe I have talked about this many times before, but perhaps some of you were busy that day and missed it. and even if you went back and found it with my weekly RECAPS then that’s great! But I’m telling it again, not in the same way. I will be explaining it in a different way though how we are all the body of Christ.

One day I was watching on youtube a Pastor’s sermon and he said imagine if your mouth did one thing and it was uncontrollable? Imagine if when you went to shake someone’s hand, you ended up kicking them instead? That doesn’t sound too good, now does it? Ok, let me put it this way for you now, since we are the body of Jesus Christ, imagine when he wishes we reach out our hand to help someone (which in the end is a hand for Jesus) but instead of helping that person with our hand, we kick them while they are still on the ground in need of a loving and caring Christ-like soul.

How would you like it if you were in dire need of some help from someone but instead of that person giving, they took – they took from you by kicking you while you were down? Have you ever been kicked during times you were down? Have you ever kicked others while they were down? You may say no to this question but if you have ever mocked somebody or ridiculed them while they were down, that is just the same as kicking them to death as they lay there helplessly on the ground.

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” – 1 Corinthians 12:27

We are the body!

I love this song from Casting Crowns called “If We Are The Body” Now the lyrics speak in a magnificent way, because IF WE ARE THE BODY, why aren’t arms reaching? Why aren’t his hands healing? Why aren’t his words teaching? Why aren’t his feet going? Why is his love not showing them there is a way?

THERE IS A WAY! Why can’t we seem to show them that this way is JESUS? Is it because we are too caught up in time? Because we are worried about losing track? I know that time is something to be valued but when it’s being used for God in any way, isn’t that valuing time to it’s greatest extent? Most people tend to let time get the best of them and they control things on our time – whether then God’s time, but you see God’s time is the most important there ever will be.

His arms aren’t reaching… his hands aren’t healing and his words aren’t teaching because people are too consumed with trying to keep time –  too much to do in a day. There isn’t enough time to reach out and show others the healing of God’s word. Aha! See what I did there? Most people won’t take the time to reach our and show others the healing of his word. Here’s another for you: Other times people won’t take the time to get their feet going so that they can share his love with others and show them the way, the truth and the life.

See, what is hard for most people to understand is that, even though there isn’t anything wrong with having this big church building for God, what can become wrong is putting this building before his word and even before some of his ways. Most times, preachers will make compromises to fill the pews of their little church so that it may grow into a big kingdom – but who’s kingdom is it really? That building made of wood beams with a steeple on top isn’t worth much to Jesus. He’s not coming back to take all the gold we put into some church. He’s coming back for HIS PEOPLE. Not any denomination, not any fancy building or the preachers with the nicest cars –  he’s coming back for souls who dedicated their life to him no matter what their status in life.

So, if we could just break down the walls of the church and see that WE ARE THE CHURCH; WE ARE THE BODY then things would be so much simpler in life, wouldn’t they? But things don’t tend to usually go that way, do they? No, they don’t. Because people don’t want to take the time to work out his body. All it takes is reaching our your arms and hugging those in need, whether it’s a spiritual hug or a real one; reaching out your hands and showing them the healing of his words; moving your feet to those in need and showing them his way and his love.

Come on and give it everything you get take a chance, make a stand and…

God bless y’all!

When I Fell In Love With Texas!

This is the shortest title that I could get for this subject! It’s not only going to talk about when I fell in love with Texas but it will also talk about my acting and learning experience in Dallas, Texas at KD College – because that is where my first visit ever in Texas took place. It was then that I knew it was just right.

I’ll start off by saying that I have always loved Texas deep inside, every since I was a little boy, for all kinds of reasons. One of them is because I liked the shape! Another is, of course, because of Walker Texas Ranger (CHUCK NORRIS!). So being in Dallas those two weeks that summer in 2011 was such an amazing event for me. I couldn’t believe I was sitting where I was, and the Dallas skyline was beautiful. I loved it – especially at night!

It was there at an RV park in Dallas one summer night that I looked around and felt so at peace. Everything just felt so right to me, even though it took so long to get there and things got in the way. The journey wasn’t much of an easy one. I was fought the whole way – somehow we managed to reach our destination. (In many cases it’s not so much about the destination as it is about the journey but in this case the destination was everything._ For those of you that haven’t heard me talk about how I came to realize that I wanted to be an Actor and go to KD then let me explain to you how all of this came to be:

“You may not be able to control the events, but you can control their meaning.”

It came from much pain, heartache, and prayer of course. After my mom had left me and my family I started praying a lot more, not just for myself and family but for others as well. I also began asking God what his will was for me. I knew that I had a passion for acting but also I have a desire to help children – whether they be orphaned, abused, abandoned, hurt foster children or children that are just taking a turn for the worse. I’d like to be able to help them someday. But how could I tie both my passion and my desire in with the same thing?

And then it hit me!

I could pursue my passion for acting as a career and with the money I make, I could have all kinds of places sit up for the children and have my own ministry for them. After my time at the acting camp in Dallas, I began to realize that I would also like to have my own talent camp like that in a way. There were many ideas that flooded my head but the ones I felt so sure of was pursing my dream of becoming an Actor so that I could help the children as well.

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23 (KJV)

The scripture is truer than true, I was fought hard to get to Dallas, Texas and it was a bit rushed at the time as well, getting everything together and then with all the problems we had with our bus throughout the trip, it just was a long journey from MO to the great state of Texas!

But once we made it there and got to looking around being in the atmosphere made all of us feel so much different. Looking back on that time, I still can’t believe how peaceful and calm the feeling of the whole trip was. Leaving, though, had to be the hardest thing for me. At the acting camp I had made some real friends, a very best friend, and really had some of the greatest times. So having to just say goodbye was hard – for all of us not just me. Everyone who was in Acting camp with me all bonded rather quickly with each other.

I still say my heart never left Texas after being there that whole two week July 2011, I now live in Texas and though I had to depart for quite sometime so that we could move from Missouri to here and get our house sold up there as well. I don’t claim to have ever left Texas because my heart has been in this great state every since the day that we left.

When we found our place, it was even more exciting: right in the Pineywoods about an hour from Tyler Texas, where my grandparents used to live about 30 years ago. Moving here was a great thing. It’s beautiful out here. I really like Dallas too, though. I intend to do an enormous amount of work there with my dreams and goals, but I don’t know after I drive in Dallas something about that could make me change my mind about how much I like it. 😉

Whatever is in store for me and my family I am sure that it is going to be something great and BIG because we are living in the greatest, BIGGEST state there is!! “SECEDEWe have lot’s ahead of us I am sure if you read my Postmaster Mom post, you see that since she got here to Texas, God has already worked great things in her life from it. Texas is blessed for sure! Do they have some bad apples now and then? Of course they do! There is gonna be bad people everywhere, but as I’m constantly saying:
“we’ve got to look beyond what we see and sometimes; the good will always outweigh the bad.

I’ve only ran across a few rude people here in Texas but most of them are very nice and caring people filled with Texas spirit and that Texas spirit seems to help some of these Texans live out long lives! I was at town awhile back and heard a grandma talking about HER GRANDMA being sick or something! CRAZY!

God bless y’all! And God bless the great state of TEXAS!

Make An Impression!

They always say first impressions are important. What kind of first impression would you say that you make on a person – a good one or a bad one? Or even worse, a boring one?

Sun 2

One thing for sure I don’t think anyone has ever told me is that I am boring. And God knows nobody has ever told anyone in my family that they are boring!

Funny thing, that is, but really you don’t wanna leave a bad first impression on someone, now do you? If you leave a person’s life without making the greatest impression that you can, then here again you have not been letting your light shine. And when you aren’t letting your light shine, you’re not sharing hope in everyone.

I know I’m getting a little repetitive with this, but I mean come on, it isn’t something that is a once-a-year thing. Making sure you are letting your light shine is something that should be done 365 days a year!

Maybe it’s because those who are hurting are still on my mind, but the thing is, I don’t think they will ever get off my mind because the situation isn’t something that can be easily forgotten for me. As long as there is hurting in this world, I will continue to feel and hurt for them.

It amazes me so many times how even someone who claims to be a man of God will drive right on by a hurting person in need (most of the times because he is too busy for them and has much more important work to do for the kingdom of God). Like what though? Oh I’ve got to get to church and put in my tithes so we can get a taller steeple.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”- Matthew 9:13 K.J.V.

Jesus came and ate and drank with the sinners, though we can’t seem to show the same kindness as he once did? Why is that? What preacher do you have? What church do you go to? How did you miss that part in the bible? You see, the thing wrong here is that how is the church supposed to expect anybody to get saved if the visitors’ first impression is “I’m not wanted here”? Well, how else are they supposed to feel when it is the truth? Most churches, they become too caught up in themselves and building this huge tabernacle and they tend to forget who Jesus is – King of Kings, our Savior came to call to repentance in the first place.

Instead we turn our heads and look the other way.

Too much work for God to do today; let’s just ignore their pain and walk away. WRONG! How could anyone claiming to be a Christian following Christ turn away from what is wrong? What the world needs – and most importantly what God needs here  – is people who care and aren’t lazy, people who can stand up for whats right and not turn away from what is wrong without doing anything, because all that it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to sit back and do nothing. I know that the world isn’t full of all bad people but I do believe there are a lot of good people doing nothing – and that is even worse then committing the sins of this world yourself.

People ,while saying their eyes are on Jesus, are just kidding themselves a lot of the times because what their eyes are really on is a worldly possession. The church building is a possession. It’s a thing. God doesn’t care about that big sanctuary. Christ didn’t say he was coming back for the biggest, most beautiful, richest church in the world. What good is a big, beautiful, rich church if your heart is small and cold, your soul is ugly, and your faith is poor? Christ didn’t say he was coming back for any type of denomination. He said he was coming for HIS people. Who are his people? Those who follow his word and live by his example.

That’s all it takes folks. Trust me: come judgement day, you don’t want to be the one who turned and looked the other way. You don’t wanna be the one who ignored their pain. You don’t wanna be the one who walked away and made a terrible impression.

You wanna be the one who left footprints of love in their hearts forever…

God bless y’all!
